There were vandalism against cars. Be aware if you have nice cars! Some people who live here are terrible. Since there is no surveillance camera in the parking garage, anyone could scratch, dent, damage your car and no police would like to take care of such a 'small' issue! When those damn kids have a bad day or whatever, they just do such ---- to your car! The construction is solid and the noise is zero. The dog park is a f**king joke.

Do not live here!! This place is low class. The rent is high and the apartments are substandard. Many of the units have old fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchens and old carpet. My balcony is falling apart yet management refuses to fix it. But one of my neighbors uses her balcony to hang dry her clothes (including undergarments) so it is not that pleasant to sit out there anyway. The final straw was today when one of the tenants here left a sofa outside on the sidewalk ALL day. It is so embarrassing to have friends over because I always have to explain the condition of this apartment community. I feel like I live in the projects. I cannot wait to move from this place.

I would recommend this apt complex to those who are in school (especially those with 3 roommates that make the apt complex rates pretty worthwhile). This is a pretty decent place for someone in college, but I would not highly recommend this for families or young professionals like myself. I have a few main issues with the complex. First, I will address the roaches. We live in a unit that is right next to the woods, so seeing roaches on the steps during the warmer months was pretty common. The complex says they spray often, but at one point during our nearly 2 year stint in this complex I literally lived in fear every moment that I was going to see a roach. I think I saw 1-2 roaches PER DAY, INSIDE MY APT, for a solid week and a half. One day I killed 3 roaches in our apt. To say I was traumatized is an understatement. Now, I will say that since that experience roach sightings have pretty much disappeared. Apparently they fixed their problem or finally sprayed, but whichever it is I still find myself searching the walls for roaches late at night (seriously traumatized). That amount of roaches was TOTALLY unacceptable. Moving on, the construction is also pretty shoddy and cheap. Being relativity new to the renting game, these details can be easily overlooked until you actually live in the apt and realize that the laminate floor in the kitchen rolls up under the cabinets, there are tacks and nails that come out of the poorly laid carpet, there isn't any overhead lighting in the living area, and a couple of the cabinets don't close all the way. The office staff is also pretty sketchy about doing random walk-troughs. They give you notice, but don't tell you exactly when they are coming and will walk in on you walking half naked around your apt (speaking from experience). Sometimes its actually to do helpful things like check the air-filter, but they don't respect your privacy enough and they are definitely looking for things to charge you for. Like pets they don't know about. Moving on to the noise level, it can get pretty noisy from time to time. You're living in a complex with a lot of rowdy Sate students, so it can get noisy esp with those wooden staircases. As far as the positives go I will say I believe its a very pretty little area, and the maintenance men for the most part are really friendly and hardworking. It is very pet friendly and a lot of residents do take advantage so there are a good number of dogs. The pools are very nice (but do get very busy during the summer). Not worth the price if you aren't in a 3br and prob not worth the hassle if you're not a student.

Im a current resident at this community. I had very high hopes for this complex, but after less then a month after moving in, am seriously considering breaking my lease and moving out. Every day for about a week Ive seen cockroahes in my apartment. I just moved from the desert which is COVERED in cockroaches, scorpions, and other scary creatures, but after 7 years of leaving in phoenix, Ive NEVER seen an insect in my apartment. I sold my furniture and drove to NC.Any boxes I had shipped never entered my apartment, since they were quite large and were over 100 lbs each. I brought my belongings in reuseable bags, making several trips. I have found cockroaches in every stage of life so they have been breeding long before I moved in. I havent cooked in my kitchen since I found the first roach, vacum daily, and bleach the bathroom and kitchen daily. The complex has treated the kitchen since reported by putting bait in,however, all of the roaches Ive seen have been near the bedroom and in the livingroom. The roahes Ive been able to catch and kill, I've saved and showed the leasing consultant. No one seems concerned, which concerns me. I've asked to have pest control come asap to control the situation since finding roaches daily seems to me to be alarming. I was told that pest control only treated on Tuesdays and I had to wait, that was Friday. On Saturday, I stopped by with another cockroach and was told that there was nothing they could do. "I dont know what you want me to do?" the consultant asked. I want you to get rid of the roaches asap or pay the bill to have another pest control company. I CAN bring in a pest control company BUT I have to pay for it. That seems..fair since I own the building, oh wait, no I dont. Why SHOULD I pay to exterminate the roaches in your building? The leasing consultant wasnt being helpful or even seem to care, so I asked for a manager and was told to email her and would get a response on Monday. Again, not helpful. Ilost my patience and said Id rather not live here anymore and the leasing consultant with a big smile said "then you'll have to break your lease". At this point, Id rather break my lease lease than live with roaches or deal with this type of service, so I asked for information and procedures to break the lease. I was then told she wouldnt be able to help me with that. So to recap, I have to wait to get my apartment treated for roaches unless I pay, I cant speak with a manager, and I cant break my lease. Wonderful! Ive worked for Hilton for 9 years, worked as property manager and director of sales. I would never treat my clients like this or allow the situation to continue. Ive spoken to many people who live in the area and each person has never seen a cockroach in their dwelling. I hope to get a response for corporate on Monday and work with the leasing office to get rid of the roaches in a timely manner. I will post a positive response when I feel heard and taken care of. I will say, however, Erica in the leasing has been a office has been a pleasure to work with.

