Staffer never called back about problem
Do we have security as advertised? We don't have the gated community as advertised half the time. I read in a renters law handbook that renters are all allowed to hold their rent until repairs are made and don't owe late charges for doing so.

Apartment Staff CANNOT Be Trusted
Regardless of what things the staff here denies to young ladies, do not be infantile enough to believe basic run of the mill denials. Staffers here are no exception, trust me.

Carpet and Padding with Feces NOT changed out before new resident moved in
I saw an apartment at this complex that was not yet cleaned up. <br><br>On the carpet, there were many dog crud stains, three piles of dog feces, and urine down the walls and on carpeting. I asked how long it would take for the carpet to be changed out, and I was told that they intended to clean it up! That is sick!!!<br><br>Someone is living in that apartment that I declined right now. When they walk around barefoot, they are walking on the oily remnants of dog feces that has to be coming up from the padding to the surface even if the surface of the carpet was superficially cleaned. <br><br>How can this be okay for an apartment complex to do to an unsuspecting new resident? It seems anyone would consider this unhealthy and bound to make someone sick.<br>

Nice But...
Management absoultely sucks. So if you're looking for a new home don't be fooled by the look and first meeting. They are very rude and most of the time don't care about the residents problems.

long enjoyable stay
I lived at Crown Martin Park from October 31, 1999 to June 1, 2005. I could not have asked for a better experience in an apartment. The staff is wonderful. They were all kind and responsive to my needs. When I needed work done it was done in a timley manner. I really have nothing but good things to say about my experience at Crown Martin Park. The apartments are laid out so that you have privacy. It is a great neighborhood. It is close to everything that you need. The most sought after neighborhood in Oklahoma City (Gallardia)is located across the street(Memorial RD) from Crown Martin Park. It is also one block from a hospital should the need arise. There is a Police station on 122nd street so that should the need arise for the police then they are close. It is also in the highest rated School district in the Oklahoma City Area. There is only 2 apartment complex's located in the Deer Creek School District and Crown Martin Park is one of them. The other Apartment Complex that is in the Deer Creek School District only has a few apartments that are placed in the District so that although your kids may have friends in the complex they may go to seperate schools. All of the apartments in Crown Martin are located in the Deer Creek School District. Also I am not sure of this but I think that the apartments are on the same grid as the hospital so that when the power goes out it is possibly one of the first areas back online. We never had a power outtage for a very long time. <br><br>As for the staff...They have taken some pretty negitave hits on this site, and I do not agree with the negative things that have been said. I lived at Crown Martin Park long enough to see each staff members 1st day there. What some some people seem to forget is that although you are renting an apartment from these people and you are paying for service, it does not give you the right to be rude or demanding. You get what you give. If you are kind, reasonable, then you get kind and reasonable in return. I think the world of the staff there and I have even had some of them over to my house after I moved!!! They are not just a staff. They are good and descent people that I am proud to call my friends!!!!! Also you must remember that it is an apartment complex. The staff are not baby sitters. The people who rent an apartment are adults...with all of the rights and privlages that being an adult offers. You can not expect the staff to restrict the visitors that a tenant has based on the car they drive or the way the visitor looks (I am responding to a particular person at this time). This is still America it is a free country and it is illegal to restrict people from having visitors just because you dissagree with the way they look and what they drive. Obviously if the police were called and responded to a situation, if there was anything illegal going on then the police would have arrested the people who were commiting the crime. In America at this time you can not arrest people because you think they might do something wrong. If you are afraid to go out of you home because you are afraid you might run into a criminal then you should never leave your home. There are convicts everywhere. See once you pay your due then you are released from jail. I never felt threatned at Crown Martin Park. I always felt safe. I allowed my daughter to roam the ground freely and swim without my presence. You see bad things can happen anywhere you are from the richest place in the world to the poorest place in the world. You just have to use common sense. My husband was recalled to active duty and my daughter and I stayed alone at Crown Martin A Lot!!!! I NEVER felt threatned!!!!!<br><br>I would advise anyone looking for an apartment to look into Crown Martin Park. It is a WONDERFUL place to live. If you are a parent looking for a place for your college kid, it is a safe place to live. If you are building a house and you need a place to live short term and you have children. I found it to be wonderful. My 15 year old daughter still misses our apartment and the staff at the apartment complex. I still miss the staff at the apartment complex!!!! They are wonderful Kind and Generous people...all of them...not just the manager and the leasing staff...all of the staff, including the Make Ready and the people who fix things. I am glad I lived there because I have aquired good and descent people as my friends!!!!! If you are retiring and looking for an apartment to live long term. It is great. There are other long term retirees there. Or if you just prefer a nice apartment to live long term then this is a good place to call HOME!!!!

