Disappointed
We were very interested in moving to Hatfield Village secondary to the location. So needless to say that we were extremely disappointed with the staff's lack of professionalism and lack of response to requests from the very beginning. They attempted to pressure us into giving a deposit before seeing the actual apartment (which looked very different from the model). We were dismissed when we brought valid concerns regarding the condition of the apartment. Staff was rude including complaining about another resident while we were in the waiting area. Onsite staff blamed offsite staff and vice versa for all of the issues. Questions were blatantly ignored despite multiple attempts. Luckily we found a complex where the staff actually wants our business...Glad we didn't fall for the amazing "deals" at Hatfield Village.

Note to anyone considering this place.
Read EVERY review on here that you can. I can tell you what I think but it will just be a repeat of everyone else who agree that this place is "AWFUL". (Unless you like noise, smell, crime, poor management, BUGS, drugs, trash, etc....) enough said.

love it
my husband and i are moving in the hatfield area and were told to check out the hatfield village apts. we are looking for a 2 bedroom apt. since we can not afford to buy a home at this time. i have to say i just loved it, especially the personnel. they were very friendly and knowledgeable especially the manager jo anne. i loved the layout and the convenience of being located close to the main highways, which has plenty of stores, banks, restaurants, etc. i highly recomment this complex to anyone moving in this area. i feel it is just perfect for us... and we are awaiting our credit appoval and cant wait to move in asap.....

ridiculous
Unfortunately, i could not come and see the apt before I rented it. I strongly reccommend if you plan on moving here to MAKE SURE YOU DO..... i'm stuck living in a unit that looks NOTHING like the units in the photos, and DOES NOT have a dishwasher, when it clearly states that the units have dishwashers.Mine Does not... and the rent is 905.00 a month.(2 bedroon)the kitchen looks nothing like the pics, theres only about 5-6 cabinets, and hardly any counter space. The bathroom is disgusting the toilet has to be about 20 years old, it's scratched to hell inside, so it looks like it's dirty, and so does the sink. Unfortunately, I'm stuck here, cause I can't afford to move.... :( and today i called maintenence to come fix the washer, they told me I have to call the washer company to have it fixed, I had to go downstairs get all the numbers off the washer, and call the company. I would think that maintenence could at least make the call. how freakin lazy.si my clothes are locked in there, and didn't get washed. I'm pissed.I have alot to do today. and this is really holding me up. the com[pany told me to unplug it for 20 min. but if I do that I'll lose the 1.30 i put in.she said someone will be out.I hope so!

Best Maintenance, resolve any issue within 24 to 48 hours. Parking, exterior, interior, everything is very good. I am here from 2001 and efficient service from the maintenance department is the one of the reason I am here from that long period of time. besides ample parking space, apartment interior is nice, large living room and bedroom, nice big windows, full of air and light, nice park, swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, play ground, wide roads etc. many reasons. in year 2001 when I had no car, apartment's courtesy shuttle van was so useful to me. gym also had longer hours in earlier years. after recession they have to reduce hours of gym and courtesy shuttle service. what I do not like is kitchen has no ventilation, too dark, need lights on 24/7, Laundry facility managed by third party and not very good,I always go to public laundromat outside.(all aprtment complex laundry facility are more or less the same.) My apartment unit is one of the few unit underneath which drainage passes and which is vulnerable to sewage water back up inside apartment, on the floor, when there is heavy rain and creek in complex overflows. (they never disclose that.) In 2006 and 2010 when it was heavy rain, sewage water backed up in my apartment unit and I had to suffer stress, lot of hassle like moving furniture and some loss like whatever on floor is totally wet and matresses etc I have to throw away. But the silver lining of this black cloud is both the time maintenance dept provide their best service and replace carpet of whole apartment. They hired outside company for doing that. That company does the job very well and moved my heavy furniture carefully in the apartment from one corner to other as needed while changing the carpets. It seems to me that the office people has not much authority except leasing the apartments. Before couple years they allow pets to my building, I got letter from Scully co that if I prefer to transfer, let them know. When I went to office they said they know nothing about that and ask me to conatct Scully co directly. Then after sewage water back up I went to office to ask about transfer to better unit or on second floor, again they says contact Scully co. So its like Aprtment office and Scully co are two different entities. Except this kind of some incident overall it is happy, comfortable, enjoyable experience is to live her. (some other places may have bigger issues than those, who knows?) So overall it is the best living experience.

