Great place to live
I have lived at TC for 3 years and absolutely love it. Any small issues i have with maintenance, they respond very quickly to. Parking is fine in my lot, and most of my neighbors are very friendly. I would recomment Trinity Commons to anyone!

Not worth the money...
I lived here for a year. Initially it didn't seem so bad... Then, mold started growing around ALL of my windows. It was disgusting and a pain to clean. Water would come in so bad sometimes that it would pool on the windowsill and even dripped over onto my nightstand. Soon after, when someone was pressure washing the breezeway, I realized that the door to my apartment wasn't adequately sealed, water was gushing in the door, and my electric bill was outrageous! Additionally, the parking situation was awful. My neighbors would often blast music so loud that I could hear the lyrics. To make it worse, I could hear them having sex! What really upset me was upon move out when I was charged over $500 for damages that I didn't even do. I had 2 dogs who were/are house-trained, paid an initial $300 pet fee, and the complex claimed that there was pet urine (from my dogs) in the floor and the carpet had to be replaced. In all sincerity, my dogs NEVER did that in my apartment. I am currently disputing these charges. PS: everyone here has a dog and few actually "pick up" after them

Absolutely Horrible
I have lived in the complex for a little over a year and cannot wait to get out. I first moved in to a place that I thought was ok. Boy, was I wrong. I soon figured out the parking was horrible. I do work the night shift so I was able to get a half way decent spot when I worked b/c I would come in when people were leaving. But if I left on a day I was off and came back then I would have to park 2 buildings away IN THE DARK b/c the street light was ALWAYS out. They have a towing service who I saw maybe 2 times towing someone. And that was right after I first moved in. After a couple months someone moved in above me who would either have parties or play the music loud. And when I say loud, you could hear the words of the songs that were played and the bass of the music rattled things in my apartment. So as the wheather changed and got cooler so did the mold in my apartment. You could look at any window in the apartment and there was so much condensation on the windows that it looked like someone just sprayed the window with water. If you did not constantly wipe the water off (and when I say constantly, I mean daily/almost hourly)the mold would grow. The office was contacted about this problem the 1st time and they said to just close the bathroom door when taking a shower to keep moisture in air from spreading and to turn fan on in bathroom; turn the air/heat fan to on to have it run all the time to circulate air; and to open windows when possible. This was done and NOTHING changed. And in inspection of the apartment there was mold growing in the closets in each room (yes meaning clothes were hanging in a mold infested closet). The office was contacted a 2nd time. The guy came out and just sprayed the windows and closets with a bleach/water combination and said he would be back. Well, what do you think, no, he didn't come back. Everything had to be wiped off personally. So nothing changed with this solution. The office was contacted a 3rd time. They came and put a machine that smelt like paint thinner in the place to pull the moisture out of the air. Over a 3-4 day period the machine probably pulled about 10 gallons of water out of the air, which let me tell you did NOTHING, AGAIN. After this final straw, I said I wanted to move out. I mean imagine having all this mold in your apartment and having an allergy to mold. :-/ I moved to another apartment in the newer building in a totally different part of the complex. This was nice. I was getting the new place for the old price. Well, not so much. The mold problem was taken care of, but the noise problem was not, nor was the parking. I have neighbors who play the music just as bad as the ones before. The office has been contacted 3 times and still nothing has changed. I mean just imagine trying to sleep when your neighbors are playing music all the time. :-/ At first the parking was good, but it has gotten just as bad now. And the fact that the office said the towing has been suspended for now just pisses me off. They know they have a parking problem all over this complex and they are going to suspend towing. Come on, how stupid are these people. Yes, this complex has nice ammenities with the nice pools and clubhouse, but you can never use the main pool b/c it gets so packed there is no place to even sit and kids use the smaller pool. The work out room is so small you might be able to have 5 people in there at one time for it to be comfortable. The office staff always has meetings that seem to be during the normal business hours, making it harder to communicate with them or do business. And during football season, you can forget it. When there is a State football game people seem to think they can come to our parking lots and tailgate. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Yes, it may be in a prime location, but I would rather drive a little more to have better living conditions. And upon looking around at different places and prices, you can get sooooo much more for a not so bad price increase.

DO NOT LIVE HERE !!!
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE TO LIVE! The staff is rude, forget about after hours maitnenance - if your problem doesn't fit on their call list then maintenance WILL NOT come out (and not having hot water is NOT on their call list so just deal with it until the next business day). They do not care at all about their tenants and once they rope you in and get your signature on the lease form, forget about getting any of the things that they promised. Please read all of the comments on this page and then look elsewhere.

Worth Viewing and Judging for Yourself!
Overall the complex is average, there are some major issues with parking, in that you rarely find a space in the front of your building. Your more likely to walk two buildings down. You are more than likely going to hear your neighbors upstairs if they walk even the faintest, the ceiling creeks when they walk, but I think my neighbors upstairs are heavy footed. I love the price, it's money saving, and traffic during games are hectic, but if those things are not too much a problem, then I'd stay here. But recommend new phase, it's worth it!

