It was more of a resort than an apartment complex. We met so many new and fantastic folks here. After a year the nature of the area changed as rental places do. There was no social events for us older crowd so I started a coffee meeting every Wednesday morning. And after almost a year we have 8 to 10or more to meet for coffee and sweets ( baked by the residents) every Week. We start at 8:30 and chat until usually around 11 and really enjoy ourselves. The front office has been most gracious to help but the meeting itself is ours and we like it that way. Anyone is welcomed to join us at our regular coffee and our events away from the site.

Very happy with response time and staff. Happy with the appearance of the grounds. The only complaints I have are the apartments numbers should be better illuminated and the parking for residents is a pain at certain buildings. I think the community should go to resident parking with decals and visitors park elsewhere in further off areas. Also enforcement of the handicapped parking, vehicles parked there without a handicap tag should be towed. And the IMPLEMNTATION of a 15 mintue parking spot close to the door.

It's by far the prettiest apartment I've ever lived in. I love the space, the openness, and the general feel of the place. It feels like home. Our only issues have been with the neighbors behind us (not part of the apartment community) who leave their dogs out at night. It kept us awake for a while, but we got a noise machine, and that's helped a lot. Otherwise, no problems!

My one bedroom, 3rd floor unit isn't all that bad considering it's my first apartment. Only complaints are that my sliding glass door was installed upside down, which was done so the doors would slide right to left I'm thinking. It makes sense, however, because of this there are sealing issues and drafts had to be blocked with blankets in the winter to avoid high heating bills. Walls and floors are decent for sound deadening. Had a family with 2-3 small kids (5 and younger) next door and could only hear them when they were screaming or running. Not too bad but just an FYI that you will hear somethings. I have a single guy that lives below me and has a tendency to slam doors or simply let them swing shut and a few times I've jumped from his front door swinging shut as it shakes the floor. You will hear people walking up the stairs no matter how soft of walkers they are. Thankfully on the 3rd floor I don't have much foot traffic, but when kids run up the stairs you will feel it and it will sound like a stampede. That's one of the downsides to having wood stairwells. I feel bad for the 1st floor units, I'll just say that. This is apartment living and you will hear others but I feel the floors and wall aren't too bad here at Brookwood. Since I'm on the top floor I can't comment on how bad or good it is if there is someone living above you. P.s, I'm in a back unit, and I face away from the parking lot which I thought would be great, but then I found out that one of the houses that is in the neighboring neighborhoods has 3-4 large dogs. Not uncommon for them to bark until 2-3a.m. One tenant lost her cool and started screaming at them around 1a.m. Needless to say, since I work from home I've vented words at the dogs too. There's also a daycare center next to the house with dogs and so around mid-afternoon you will hear kids screaming as they have recess for one hour. The noise issues here aren't with the community in the complex, all my issues stem with the houses I border. Just FYI when viewing the units, the back building "5" away from the parking lot looks great scenically, but comes with what I think is the worst noise because of the daycare and the dogs.

The office staff has always answered any questions or concerns with professionalism. It's comforting to know that there are knowledgeable and courteous people in the office. Daniel, Julie, Megan and Kenny are all great! This is my second year here. I have lived in different complexes before and this community is the best by far!

Very nice area. Property always looks nice. Staff extremely friendly and the laundry area is outstanding to use. Having an area to wash your car was a very well planned idea. Work out area is always clean and very comfortable to use. I would recommend living here to everyone.

The staff at Brookwood are always pleasant at all times. Maintence is very friendly and always clean up the area they are working in. When we call about a problem they are always prompt about fixing the problem. I feel that random inspections of the property should be done also and also that residents do not bring in pets to the clubhouse, gymn and the laundry rooms. This problem has happened as I have witnessed it. I think that children in the clubhouse should also be supervised in which they are suppose to be but sometimes does not happen. Mr Windle and I are very happy in the complex and have been here now going on 5 years and are proud to call it our home. I do think that we need to send out letters to all residents about smoking and throwing down their cigarettes on the hallways and sidewalks.

The staff is really friendly and helpful. The area is really convenient if you work in greenville. There is a big dog park that is great to give your furry friend some needed exercise. The pool area is resort like. The other residents are nice and friendly from my experience.