Not renewing lease this time around
There is no way I would renew my lease this upcoming term if Scully Company paid me. The people who work in the management office are the rudest people I have ever come across. The maintenance department are a bunch of morons. They can't follow simple directions such as YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED IN MY APARTMENT UNATTENDED (even after SEVERAL times being told). The back door has been broken for at least a year - which is how I assume kids get in and do their drugs and leave garbage everywhere. The people in my building leave their beer cans / wine BOXES (classy, huh??) under the mailboxes in the foyer area. The dirtballs upstairs leave a trail of trash / dirty diapers / rotten food from their apartment where the trash bag ripped all the way to the dumpster. The woman upstairs lets her kid RUN around all day. The bugs are all over the place (I have asked for the exterminator a couple of times, and was told this last time from the exterminator that if they don't tell them what bugs they are, they won't do anything, and looking at his records, they don't tell them the right stuff - again, MORONS in the maintenace department). I missed the 3 month deadline for notifying the office that I wanted to terminate my lease last time by 9 days, and I was told they couldn't do anything for me. Yet, I ask for calls back, and don't get responses for more than 9 days, or submit maintenance requests and do not hear back for more than 9 days (even after sending SECOND and THIRD requests!!). IF you consider moving here, please think again. There is nothing good about these apartments, AT ALL.

I've had some problems with this apartment here and there, but I would say that the lease manager (JoAnne) is highly helpful and kind. She always resolves any problems that may arise. She's very busy, so it's a challenge to get through, but when you do she is always helpful. I don't put energy into rating apartments ever, but I figured I'd write this review because I was highly satisfied with the help I got. The rooms are a nice size, although I do hear some noises from the neighbors. The pool and the work out room are nice bonuses. I do wish there were more washers and dryers... Had ups and downs here but if you talk to the right person your experience can be pleasant. As well, the maintenance people are very helpful.

Look Elsewhere
There are so many other places that provide a place called home. They have what is called a fitness center but are only open minimum of hours and for the amount of residents they have the bare necessities. I happen to live in a dog building and I think there are more dogs than people living in the complex because today I went outside and smelled dog crap. I found mold growing on the wall in the closet. The swimming pool that was just opened don't bother because the kids are unruly, the water is cloudy and the deep end has been closed for over a week. There is only one wash and one dryer per 12 apartments which means a laundrymat visit every week and yet the rents keep going up while they keep taking things away. Yes it's hard to speak to anyone especially the management staff because they are always busy. You can find a better place for the price, I would recommend that you take it.

Horrible COMMUNITY Manager
Before the end of my 1 year lease, I received a letter from JoAnne MALCOM asking me to call her to talk about why I am leaving and if there is something they can do for me to stay, I called her and left a voice message several times but she failed to respond to my call. I also call on several occasion to speak with her secretary/or whOever and she said she will have JoAnne or someone from the leasing office to call me back but I guess SHE never got hold of anyone for 3 months. That is so disrespectful and unprofessional.

Not Recommended.
circa2007 This place is definitely not remommended. To make things easier I'll just make a list of the issues I (family included) has had. T1 Building: - Roaches (no matter how clean apartment is!) - Mice (under oven!) - Centipedes (constant problem) - Stink bugs - Ants - Gnats - Bees - Ladybugs - Neighbors (very noisy, door slams, music, obnoxious, etc.) - Poor construction (weak floors, cheap doors, poorly installed windows, doors have no shock absorbent, etc.) - Small laundry space - Parking area constantly flooded when downpour arrives - Cheap window blinds - Fire alarm sets off whenever steam from shower has contact with it (causing mold, mildew from door being closed with trapped heat and moisture) - The list goes on and on. Not bad for $950.00 right? For more info: contact amsterdam.amsterdam@rocketmail.com