Have had better experiences
Our apartment here was nice and big, and I really enjoyed it. So, if you are looking for a nice place to live and you tend to keep to yourself, you might enjoy living here. However, I have lived in complexes with MUCH friendlier and more considerate staff, as well as with neighbors who might actually say hello to each other upon passing. If these things are important to you, you might want to reconsider. However, this place is not awful. It just isn't somewhere I would encourage my personal friends and family to live.

In regards to "stoptheretaliations" writer
It seems as if "stoptheretaliations" author has gone into every comment under Crown Martin Park and put in in the response section "comment withdrawn by user", sounds like they have nothing better to do than act as another user and put untrue comments in the response section to someone elses comments. My experience at Crown Martin was one of the best I've ever had in my apartment living experiences. In fact I would still be living there if my job hadn't transfered me to another location.

A bit pricey, but well worth the money
I lived at Crown Martin from 2000 to 2001. Of all of the various apartments that I've lived at, this one was the most beautiful and well-kept. It was only a few years old when I moved in, so maybe the newness had something to do with how well it was kept. The interiors of my one-bedroom were awesome, and the exterior of the complex was very nice and well kept. I'm not sure $600 a month was worth a one-bedroom apartment, but I did get one month free upon movein, which was prorated across my lease making the rent about $550 a month. Compared to some of the dumps that I've lived in since then, spending the extra money was worth it. The location is a bit far west on Memorial, but has very easy access to the turnpike and the speedlimit on Memorial is pretty high (50 mph) to give one access to HW 74/Hefner Parkway.

Treated like dirt
Move here if you want the staff to treat you like dirt...just be prepared for it if you do move here. Beware that 1 in 4 residents here are disrespectful of others in every conceivable way, shape, and form.