One of the best place to live, no hassle moving in. Very friendly staff and helped me understanding every penny of information I requested. I love this community, pleasant place & nice gym, pool area. A very nice welcome to the community, I was stuck in hurricane NJ airport closed and office staff waived my one day rent as I joined late.. This complex is fairly new & well maintained. I rate among top of my list for whatever apartment I stayed so far. Also maintenance guys are very knowledgeable for the plumbing & shower repair they performed for me. My room is spacious enough & very well equipped washer and dryer. I wish the community all the BEST! -Rajesh

This is my second round at Trinity Commons. I lived here a few years ago before I moved into a house. When it came time to move out and I was looking for another apartment I compared seventeen different communities with Trinity and they all came up short. There is really no better choice. 1. I have never seen a property as pretty and well kept as Trinity. The best part about coming home is driving through the property, which is something I have never experienced anywhere else I've lived. The landscaping is beautiful and the property is free of litter. They work so hard to keep it nice for us and I am so thankful because I sincerely enjoy it! 2. I have never had any experiences with excessive noise or noise at late hours. I live on the second floor. My building is very quiet and all of my neighbors are friendly and respectful of one another. 3. The service team/maintenance staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Even if I have a minor issue and put it as low priority it has always been taken care of within the day. I love seeing them out and about on the property because they are always very friendly and take the time to say hello! 4. The office staff is amazing. The Apartment Ratings writing guidelines say I can't mention names, so I'll just say they are a joy to work with. I always get the warmest greeting and they go above and beyond to help with anything I need. As for any negative reaction to some "restrictions" at Trinity, I am thankful they are there. - Tow-enforced parking helps prevent heavy traffic and keeps people who don't belong on the property, off of it. - Pool passes & prohibiting alcohol prevents overcrowding at the pool and belligerent people from ruining our good time. Overall, Trinity Commons is a great place to live. I feel safe and at home here. I'm surrounded by great people and friendly staff. All of my living needs are met. I plan on staying at Trinity for the foreseeable future. I would rave and recommend these apartments to everyone who is looking!

I lived in Trinity Commons for two years with my roommate and dogs. Had problems with several neighbors and parking throughout the years. Parties are not as common in this complex due to the fact that it is mainly families living there but you can hear people above and next to you. They TOW almost every night and towed my friends car when his visitor pass had fallen on his dashboard. The head maintenance man is awesome and can fix almost everything. Several times we had problems with bugs or broken things in our apartment that were not fixed correctly by the other maintenance personnel. Don't expect them to change your air filter either. Other than a few ladies in the office who have been there for a while, I would not recommend talking with anyone in the office. You will face nasty attitudes and an unwillingness to care. The office managers are not very helpful or kind if you need their assistance. They rarely answer the phones in the office or return your messages. BEWARE of all the charges you will face at the end of your lease. We kept it very clean and did not damage any part of the apt but still faced charges.

