I'm ending my second year at Carolina Cove. Overall, my first year went decently well other than neighbors who were occasionally rowdy and the fact that I was told by office personnel that we would have a recycling system, which we don't (but there is a tanning bed, so don't worry, their priorities are totally straight). However, after the new management took over after the first year and I got new neighbors, I have been extremely disappointed and cannot wait to move out. I have neighbors who party so loud that my apartment rattles throughout the night at least 3 nights a week. For a student who works and takes classes, this isn't a good environment at all. While there is a noise complaint system, I wouldn't trust it. The last noise complaint I put in, they told them I was the one who complained (the neighbors came to me, knowing my name, and told me the office told them). I then dealt with retaliation, including having my apartment door sprayed with a fire extinguisher, and the complex has done nothing about it and refuses to admit any responsibility. The amenities and apartments as a whole are nice and decently well built, but the consistency of management is ridiculous, and they would rather select residents have fun and party every night than make sure that the rest of their residents are having a comfortable living experience.

My wife and I were looking for an apartment for our daughter since she would be attending UNCW for the next 2 years. We were very discouraged in our search until we came across the Carolina Cove apartments. The number one feature for us was safety. The gated community and location gave us that sense of security we needed as parents. Our daughter became a big fan when she saw how spacious and nice the amenities were. They went over and beyond with the pool. Over the next 2 years I believe our daughter spent more time at the pool than the beach because it was like an oasis in her backyard. The transit system provided for the students to get to and from school comes directly to the apartment complex every 15 to 20 minutes so there is never an issue of making classes no matter your schedule. We Would recommend these apartments to any student and parent looking for a great experience.

As a whole, the apartment is great. It is roomy and very nice. The management SUCKS though. They lost my FIRST MONTHS rent check and put an eviction notice on my door 2 days later. They do not keep up with anything and hardly clean the property. People let their dogs poop anywhere and trash litters the parking lot. It can get noisy on the weekends and maybe ONCE have I seen a cop out here trying to quiet it down. If you keep to yourself youll be fine. If you want a quiet space, just stay away from the apartments near the basketball court and the pool. Before signing the lease we asked if there were any more specials. They told us no. After signing and after they received our email addresses from the lease, we received an email for 2 months of free rent and $50 cheaper rent a month, but it was too late for us they said. They also say in the lease they will give you 2 days notice before entering. They dont.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! I lived here in 2013 and just recently had a conversation with someone about how lame this apartment complex was and decided to write a review to save everyone from having the same experience I had. Unless you are a partying college student that has parents who pay all your rent and bills, you will hate this place. Not for mature adults. They have a visitation rule. Visitors can only stay 3 nights. I am an earning, rent and bill paying adult, yet I have someone holding my hands telling me how many visitors I can have and for how long. The staff were not on the same page. One person would tell me one thing and another person would tell me the exact opposite. Terminating my lease early was a nightmare and they changed their policies multiple times, each time making it nearly impossible get out of your lease. My friend had two bikes stolen off of the porch that were locked up and two different people hit my fiancé's car and the staff made no attempt to help with any of those situations. We asked them to look at the cameras and it took them over a week and us asking multiple times to finally look at them. The whole situation was one of the worst living arrangements of my life. Do yourself a favor and drive right on by!

The Carolina cove apartments are a beautiful and fun apartment complex. I had nothing to complain about other than the WiFi un till I saw how it was actually being ran. The management team and employees here are absolutely clueless. The only people that express customer service are the people that answer the phone. Other than that this place might as well be run by a bunch of monkeys. The changes they are making and their attitudes are just not what this complex needs. Please bring some genuine young managers in that have previously worked in customer service and were successful.

Great and creative atmosphere for film students. I have made lots of new friends since moving here, and the location is convenient for my school. Everything is reasonably priced and staff is friendly and helpful. Good living experience.

I really like it here, the atmosphere is great with amazing facilities. I have met a lot of cool people with similar interests and it's a great place for students looking to collaborate (film In my experience). I really love this place and hope to stay for my college.

I have to be honest. This is the greatest apartment I have ever lived in! Everyone should just live here. I see no reason to live anywhere else.

This is an awesome place to live through your years at college. The atmosphere at Carolina Cove is never a let down. There is always something going on. The apartments are spacious and newer. The pool is also a nice amenity.

I like Carolina cove and actually just renewed my lease. The grounds are beautiful and the staff tries to help as much as possible. The only thing I hate is the noise which they can't control. I wish they could do more about drug related events in such apartments but that's with any apartment complex in Wilmington. Overall, I haven't had a problem. They switched staff and managers mid year so it's much better! Like I said, I renewed my lease! Safe community, pet friendly, and nice people!