Tan Oldsmobile - Be on the lookout for a prostitute & home burglar
A tan Oldsmobile pulled up blocking my garage around 1:30am last Thursday. I looked out the window and a black male was just sitting in front seat. We later found out from the police that the black male in the tan Oldsmobile was a known pimp and home burglar. We also found out from the police that this pimp/home burglar was waiting outside for a prostitute who said she was visiting someone who lives here. The prostitute was caucasian with blond hair. <br><br>The prostitute gave out a name of a resident that she claimed to be here to visit, and I have since learned that this first name was on the back of a car tag here parked right outside of the building where the prostitute was being questioned.<br><br>Needless to say, I don't know the whole story, but I am very alarmed. I wouldn't have moved in here if I had known there was even the smallest chance of being put in the position of having criminals in my driveway. I do not understand why the gates have only worked 2 or 3 days out of the 2 weeks I've been here. With what we all pay here, it seems to me that all the spare parts needed to keep the gates working should be kept ordered and in storage in the event that the gates are hit or fried by lighting since both of these are foreseeable events that must happen often around here. <br><br>This is what stinks about the whole ordeal from my perspective, and consider that anyone living here or moving in here could be placed in my position. The apartment complex would not make any arrangements to pay for a home alarm system I've now found out I need even though I took the precaution of asking extensive questions of the apartment staff to make sure this place was safe. I was assured by the staff that there was no criminal activity going on here, and now that I have had 2 criminals in my driveway, I have reasonable doubts as to how safe this place is. Plus, I now have to pay for the monitored alarm system that wasn't in my original plan to hook up, and that makes me quite mad on principle. <br><br>Another angering point is that the apartments refused to agree to any arrangements for me to transfer to a new apartment within this complex, and I was informed that no transfer would be allowed in the first 90 days of move-in, and no transfers were ever allowed without a resident deciding to up-grade to a more expensive apartment, no exceptions. So if you move into the largest 1 bedroom, you'll have the choice of moving out or upgrading to a 2 bedroom or downstairs place. IF there is a situation that calls for an exception to apartment policy, too bad. The senior office staffer told me that this was the apartment's policy, up-grade apartments or you may NOT transfer (not even to an apartment of the same size), and I was also told that there were no exceptions no matter what the situation. If I could imagine any situation that called for the apartment owners to act reasonably and make an exception to handle a situation that could lead to the physical harm of a resident, this would certainly be one of them. Do they care? It seems the answer to that one is simply, "No."<br><br>To top that off, this leaves my only other option being to move-out after I spent over $800 dollars paying for new deposits, movers, and transfer fees for all my bills. I'm already tired from moving and packing and unpacking, and would rather not have an extensive credit check run again since this could harm my credit if done more than 3 times in one year. Plus it makes me mad to think about throwing $800 down the drain for nothing.<br><br>I made an investment moving in here when I reasonably relied on being put in a safe apartment due to the promises of the leasing staff and my lease contract. Today I was informed that my safety was not the apartment's concern. Wish they'd have told me that upon move-in, because I'd not have moved in. <br><br>This complex knew that safety was a top concern for me since I would not live on the first floor for security reasons, not to mention all the questions I asked before move-in that they are required to disclose if asked. Further, now that this complex has been notified of this problem, if anyone here is harmed by a failure of the staff to act in some way to notify the residents or to alleviate this specific problem without notification, it is probable that residents would have a valid legal claim that could be made against this apartment complex. <br><br>Apartment complexes must act as a reasonable person similarly situated would act to insure the safety of residents. The staff may claim that this is not so, but they are not lawyers, so legal advice from them will be ignored by me in place of the precedent legal cases. It's never good policy to take legal advice offered by anyone besides a bar certified attorney, much less from a business that has a stake in you not finding out the extent of their legal obligations.<br><br>Finally, I want to provide the last bit of information I wish I had had before moving here so that no others will be placed in my shoes unknowingly if they do a minimal amount of research to check for red flags that matter to them on this site. Moving in here cost me an unplanned upon investment in several weapons which I now have to live with loaded and crammed in hiding places all over my apartment. I would not say that living with weapons in the home is an ideal situation. I have never lived with guns in my home, but do not have much choice in the matter now that I have more questions than answers about what these criminals were actually doing inside this "gated" apartment community.<br><br>I now have to have someone here to stay with me all the time because of this incident, and believe you me, I am always home and will be keeping my eyes peeled for tan Oldsmobiles or the faces of either of the two criminals that were found in our parking lot. If you do not have a male who can come stay with you at night, you should probably move to a place than these apartments. That's my opinion. <br><br>I have only lived here 2 weeks and already run into a home burglar and pimp being parked outside my apartment. I have now seen a real prostitute. Three things I have never seen firsthand that I never wanted to see near where I live. I cannot say that this place is safe or unsafe, take the info provided by everyone on this site and draw your own conclusions. All that I can say is that I have my regrets about picking this place. The apartments are nice, but what good is that if one doesn't feel safe living inside.<br><br>I've chosen 3 bad apartment complexes in a row. I miss the good ones I lived in before I had to move to OKC. Are there any apartment complexes in the OKC area that are owned and managed by anyone who cares about anything besides the bottom line as the one and only concern? <br><br>I understand corporate America's main agenda is to make the largest profit that they can make, no matter who they have to screw over or push around, but for all basic purposes, I have been forced to keep living here by the rigid staff sticking to bad policy that says that no resident may transfer apartments UNLESS they are upgrading to a more expensive apartment. In other words, residents can't move to an available smaller apartment UNLESS the move in some way profits the apartment complex beyond the cost of getting the apartment ready. <br><br>I even offered to pay the same amount I'm paying now, but not more, for a smaller apartment that is normally rented out for less than what I'm paying now just so I could move out of the middle of an unsafe situation I was moved into unbeknownst to me at the time of my move-in. I guess my offer to over-pay for a smaller apartment was not profitable enough to cancel out the cost of them getting the smaller apartment ready, so I can go jump off a cliff for all they care...which is basically what I've been told in different words. <br><br>The apartment complex would not even try to work with me to be fair in this unsettling situation. I don't know about you, but is this the kind of treatment you expected when the staff was telling you about how fair they are to all their residents? <br><br>I feel like an idiot that I fell for this. I was fed full of it before move-in, bought it - hook, line, and sinker, and was disappointed in being told by the apartment staff that this matter was not their problem and not their concern to make right to me as an individual resident who thought I was paying more for the good reason of a safer place to live. Pass the buck, it's the new American way. This complex has got it down pat. <br><br>I'm very disappointed in this place. I thought they would treat me better as an individual renter whom I thought they cared about doing right by. Apparently, as the big picture is coming into focus, the apartment comples does NOT care about doing right by any of us, so we must watch out for each other and take it upon ourselves to notify each other of problems. <br><br>I was threatened by the senior office staffer that I would be in violation of my lease if talked in person to other residents here to tell them to keep an eye out for tan Oldmobiles with people inside matching the description of the criminals who were found inside this apartment complex. If that lease violates the 1st Amendment and freedom of speech to tell the truth, then I'm not worried about that part of the lease holding up in court, because I can't imagine any situation where the court would take away my guaranteed civil rights that an apartment tried to take away in a contract of cohesion. <br><br>I was also shuffled inside a back office when answering questions about this situation because they do not want anyone here to know that we all have a problem to watch out for. Might be bad for business to notify the residents of what they need to be on the look-out for so that we all stay safe. This apartment complex only watches out for themselves. <br><br>Watch the news to see if they run this story. I've asked that the media investigate and report this incident so that all here will know and be protected by being armed with what information is available. I'm disgusted that this apartment complex does not want residents to know about criminals, especially the home burglar, being in our parking lot. Are profits now worth more to Crown Martin than ethical standards, much less someone's life or safety?<br>