Overall this place wasn't bad. Living on the 3rd floor there wasn't much noise. Parking wasn't the greatest. If you arrived after 8pm you pretty much were gonna be walking a good distance to your apartment. The gym is average, not very big but does after tvs. The pool behind the leasing office was nice on hot days. As far as rent money goes, we paid online the 1st of every month and never had a problem with it. There are a lot of fees they throw in that raises the rent a little. Every time I went to the office I was helped right away without there being a problem. I would still be living at Trinity commons if I didn't get married this past may, but I do recommend living here.

Most of the other reviews are accurate. I would like to add that aside from the in depth relationship that this complex shares with a towing company, they are also WAY too expensive for what they offer and you find yourself paying for their TWO pools and elaborate clubhouse. They raised the rent mid lease on us and that is still being legally reviewed. You would think in this economy that a business would make it as easy as possible for people to pay them, not this place, my roommate and I had to put our two halves of the rent together because they would not accept it seperately and then they stopped accepting Cashiers Checks and money orders! You had to pay online with a card for a $45 dollar fee. This place will cost you dearly. With the exception of one nice lady named Joy who works in their office the staff is stuck up, arrogant and rude. Its just not a very good place, since then i've found more square footage for $300 less a month.

RENTER BEWARE: READ THESE BEFORE RENTING!!!
Wish I would have discovered this site. Add me to the long list of complaints. I am a pofessional who is staying at this development while searching for a permanent residence. For no apparent reason other than colusion with a towing company, Colonial Grand towed my wife's rental car when she arrived late at night in the rain with a six-month old baby and two elderly adults. She was unaware of the guest pass policy and the office was closed. She needed to park in one of dozens of empty spaces to accomodate a baby and my 80 year-old parents. The manager on duty the next day refused to even talk with her forcing non-managerial staff in the office to deal with my tearful wife and crying baby. The management was not helpful in resolving this unconsionable act of cruelty. There are plenty of choices of where to live in the Raleigh area. I would highly reccomend not choosing Colonial Grand.

DON'T RENT HERE!!!
All the other reviews say it all...I'm just adding another body to the pile. This is by far the worst group of people with whom I have EVER conducted business. The front office is unfriendly to point of rudeness, unwilling to accommodate and little help on the back end. Service grossly lacking and they do not detail all the costs up-front. You WILL end up paying more. I will give a star to the maintenance people...they were good.

Horrible Management
I've been trying to get the management to turn up the hot water temperature for the shower for several days now. The staff members I have spoke to so far have been abrasive and don't do what they say they are going to do. The "hot water" is barely warm and all I'm getting is attitude from the management in response to a very simple request. I've been nothing but polite with them. They keep saying: "It will get done today". I've been told this 5 days in a row! If the maintenance person has a lot on his plate, just say so, don't make promises you can't keep. Definitely not re-signing a lease here just based on the staff alone. Their incompetency and poor attitudes will catch up with them eventually. Even though most people come on these sites to vent about their negatives experiences; their reputation will get ruined the old-fashioned way via word of mouth.

Watch the Management
This is a really nice and safe complex but be careful with the way the place is managed. The management is difficult to get in touch with (they will NEVER respond to emails, I only got someone on the phone 1 out of probably 20 times of calling, and the people you talk to in the office will all tell you, "Sorry! I just started and don't know what's going on." I had a problem with the way my payments were recorded on my account and was told by several different people to handle it differently. In the end I was told to pay a different amount on my rent than what I owed and of course I had to pay the $50 penalty. Of course, since I couldn't get them to respond to me via email I had no proof of our communication in writing. I've heard of lots of stories of the management screwing things up and honestly, you should look for a complex that knows what they're doing. The positives about the complex you can see from the outside. Nice pool, aesthetically pleasing, walls are thin but average for an apartment complex. If you're going to pay this price for an apartment I'd still try to find a place with competent staff.

A great place to call home
Read my review--I've lived here for over a year and I just signed another lease. I love it here. I've lived at other apartments and had soo many issues, but not here. Maintenance always fixes things right the first time and the office staff is awalys nice and willing to help. What I noticed on this site, is everyone is here to complain when something goes wrong, but when something goes right no one says anything but me. This place is not as bad as these other people make it sound, I promise!!