Not Recommended Any Longer
I have lived here for four years and it used to be a wonderful place to live. However, ever since Colonial Grand took over it has gone downhill. The ammenities they offer are either "being repaired", "out of service" or no longer available. The office staff can be rude and unwilling to help current tenants, but are all smiles when new tenants arrive. The property is littered with dog feces. They do not in any way enforce the "clean up after your pet" rule. I am a dog owner and it infuriates me that I clean up after my dog, but constantly am stepping around (and at night, sometimes in), dog poop. I am looking forward to the end of my lease.

Good Value
I have read the other comments on this site and I agree with a few of the negative aspects, such as the occasional tight parking, but overall I think it is a nice community. It is a great deal - the prices were the lowest around for what you get. I have a three bedroom apartment and it is huge. It is way bigger than any of the other communities I looked at, and it was way cheaper. The office staff is very nice and very helpful. I have never had any problems with them and they seem like they care about the tenants, despite what some others have said. Overall, I would recommend Trinity Commons based on the location, the awesome amenities and the price.

DISHONEST STAFF!
Loud noise, no parking, horrible maintenance. I moved out recently and received a $100 charge in the mail for "damages", sent by a falsely accusatory staff. All in all, I gave away money for the entire lease term.

Love it here
I have lived at Trinity Commens for two years and love it. Yes the walls are thin but its an apt. not a house. Maintance staff and office staff are great. The only problem I have is with the pool area in the summer on the weekends. Some younger residents make a mess and leave it for others to clean up. They also can be roudy and inconsiderate of others. The gas bar-b-q area is always dirty and hard to light and has a gas leak. Otherwise my husband and I have been very happy here. We have a nice 2 bedroom apt . with a study. For the price and the amenities you can go wrong!

I like it
People are friendly, the grounds are nice and well lit, the ammenities are great, I've made friends with the office staff, and I rarely have trouble with loud neighbors. Parking can be tight at times, and if you don't want basic cable, then too bad. I've learned to watch TV since I have to pay for it.

Stay FAR FAR Away
My major complaint is that in order to live here, you must have Time Warner Cable. This was originally posted as an option, and now has become part of your rent. Whatever they quote you for rent, you must tack on another $45 for the so called service. It is a sprinkling of channels, and not worth the 45 bucks. If you have another service, I have DirecTv, you must pay the early termination fees, and lose any money from special programming you may have purchased, like me and mo $250 foot ball package. Be forewarned that Time Warner is one of those consumptive companies and unless you love all of their services, you don't want to be here. If they can force you to "Choose" their "Offer" of cable services, why not the phone, power, internet, insurance, or any other CHOICE you can make? Make no mistake, move here, and you are moving into a police state.

I have to say that the office staff is a fifty fifty chance. There's about 5 of them i there and two of them are awesome, but you seem to end up dealing with the other three because tthey go out of their way to be irritable and cross, and will come out of their offices to interrupt you and one of the good ones, just to put their cranky two cents in.

The walls are paper thin, and everytime my neighbors above me use the plumbing, it sounds as if my walls are filling with water.

These same neighbors allow their children to play on the stairs and this echoes throughout the bulding, wood stairs and plastic princess shoes don't mix.

Parking is a nightmare. Recntly having had a knee surgery, this became an issue. I have seen people towed however, during the NCState game.

Traffic around the complex can very suddenly become heavy because of t's proximity to the RBC center.

The pool is strictly of limits on the weekends because of the moron frat boys and ther bimbo girlfriends, and off limits early in the week while they clean it up from hosting the Animal House Kids all weekend.

Yes, there is a sign that says "please clean the bbq when you are done" I do't believe this should exempt the complex from making sure it is clean. It's not. Only drunken frat boys would use that thing.

It is severely overpriced. They try and give you a "Market Value Rate" then "discount" it down to what they charge. Other local places are approximately $100-$300 per month cheaper for the same amenities.

The power goes out about three times a week, just long enough to make me have to reset all the clocks in the house.

CAN'T WAIT TO LEAVE!!!!
Staff is rude and they are not interested in working with tenants on anything - very poor attitude. Pool is not policed at all and can turn into a drunken free for all. Can never find a place to park when school is in. Can't wait to leave this place for good. Wouldd never recommend it.

A great place to live!!!
My husband and I have lived at Trinity Commons for a year now and absolutely love it. The people who are complaining on here represent a minority of opinions. Everyone I know at this community really like it here. It is a very friendly environment. We moved here from out of state and have met some of our closest friends just by living at Trinity! We are very pleased and have not noticed the "thin walls" or loud neighbors. I would recommend this community for anyone looking for a nice apartment, great location and a great price!

what is all the complaining about?
Trinity Commons is a good place to live. It seems to me that they went through a rough time but currently (2005-2006) everything is just fine. The managment is nice and as long as you are a good resident and pay your bills on time you will not have a problem. It is a mixture of college kids, young professionals and some families. I personally have not been bothered or woken up by any loud parties so I don't know what these people are talking about. I also have not heard other peoples conversations due to thin walls. If you don't like it get a life and move out, and pay more somewhere else. Suck it up and stop complaining because you are most likely the problem. This place is a good place to live for those age 18-23.