good experience till i moved!!!
i lived at crown martin for over a year and had a good experience. parking is a nightmare, parking spots all crammed together.<br>if you have a nice car you will have it dinged up and dented the first week you are there. office staff was always nice to me and was quick to respond if i had any problems. Always remember treat people the way you want to be treated!! Saying Thank-You<br>goes along way!! When I moved out was another story!!! I gave a 60 day notice with one month left on my lease,i was still required to pay that last month, which i did not pay and still dont understand why i needed to after giving a 60 day notice. yet if you are evicted you dont have to pay the remainder of your lease. that still pisses me off!! Management walked my apartment and said everything looked great( i even windexed the windows OUTSIDE)!!! but when i was turned over to a collection agency they said that management said i left my apartment dirty and didnt give a notice, that i just moved out in the middle of the night!!<br>couldnt believe it!!! of course the management says they Never said that!! so up till that point i had a great experience just be very careful when you move out and signing anything!!! so because of the situation after i moved out i couldnt recommend crown martin.

NIGHTMARE ON MEMORIAL
This was one of the most horrific experiences I've ever encountered. The office staff are extremely dishonest and lack integrity (lying, damaging personal property, and personal slander). The apt. was NEVER repaired, very dirty upon move-in and the entire saga was a pure nightmare.

THEY LIE ABOUT RENT
It was so exciting to be told that such a beautiful home would be under $600. Then the day of move in, we found out that the rate would jump $200 after our first year! That was too late for us to find a new home, now we are in a financial bind. Talk about a front with their promise of maintenance, our windows didn't open for 2 months! Also, the tenants are so bitter by the bad management they take it out on one another, my car was towed the second day I lived at CMP. No one communicates in the office, I have HATED every day I drive in the OPEN gates.

Nice apartment living , signed my 3rd lease
I've really enjoy the Crown Martin Park community...Being a single business professional I love my 3rd floor 2 bedroom apartment with a large balcony that I can see Martin Nature Park from...It's pretty cool to watch the Hawks flying over the park looking for prey ( mice ) and enjoying a cup of java in the monring on the balcony..Maintenance has always done a good job and management is one class act , I've lived in 4 states and this is without a doubt the best management I've seen in apartments...Great location , great area of town , very quiet neigbors ( in almost 3 years I've only had to complain about noise once and it was resolved right away, that person moved out after their lease ). If you are a single or couple professionals ( or with a small child ) this is a great place...I think for larger families any apartment is just not accomendating however for me my place is a perfect size and really looks great...The pool and landscaping looks great and the gates and security cameras are appreciated...Yes parking is a challenge if you have guest, however that is dwarfed by the overall ementies and location.. ( plus with minimum parking is does keep the younger tenants from making their home a party place for their college pals )...Overall a great place to live , I LOVE it !!!!!