Obnoxious
I have lived in the Hatfield Village Apartments for just about a month now and it has been one of the worst living experiences I've ever had! I regret the day I signed a year-long lease! Children leave their bikes unattended in hallways, parking spaces, walkways, and just about anywhere else you want to walk. They are ridiculously noisy, run up and down the stairs and in the hallways, loiter in the lobbys and on the front steps, scratch cars, throw balls and toys in the parking areas, and are just plain obnoxious. You can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do from taking showers, to talking, to listening to music, to washing dishes, to vacuuming their floors, to walking, to opening and closing doors, to watching their TV's, etc... I can't get to sleep until the wee hours of the morning EVERY NIGHT becuase neighbors are still awake. There are bugs everywhere. Little gnats fit through the window screens and have infested every room of my house. I lie in bed at night awake from noisy neighbors and can feel little flies crawling on me. Centipedes are also everywhere. The bedroom window leaks profusely. The maintenance staff has responded quickly to my phone calls, but I don't feel that they adequately mend issues. I can't wait for my lease to end. I would rather pay more for a quieter, cleaner apartment!!

Not a good place to live
I lived in Hatfield village for almost 3 years. In the beginning it was fine...quiet, clean, no major problems. However, within the last year the quality of the people living there has really gone down hill. I had very noisy neighbors who would leave trash out in the hallways for days. The security doors were a joke, they were always propped open and the locks were broken. The front door to my building had a broken lock for 6 months before someone fixed it (and yes, numerous calls were made about this). The laundr situation is not good, 1 washer and dryer for 12 apartments is a logistical nightmare. The front desk staff and leasing consultants were rude and gave bad information most times. The only good thing I could find about this place was that maintenance was very timely and always fixed everything correctly. And the maintenance lady who answers the phone there was always very nice. I also had an incident where someone tried to steal the tires off my car one night. The front desk was not concerned at all and completely brushed off my complaints. I never felt safe there, even living with a dog and my fiance. I would not recommend this place to single women.

I lived at Hatfield Village for 6 months and found it to be an overall ok experience. I do think it all depends on what building you're in. I was in a building on one of the outer edges of the property and found it to be pretty quiet. When I drove through the middle areas of the complex though, it looked like it could get crowded. The security doors in the hallways were slightly annoying. The one outside my apartment slammed occasionally. I hardly used the laundry facilities because I found it to be too time consuming (1 washer and dryer for 12 apartments is a little ridiculous). There was a laundromat less than 5 minutes away where I could get all my laundry done in about an hour (and it was a little cheaper). Ok, yes, there were some bugs, but it certainly wasn't an infestation. I would see maybe 3 a week (again, could depend on building). I was there mainly in the summer and moved out in October, so I didn't have a problem with the cold, but I bet it gets pretty chilly in the apartments in the winter--it was starting to get colder when I moved out. I will say my kitchen was really nice--new cabinets, counter, floor, microwave (I got an apartment with upgrades, cost extra) and the carpet was new when I moved in. I had to call maintenance twice: once to unclog my garbage disposal, and once to fix the locks on the windows. Both times they responded quickly. It's not a luxury apartment by any means. I previously lived in a rowhouse in center city Philly and found Hatfield Village to be a step up (of course that's not saying much!) Hatfield village is a decent, cheap place to live, but if you're expecting high-class living, you're going to be disappointed.

ROACH INFESTED!!! BEWARE!!
I moved to Hatfield Village in late summer of 2007. 2 months into my stay i realizeded why rent was so cheap; ROACHES! I called the front office several times to complain, but nothing was done. The people in my building would leave their rotting garbage outside thier door in the hallway. It smelled like a 3rd world country. It was so bad i had to move out. DO NOT LIVE HERE! LIVE IN THE STREET!

I've lived in worse. . .
I've lived in the Village for almost 3 years, but will not be renewing my lease for next year. It was fairly nice when I first moved in, but this past year has been far from ideal. The apartments are NOT sound proof!! I live in a 1 bedroom, but because I can hear everything that the neighbors upstairs are doing, it is like having roommates. Literally, I know when they are going to the bathroom, because they drop the toilet lid!! If you don't want to be bothered by noisy, ignorant neighbors, I highly suggest living elsewhere. Maybe some of the other buildings are better, but I find it hard to believe. The laundry facility (or lack thereof) has just been upgraded, but there is STILL only one washer and dryer for 12 units in the bldg. Plus, if you want to put money on your laundry card, you will have to do so in accordance with management's office hours since they keep the money adding machines under lock and key. It is not a convenient way to do laundry. Maintenance is fine. I've never really had a problem with them not responding to a request, though my toilet is currently duct taped together. I try to avoid the management office since most of my concerns seem to fall on deaf ears. I do my best to be considerate of other tenants, but it is extremely hard to care when doors are constantly being slammed, objects being dropped, surround sound systems being blared, and dog feces is left outside to lay in the grass because people do not pick up after their pets. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the bugs. They are here. And there are quite a few.