Friendly staff and friendly neighbors. Great amenities and great location. I love it here. My only complaints are that my upstairs neighbor sometimes makes too much noise by walking too loud and the parking spots can stand to be a little bigger. Other than that, its great here.

Brookwood apartments are a great place to live. The living space, pool, and community center make it a pleasure to live in this community. The car wash facility is excellent, and maintenance services are outstanding. Simply a Great place to live!

Where did all the previous (not so good) review disappear? THINK TWICE before moving into these apartments with kids. There is almost NO insulation. Our neighbours downstairs lodged a first complaint just two weeks after we moved in accusing my child of running and jumping. We have one child that has travelled the world, lived on 4 continents and basically grew up on aeroplanes sitting quietly for hours!!! What the ..Last week we used the outside facilities and had a few friends over for a BBQ outside. We came up to our apartment as it was getting cold outside and spent an hour and a half inside with my child and a few of his friends. The rent a cop they have on sight was called at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. Also we hear our neighbour's dog upstairs and it sounds like they have a pet elephant upstairs. I can go on and on We have lived in MANY apartments before and this is the worst (noise wise and having what sounds like NO insulation)!

It has been a long time since I lived in an apartment and I have taken that into consideration with my comments. The staff initially seemed very nice and accommodating. I soon realized they are not authentic in their concerns or care for residents. Pros: dog parks, parking, convenient location, landscaping, fitness center, laundry center. Cons: trash all around complex - cigarette buts, candy wrappers, banana peels, beer and soda cans, chip bags etc..., one trash compartment at entrance often overflowing and unsightly, zero sound proofing - people above sound like elephants, music transfers to neighboring apartments, residents and guests going up and down stairwells very disruptive, excessive pool noise, doors slamming due to poor construction; police on site routinely due to domestic issues; not a gated community; cars broken into; car wash center - vacuum system doesn't always work and hoses not long enough to wash even a small car; poorly insulated windows and doors; extra fees for water, trash, pest control and to pay rent online; neighbors unfriendly and some are downright creepy; staff inconsistent - sometimes nice and sometimes not so nice, often complain of workload and seem burdened by requests for help, lots of turnover, grumpy maintenance man, requests to collect packages seem like they are doing you a favor; carpet - no choice in flooring; flimsy blinds. This complex is overpriced and it seems they will rent to anyone to avoid vacancies. I have no way to compare to other apartments, but know this was not the right place for us. Glad to have found a home!

Living at 535 Brookwood has been enjoyable, neighbors are friendly, staff in the office and maintenance are always helpful and friendly. When I have called into the office for minor maintenance the response is within the same day or next. A detail note is left for what work they did and I received a follow up call from the office to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction. The location of 535 Brookwood is convenient to downtown and 385, you can be most anywhere in Greenville in 20 mins. The surrounding area has great places for running, riding your bike and walking. The inside of the clubhouse is always kept clean and the work out room has enough equipment that you won't need a gym membership. Moving into 535 Brookwood has been a good choice and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, clean and well done apartment complex.