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE!!!!!!!!
The entire time I lived at CMP I had a tough time communicating to obtain resolution on any issue. Issues being that parking sucks; no one in the office communicates with each other much else the manager; maintenance does not repair everything in a timely fashion and or as needed; you have to work around the managements schedule not yours if you wish to accomplish anything. Basically look somewhere else this place is not worth your time or money. The management team of this complex will do nothing to help your issues, they do not care at all if you make complaints, and the manager always claims to have no knowledge of what is going on. Please do not move in here, it will be the worse decision you ever make.

18 Months & I'm still a Happy Camper!
I moved here in August 2003. Had a bit of a time at first with an extremely ill-behaved neighbor above me, but I've since moved into a quieter building. I'm in a 1-bedroom, w/ and attached garage. I can't complain about parking, because of the luxury of having a private attached garage. Wish everyone could have this option available to them. I have a great view of Crown Martin Preservation Park, and yes I can hear the flow of the Kilpatrick Turnpike, but only from outside on my patio. The maintence folks have always been responsive to my requests. I think I'll stay a while longer. :-)

Only lived there 90 days but is was the longest 90 days of my life.
This place is close to the turnike and a very busy road. I saw people just hanging around in the front parking lot. <br>The renters do not keep their dogs on leashes. When we did move out of this apartment there were many people within a one month time frame that moved out. Wonder what was going on? Probably alot of people unhappy about the same things. <br>Parking is a joke. A family of four rents a two bedroom two bath apartment and only gets one parking space and then you have to battle the ants during the summer, spring and fall. I actually had ants in my car crawling up my arms and legs as I was driving to work. Like I said not a good experience.

I Highly Recommend!!!
I moved into Crown Martin Park the beginning of June 2004 and have had a wonderful living experience so far! I have a large one bedroom and it is in excellent condition. The staff has been overly accommodating and extremely friendly towards me. Jennifer and Brenda are fabulous! So is the rest of the staff! They know me on a first name basis and make a point to help me in any way they can! If I ever have a concern or need something fixed it is immediately attended to. I always get a follow up call to see if I am satisfied with the services. In regards to the review posted 9/15/2004...the grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The pool has always been clean and very enjoyable. I have not seen any problems with stairs falling apart or structural problems anywhere. I also haven't seen any broken/not working drive-in gates. They have done something to the walk-thru combination gates inside the property by the office so they do not lock anymore-I'm not sure the reasoning behind that. I do think that it is time for a new paint job on some of the weathered sides of the buildings but other than that I think they are in extremely good condition. These apartments were only built a few years ago so it is expected that they are maintained and in excellent condition. I can never hear my neighbors on either side of me and the community is generally very quiet. I have never had or heard of any problems with other tenants having out of control parties or noise complaints. It is a very family oriented complex with friendly tenants. I have never had a problem with my T-1 internet service. It is always extremely fast no matter what time of day it is. It's understandable if you own a very old computer from the 80's that you might have speed problems. I think the apartments are very well lit except up front by the office and dumpster. Overall I feel very safe living here and you can check the Crime Tracker on Newsok.com and see we have minimal to no crime here. Parking is an issue at times. Everyone has assigned spots & at rare times someone may park in yours and yes it can be annoying. That has only happened to me once and management took care of that for me on the spot. Other than that you have to tow them. There are very few guest spots so friends or family must park up front by the office in my case. I would like to see CMP try to expand the parking lot if at all possible. I have also referred two friends here and when one moved in I did receive $100. That friend has been extremely happy with their experience here as well. These apartments are beautiful with tons of aminities and are considered luxury living in an upscale apartment community. People that have a negative attitude towards life in general will probably never have a good experience anywhere they live. This is just my personal opinion and experience about living in CMP and I respect everyone else's opinions and reviews as well. Anyone considering living here really needs to come check it out for themselves. I think they will see what a great place this is to call home.