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE
This place is a dump. The neighbors are ignorant to you unless you are the same race, the maint. department still hasn't fixed items I requested to be fixed since I moved in 1 year ago. There is no peace and quiet. EVER. You share a building with 12 aparments in it. I am on the third floor and still get awakened by the doors slamming on the ground floor. There are cochroaches. Laundry facilities are poor and dirty. There are drafts from every possible orifice that can be found. (enough to blow out a match on a moderately windy day)

Oh no, its nice at first but never again!
When I first went to the rental office to view the model they had of their two bed room apartment I was impressed, management was nice and the landscaping was beautiful. But the day we moved and I saw our apartment I was a little dissapointed, lets just say that I now see why they have a model apartment and wouldnt let me see the actual apartment I was going to rent. Big difference but I wont get into that. Rent is ridiculous for this apartment, no central air, no w/d, no patio and you share an entrance with the 12 apartments in the building. The security doors are a pain the ---. The doors slam, my neighbors are extreamly loud. Someone puked on the stairs about 2 weeks ago and management has yet to do anything to clean it up, even after we complained. Maintnence is not timly at all, I waited over a week for my dishwasher to be fixed and they didnt do it right the first time and I waited another 4 days to have them come out again. You will wait days for anything to be fixed. THERE IS NEVER ANY PARKING!!!! I have 2 kids and I end up parking across 2 parking lots. The parks and pool are dirty. Found a condom on the slide. Beer bottles outside in the bush. I see a poor man cleaning up everyones mess every morning but it is just to much for just one person! Oh and there is only one set of washer/dryer on the ground floor to 12 apartments, that is a nightmare, I have to take my clothes else where to be washed. Virtually everything regarding your lease and some complains arent even delt with through the main office you have to call the actual company that owns the place. Rent goes up significantly every year, I am talking like 20.00 or more monthly. This is not the worst place you could live but I would only recommend this apartment for first timers, young adults or someone looking for a short term lease somewhere, after all else fails. Definitly a place you will get sick off, not for long term stay. People come and go out of here like flys, I've seen them just during my short stay. Top rated community...my ---. Oh yeah I forgot to add the blood stains still on the hall carpet and missing glass that still needs to be replaced after someone punched three holes in the wall and broke the glass, I pay my rent and I deserve for my non-smoking family to not smell cigarette smoke and marujuana in my apartment.

Love my apartment
I recently moved in to Hatfield Village & I absolutely love it. My apartment has all of the upgrades (which i did have to request). New refrigerator, newer carpet, new microwave, all new ceiling fixtures. I did have a problem with the heater in my living room when i first moved in, i called the maintenance dept & they were there within the hour! Everyone in the office went above & beyond to help me with my apartment. The only thing I can think reading these bad reviews is that these people must have not been the greatest tenants to begin with (just going by some of the spelling & grammar used suggests some other things as well!) I love my building, it is so quite. All of my neighbors are very polite. I would definately recommend Hatfield Village!!!

Everyone has Got An Opinion
I just read all of the comments. That's why we have freedom of speech. My thoughts are that Hatfield Village is a nice place to live. I love my apartment, the neighbors are nice and so are the grounds. I have had nothing but a pleasant experience. The leasing staff was very nice to my husband and I. They treated us very professionally. The receptionist was nice and helpful. They served coffee and cookies to us upon our first visit. We are pleased tenants. We never experienced any problems with any of the staff not wanting to assist us. Maintenance comes out to service your needs in a timely fashion. I would say overall that Hatfield Village is a nice place to call home.

The worst Customer Service
Recently I had applied for an apartment with one of the leasing people (Sean, who from day one seemed the least bit interested in my needs. I called him several times and not once, did he ever return my call. Have you seen the Comcast commercial with the "Slowskies"? He must be the son. This was the worst customer service I have ever encounter. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