I do NOT recommend this complex!
This complex is an absolute nightmare! I lived there for 2 years, and during that time I got charged fee after fee, totaling over $1,000 in money literally wasted! Admin fees, pet fees, cleaning fees, etc. I've been accused of not picking up after my dog, when I never once failed to - although my neighbors routinely "forgot" to pick up after their 80 pound dogs and no one seemed to notice. The office is a group of smart-mouths who it seems like live to steal from their residents. They don't tell you when you have a package at the office, and unless you know it was delivered you'll probably never get it. If you have a maintenance request, they'll "send someone out" but you'll probably need to call 3 or 4 more times before anyone ever shows up. And let's not forget the sky-high rent for a shoddy, low-quality apartment. Nothing was clean when I moved into my place, including the stain-riddled carpet. But of course it's MY pocket the money is coming out of, since I conveniently have a dog they can blame it on.. even though in the letter they specifically cited "cat urine" and upon being informed I don't have a cat they quickly backed up "oh that was my fault, I meant dog." This place has been screwing me out of money since before I moved in and I could not be MORE glad to have moved out.

Oh boy!
I moved here a little bit over a year ago. When handed my keys, I went into an apartment that had not been cleaned. There was food and crumbs under the stove top, the dishwasher had no rollers on it and wouldn't slide open, there was dirt and pubic hair (YES!) in the bathroom, the towel bars were falling off the walls and there were clothes and old laundry behind the washer and dryer. They had just installed new carpet and there were carpet scraps everywhere. I notified the complex who I must say in my experience are always swift in their response whether it's something administrative or maintenance and they cleaned it up. The first week I had a water bug crawl out of the drain while I was taking a shower. I jumped about 4 feet across the bathroom and invested in a cover for the drain since after that I was paranoid it would happen again. About 8 months into my lease, the shelving above the laundry room and in the extra closet started to fall down. One morning, I heard a giant crash and the shelving had ripped out of the one side and everything had fallen down. This is because the ROCKET SCIENTIST who put the shelving in decided to use nails, not screws. When maintenance fixed it, they only fixed the one side that had fallen down with screws, and didn't bother take the whole thing apart and do it the right way, even though I said "it's nailed into the wall, it needs to be screwed into the wall..." I'm a female, and even I know that. They added that I should watch the amount of weight I put on it. Um, it's shelving, it's used to store things, I'm not loading bricks on it people, just normal stuff that everyone has, and it would have held, if you hadn't NAILED YOUR SHELVING IN. I'm surprised it lasted that long without falling down. We bought a carpet for the living room and within about a week there was a god awful smell in my apartment that we couldn't figure out. Finally, we lifted up the area rug to find mold growing EVERYWHERE! It now made since why I got brand new carpet when I moved in. We found out from our neighbors below that they'd had similar issues and even had their siding on the front replaced due to mold. They recently had mold visibly growing under their linoleum in their bathroom which took the apartment 3 weeks to fix. Meanwhile, they have an infant daughter so I'm sure they were livid. No one here cleans up after their dog. On more than one occasion I've stepped in it. When I renewed my lease there was almost a $100 increase, and my water bill raised almost 50 percent two months ago with no warning. Finally, I was told Raleigh raised their rates but I should not be paying almost 50 bucks a month for just me in a one bedroom apartment. In my old place, I paid 20 TOPS, usually around 13 bucks. I was kind of stuck here since I'm finishing up Grad School and it would be expensive to move and pay a ton of fees again so I decided to stick it out for 7 more months, but will be moving once that time is up. The staff is actually super nice, especially Joy who always remembers my name and asks how I am, but I'm guessing the building is just kind of run down and has been through so many tenants. I can't speak for the newer section of the complex. The positives are my building is relatively quiet, it's a nice location, and most of the staff (minus Angel the maintenance man who I'm pretty sure is the most miserable man alive and is the furthest thing from friendly when entering your apartment) are very friendly, but it's not worth all the stuff breaking down and falling apart and especially not all the mold I've experienced. My suggestion would be getting an apartment in the newer section of the complex if you're looking here!

I definitely do not recommend it!
I moved here almost two months ago. Even if I live in the third floor there are ants in my kitchen. Moreover, I needed to pay $60 buck for taking the electricity under my name two days late. They left notice three times to our door for painting the parking lot striping but haven't managed to do it yet. So, If you don't want headache, I definitely do not recommend this place.