I've lived at Carolina Cove for a year now and LOVE it. The kitchen is really big and the living room is a good size. The bedrooms are all the exact same size with huge closets and everyone gets their own bathroom. Being close to UNCW most of the people who live here are students which gives the complex a fun atmosphere. There are officers patrolling the complex at night as well as a gated entry so I always feel really safe. If you don't like being around college kids, this probably isn't the place for you. It's also nice that it's right next to progress910 because we always have something to do either at carolina cove or progress910 that's in walking distance of our apartment. The pool and hot tub is awesome, especially during the summer and the staff is always really helpful. After a year of living here, I have no complaints and would definitely recommend it!

This place was nice at first now it blows. New management sucks, the residents are all Cape Fear kids who act ------ and are gonna drop out. Having 8 weed dealers in the apartment complex is nice though.

Definitely my worst living experience to date. Staff is completely unhelpful and lacks knowledge on basically everything pertaining to the complex. On my move-in date I was given all the wrong keys and the staff was annoyed that I had to keep coming back to receive the right keys- which is absolutely ridiculous. Anytime I had questions about rent or services, the staff was completely clueless. The neighbors are the worst, there is constant noise and again the staff does nothing about it except announce whenever noise complaints are filed which gives away all anonymity and makes for an even worse living environment. We have been harassed by our neighbors in the complex and my car has been hit in the parking lot multiple times with no note left. I had such a horrible experience here that I moved out of my apartment only four months into living there. I was told by the staff that this was fine as long as I had a subleaser. They then proceeded to POACH FOUR OF MY SUBLEASERS and had them sign separate leases so I was still responsible for my rent months after I had moved out. I cannot even put into words how absolutely outraged I am with this entire experience and would NEVER recommend anyone to live here.

I lived at Carolina Cove for just over a year. The gated community and the layout of the apartments was a go for me! Apartment complex is great, the noise wasn't too bad, much better than my previous apartments in Wilmington. Front desk is very helpful and maintenance is really good. The best part was how friendly all my neighbors were. Got to meet a lot of other residents at their events. These other reviews, from my experience, are solo incidents that the residents are taking their frustration out on this website. I would recommend this place to anyone going to school in the area!!

I moved in August. So far it's good. Typical apartment complex. The people in the office are helpful. No problems so far. I just liked that I could have my own lease so I don't have to deal with roomies not paying their part of the rent. For $600 with everything included you can't beat that deal for a newer place.

Worst year of living. The front desk will not reason with residents, and when a concern is expressed they will threaten to get lawyers involved. I had my lease signed for an extended date, however two weeks prior to this already set date I was given a 4 hour notice that I must move out. Needles to say there was no flexibility on Carolina Cove's end, until they realized they were the ones who relayed incorrect information to me.

Where to begin... Carolina Cove is a great place to live. I was drawn here by the great layout of the property. Awesome swimming pool, hot tub, volleyball courts, dog park, basketball courts, dog clean up stations, hammocks, grassy areas to play... the list goes on. My apartment is a decent size with two great walk-in closets and an open-concept kitchen/dining/living area that is great for entertaining. The noise isn't bad at all. I've had two issues and the manager dealt with them immediately. The management and staff here have been welcoming and so helpful! I have been impressed with them every step of the way. A wonderful place to live for any twenty-something student or career person. Great decision!

WORST PLACE I'VE EVER LIVED!!!!!! If you have a job good luck sleeping! parties and drugs all the time. Security Officers run around all hours of the night yelling at kids and breaking up parties. But it does NO GOOD! I work at the hospital 12 hour shifts and need my sleep! The management is just plain awful. No matter how much you complain about the excessive noise and smell of pot coming from apartments NOTHING IS DONE! I walked out of my apartment one day to even see a thug dealing HEROIN to my neighbor! Since working at the Hospital i see my fair share of heroin packages and this was exactly that! I went on about my business and complained. * Come to find out the manager of this place is a --------! No wonder none of these drug issues are getting taken care of! The maintenance guys are great and whenever i needed things done they were there to fix them! No issues with that. The front office seems like they run around with their heads cut off, only the girls who sit up front have any idea of what is going on. If you are a decent working person STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! A BUNCH OF DRUNK COLLEGE KIDS WITH DRUGS EVERYWHERE!! THUGS HANGING OUT ALL THE TIME. NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR KIDS!!

Worst choice i've ever made! So expensive for what it is. If you want lot's of cool amenities then yes they have it, but actual apartments are poorly built, noise level is out of control, gates never work, and HORRIBLE bug problem. Also any complaints you have to the office never gets taken care of. Parking would always be a problem. Beer cans and puke always left behind from parties. Everything seems perfect until like 2-3 month in. Basically just do more research and find a better place and don't fall into the "new place" in town thing.

This place looks cool but YOU DO NOT WANT TO LIVE HERE. It is way too loud, everything is always broken, it is overpriced, and there are always obnoxious frat kids waking you up at 4:00 am before your exam.