Excellent Value, Excellent Management
I've lived at Trinity Commons for several years now, through both the ups and downs.

The new management is really on top of things, and does an excellent job serving the residents. Scores have improved dramatically over the past several months as a result.

Facilitiy maintenance is as good as anywhere, and the amenities are incredible.

Several of the negative comments on here make me laugh. Realistically, the people complaining are the likely problem, and not the complex.

good place to live
I don't know what everybody is complaining about. I have no noise complaints, i have never seen any dog s*** and i never heard of any problems with the utilities. If we placed a order for maintence they were there the next day. Also, I have never seen a car towed. The staff seem nice and helpful. Maybe I just lived in a non-noise building. They have 2 gyms and 2 pools and I think the ammenities are great.

Defending Trinity Commons
I have lived here for almost a year now and I think this property is amazing. I have noticed that there are a lot of incompetent people and I am sure that they are all the ones that are writing the negative comments. If you pay your rent and use common sense you are fine. This property has an amazing staff and the complainers can shove it!!! Go Trinity Commons Management!!!!

Am I the only one who really likes this place?
I'm not sure why everyone is giving such bad reviews for this place. I've been here since last May and it is an extremely nice place to live. Apartments are very nice, pet friendly, grounds are nice and staff are VERY nice. We got a pretty good deal for our apt., but I do here it is getting a bit pricey and the renewal rate is more expensive. Really the only deal they give to renew is a free carpet clean but the rent is going up like $60. But overall I love this place, it will be awhile before I leave.

Just Say NO to Living Here!!!!!!!
My husband and I have been at Trinity Commons for quite a while now. We have seen many, many staff members come and go. Unfortunately, the good staff members are the ones that have gone. It wasn't until this past year that things turned for the worst. Like everyone says, the walls are paper thin and people are loud and the complex doesn't care to rectify this situation.

My biggest gripe with this community is the parking situation. They created "Vistor's" spaces, but you can get towed parking there. I was towed because my parking sticker fell out of the window. I said ok, whatever, but be fair and tow everyone who shouldn't be there. The staff said we can report "illegally" parked cars and I have done this day after day. NONE OF THE CARS HAVE BEEN TOWED TO THIS DAY AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE A PARKING STICKER!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention, people that are not handicapped can park in the handicap spaces. And on event days, people are always parked here for the RBC Center and I have not seen anyone towed to this day.

Lastly, never complain about the situation to the corporate office. They don't understand that NOTHING is being done because these are the rules they enforce. Do nothing and the tenants will forget. Well, I say forget this complex!!!! Thankfully, we should be moving into our house soon and I will not recommend this complex to anyone.

STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone on here is right about this new company. This is the worst management company I have ever seen and the cheapest. They are in a lot of debt right now so they are trying to cut costs wherever they can. This is a REIT company which means they are owned by shareholders. Anyone familar with business knows that this management company is all about maximizing their shareholder's wealth and neglecting their residents. Everything is broken all the time or closed. Nothing for residents except a cheap ugly newsletter once. They will lie and say you are late on your rent to get more money out of you (the late fees are $200-$400 dollars). Ask them, they have to tell you. They won't tell you if you don't ask. Everything is true in the other reviews about the dog ---- and paper thin walls and everything. Everything negative about this place is true.

BEWARE!!!!
My daughter has lived here for 8 months and is counting the days until her lease is up so she can leave. The rental office staff are rude and incompetent. Parking regulations are totally unreasonable. Her friend's car was towed from the lot because she did not have a parking pass. The office requires parking passes, but you have to pick one up every time you have a visitor (and of course, only during office hours)and you must return it within 24 hours or you are charged $20/day!!! Dog stations are not kept supplied with bags, so doggie "remnants" are plentiful in the grassy areas. The staff is quite fond of leaving nasty-grams on everyone's door, periodically informing them of community rules and regulations, regardless of whether or not they apply to you. If you enjoyed being in second grade and having the rules (RUDELY) repeated to you constantly even if you never broke them, you'll love it here. If you are a grown-up and expect to be treated as one, along with a little common courtesy, run as fast as you can!

Since the people who work in the office are always changing it makes me think that it's not those people's fault that this place pretty much sucks....it's gotta be the people above them that just don't know how to run a business. they also, obiviously, don't understand true customer service when they allow the "amenities" that sold us on the joint (copy machine, tanning bed, computers that never work or print...basketball court...need i say more?!?) to remain broken. i've been here for awhile honestly because i'm too lazy to pack and move. I talked to some lady named lisa (not the manager it was actually her boss) a year or so ago about my renewal, but she was not helpful. I agreed to pay the increase if she would only make sure the place delivered what was promised - functional pool, tanning bed, copier, etc...but that didn't happen. and deal with the students...the noise and partying is totally out of control. When my lease is up, I will be moving. They obviously decided they want to attract more students...not responsible tenants. i can say there have been better days (and people) around here....good news is the same maintenance guy that's been around for awhile does try to take care of the place and always says hello....but he can only do so much. it has much more to do with the students who live here (and those who make that decision) than the people who run this place daily and enforce the decisions made by "corporate."