Horrible
I've lived at TC for two years and at first everything seemed fine. UNTIL you need maintenance. I moved into the newly renovated section of apartments to try to lower the chance of maintenance problems. Too bad almost every appliance in my apartment has broken. Within the first 6 months of living there my ice machine, refridge.,ceiling fan, heater, guest bathroom tub, guest bathroom toilet, and microwave had all broken down. Not the mention the dishwasher is HORRIBLE. After all of this, my building gets a notice on our doors saying that rent is due on the first day of each month and they will no longer be taking rent until the 5th within a late fee. Without a doubt I am moving out as soon as my lease is up and I have nothing but horrible things to say about this place to anyone I know. You don't want to move in this place.

5 year resident approves...
I have lived at TC for five years and I think it is great. I have very rarely had a maintenance request and it has always been handled quickly and efficiently. The office staff is always friendly, professional and willing to help...even when they are busy. The community is huge and while there are many students I have not had any problems from any of them. There are two pools, a tanning bed, a sauna and steam room, movie theater, basketball and the list goes on and on! Two gyms! What community can say that? I am a strong believer in "you get what you pay for," and it rings true here. I know that I can go down the road and possibly pay less but I appreciate what TC has to offer.

Looks nice on the surface...but PLEASE, don't rent here!
If you don't live on the top floor, chances are you will hear every step of the person above you, especially if they have kids! The stairs are also extremely noisy. The office staff for the most part is friendly, except for this one chick who always seems to have a stick up her *** and it's physically impossible for her to smile apparently. Maitenance is so-so...they are friendly, but as far as fixing things...I personally have had them come fix a sink in my apartment about four times. They don't seem to really fix the problem... BIGGEST REASON YOU SHOULDN'T RENT HERE!...Parking! They have the worst parking policy! You must have a sticker on your car and your guests must have a guest parking pass hanging in their car or it WILL be towed. Basically they are saying although you pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars a month to live here, we are going to regulate how many people you can have over. If you lose the little laminated parking pass they charge you $50! I've had a friend come over who had the pass in their car and it STILL got towed! They tow constantly at all hours of the night! It's really a pain in the butt and the towtruck company owner who is usually the one towing is extremely rude! Parking is never filled so I have no idea why they insist on having this policy. Just a way to make money. TRUST ME...THIS IS REASON ENOUGH TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Be Careful
It seemed like a great place to live until we had neighbors move in upstairs and it sounded like elephants. Turns out, the place is built terrible and they had to come 'fix' it and it didn't help at all. Also, when we moved out they tried to charge us 350 bucks to fix everything. 50 dollars for an "ozone" fee. 120 bucks to remove dog urine and our dogs never once used the bathroom in the apartment. Be Careful when you move there to write down everything and stuff that isn't even there on the carpet and walls because they will get you for it.

Pretty Nice-Pretty Pricey
I have lived at Trinity Commons for a year now. I live in the smaller 2br 2bath with a roommate and two dogs. I have read some pretty bad reviews on here but honestly it is a very nice place and very safe. We are both two single females so safety is a big issue for us. I would get in late from class and not feel threatened about walking to my apartment in the dark, but that does raise one issue. Parking is HORRIBLE... and they make you purchase parking passes, WHAT FOR?? you only get one guest pass per person so where are these other cars coming from?? I don't know Another issue was maintenance. My roommate and I moved in August 07, at which time we found that our washing machine was not working properly. We called the office and they sent someone out to tell us we were "loading it wrong." Personally, I know how to wash clothes I have been doing it for a while. We went on with our business using it and listening to it beat around the laundry room all the time. One day it would no longer drain so we called the office again. A week later the guys came to fix it... putting all the dirty clothes in it in my roommates bathtub, making a HUGE mess on our carpet and blaming us for leaving it in there. We didn't know what to do--we had explained the situation a number of times now but no one listened. BUT the bright side is that they did give us a brand new washer :) I am not trying to complain, just being honest. Safety wise, amenities wise and location I would say it's a great place to live. I did ask about renewing my lease for a one bedroom but the price was OUTRAGEOUS, to me at least. The workers in the office are slightly on the moody side at times, I didn't really like dealing with them from time to time. If you have the money I would say go for it... Don't think I really had a bad experience, I didn't. I just wanted to make sure somethings were made apparent.