Welcome to a nightmare on 535 Brookwood Point Place where a rental agreement means absolutely nothing when property management fail to hold tenants accountable for breaking rules and policies in their rental agreement. I lived there for five months with non stop dog barking from my next door neighbor that started at 5:13am everyday and went on through out the day.I know dogs bark and I'm a total animal lover with my whole heart and even support the ASPCA and Bideawee. What happened to my tenant rights coming home from work to a relaxing and quiet place. STATUTORY NUISANCE I believe it's called but the property management calls it if you don't like it you can leave. I have a cat that got so stressed out from the annoying barking that it caused permanent damage to his eye and is now on valium and zanax for anxiety for the rest of his life. When the vets bills began to escalate and ------------- was approached he told me that a complaint has to be reasonable while ---------------- made idiot noises in the background I then explained what if that was your child and got no response just as I thought. When I called his boss ------------- from MAA he thought it was a joke. And then I called his boss -------------- from MAA she practically laughed at me and said we don't pay vet bills. No one wants to take any type of accountability for the negative behaviors displayed here from this incident. I decided to pursue extra help from the BBB who believe I've a valid complaint which I filed a month ago but ------------- failed to reply back to them with a response. BBB suggested that I take this case to small claims court ans sue them for the maximum allowance I'm entitled to.To anyone out there looking to rent I strongly suggest you seek out places to rent before considering 535 Brookwood or any MAA properties. After losing my mom last year and the status of my cat is not looking very good at this point all do to 535 Brookwood and MAA having bad buisness practices. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Tenants Beware. Read your contract before signing anything." I do not recommend this place to anyone!! For the 5 months I lived there the health of the cats I own got worse and the vet bills piled up quickly. The neighbors next door let their dog bark continually and let him run around on the breezeway scratching at neighbors doors. This caused stress to the cats and one of them almost lost his eye because of the dog. When the issue was addressed to the property manager nothing was done and I was lied to about statutory nuisance they created. We had a contract for a year but was forced to find another place to live because the situation just kept getting worse. 535 Brookwood was also in breach of their contract for allowing this behavior to continue. They would rather keep tenants who have been there since the apartments opened up even though they let their dog disrupt the lives of the tenants next door and break every rule imaginable in the lease agreement. The property management and MAA are a joke when it comes to breaching their own lease agreement. PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULD NEVER THROW STONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all it is a pleasure to take some time out of my day to write this review as a current resident since 2012. My name on my lease is Gale O. Travis and currently live at apartment # 516. For those who will be doing an overall evaluation of various complexes, I would like to say that 535 Brookwood should receive a grade of A or 100 %. Even though my time at the apartment complex is relatively short ( 6 months)with a remaining 7, it has been as I mentioned in my first sentence an absolute pleasure dealing with all the support staff. Over the last 6 months, I had notified the office of 2 minor issues both of which were addressed in less then 2 hours after the call. This is just unheard of in todays working enviorment and all concerned should be acknowledge for that in a positive way. People today, and I will stay with our residents often complain first however, the complaining party should follow up if the complaint has been resolved to their satisfaction. This is why I am taking this time to make sure our Support Staff and Management receive some sort of cudos for the jobs they do day in and day out. Speaking of Management at 535 Brookwood, I would like to let all know that we have an onsite Manager by the name of Daniel Malone. Daniel Malone is an exceptionable young man, knows his position and looks forward to serving his residents. Everytime I had a question whether in the Office or see him around the Complex he makes time to answer or will find a solution either immediately or within a couple of hours. Just a knowledgeable, sincerely and descent person. Finally, I would like to write that if I take my time for this overview, that someone should take their time to evaluate what is being said. This has turned out to be a very pleasant experience and will be looking forward to have a long stay at 535 Brookwood Point Place Simpsonville, SC 29681 Thank you, Gale O. Travis - Unit # 516

This a wonderful community to rent. It's in a great location; we feel safe; the grounds are beautiful; the floor-plans are open; our neighbors are friendly and the staff is very attentive. I would recommend these apartments to anyone, however, I want to point out some issues that are - more than likely - an issue at any apartment community. If these bother you, you should probably consider buying as opposed to renting. The windows here are very cheap which causes a serious moisture issue on the window sills. We developed a habit of wiping off the water every other day. Sometimes we forget and a bit of mold starts growing so we have to spray Mold Control plus a mold/mildew/bleach cleaner to get rid of it. The dog poop is also a problem, but you'll find that anywhere you rent. Management can enforce penalties and accept "red-handed" photos from other residents but there will always be the -------s who don't pick up after their pets. The clubhouse computers are very slow and barely operational. The walls are thin and we hear our upstairs neighbor stomping around often...Again, this is apartment living. If you don't want to hear neighbors, then you should buy your own house. Until my family can buy our own home, we are very happy to be here. P.S. Some advice before signing the lease: Make sure you understand all costs associated with living here...and moving out of here. Once we found out, we joked that instead of saying they "nickel and dime" us...we should say they "ten and twenty" us. For example, they will charge $7 per nail hole when we move out. Our curtain rods take six screws. So, times three bedrooms and a living room equals $168 to hang curtains. We ended up using two for each bedroom and 3M Command hooks for everything else.

This is a nice place to live and the apartments are really nice. I have been here a little over 8 months and things are well taken care of. Compared to most apartments this place is very quiet. And the management seems to always trying to improve stuff.
