Resident 2012 - 2013

I've been here for just over a year and I'm sad to be moving out at the end of the month. I definitely wouldn't be if my job wasn't shipping me across the country. My experience overall here has been great. I did have some water damage in my closet for a while that was somewhat agitating, but I can't say that the maintenance team wasn't trying. After an "exploratory' holes and Sheetrock repairs, they finally discovered the cause, fixed the leak, and patched and painted and replaced the shelving so you'd never know there was ever a problem. And they were all very nice and concerned throughout the whole process, I got over my annoyance pretty easily. Other than that, I can't think of many other issues I've had. Though, I am a little bummed to be leaving before they start doing this dog-DNA testing thing; there are definitely some people I'd like to see get popped by the poo police. Pick up your poop, people!! It's gross! But that happens anywhere..I'm just glad to hear that Parkside is trying to do something about it. Trisha and the other office staff is always super friendly to me when they see me or I go by to pick up a package. The lady who originally helped me with my lease isn't there anymore but the up-beat office atmosphere was definitely one of the things that attracted me to this community in the first place. The only real cons are the parking garage that someone widened with a uhaul, letting just about anyone in (that just got fixed however) and the ongoing construction EVERYWHERE, but pretty much all of Austin seems to be affected by that right now. All things considered, I think I've had it pretty good. Thanks so much!

This place is a nightmare. I've lived here for almost a year now. The office staff is the main problem. Everyone in there needs to be fired except Oscar. They are never helpful when it comes to any real issues and act like its a pain to do their job. There is always trash in the hallways (stays for weeks at a time). The dog park is a joke. Residents are not supposed to have their dogs walking around the property or dog park without a leash....but it happens anyway. Dog poo is left on the grounds often. At least once a week, someone's dog is running outside their apartment door without a leash and the owner has to try and catch them. I love dogs, but I don't let my dog run up on others (especially when they are in their work clothes). As for the apartment, it's cheaply made and the insulation is horrible. They charge a chill bill that supposedly cools the apartment, but residents still get an electric bill on top of that. You really pay for the location, not the quality. I stayed at another property in the Domain before and never had these problems. The rent was cheaper, utility bills were lower, the property was quieter and cleaner. I'm waiting for my lease to end. I won't be back.

Hi Anonymous! Management is very big on our motto of "Pet Friendly, Pet Responsible". You are absolutely right, pets need to be on a leash at all times in and throughout our community, with the exception of our gated dog park. Animals do not go unleashed in supermarkets, outdoor festivals, or on a walk through The Domain itself, why should they go unleashed in our community, right? Management is catching what you're throwing and it's not going unseen or without violation. If you are experiencing this, please inform your Management Team. Even if you have no idea who the pet owner is, with even the smallest description, Management can more times than not, find out who it is. Once we are aware, the necessary actions will be taken to those who are violating Domain Parkside's Community Policies and State Law. The same goes for those pet owner's who think it's okay not to pick up after their pet. We have began implementing PooPrints, dog DNA testing. Testing has begun and specimens have been sent in. There is only a 10 turn around process for matching the DNA. Once we find the violator, with a state fine of $200 assessed to their account, all pet owner's will be sure to pick up after their animal. Management and Maintenance diligently walk our community on a daily basis. When the violators are in the action of violating, we typically witness the aftermath. Which is why we always ask our residents to inform us of any situation that is or has occurred so it can, and will, be addressed immediately. If you have any information, please come in the office, call, write or email. Any and every conversation is kept confidential. Thanks! Trisha Thacker Business Manager Domain Parkside Apartments

This place is great - that is, if you like being woken up six days a week at 7 a.m. by the sound of jackhammers and large construction vehicles. There are buildings going up literally everywhere around this property, so there is no relief in sight. The noise lasts all day, every day (except Sunday), so being at home between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. really isn't even an option. I also got a nail in my tire driving down a side street, which came from the construction zone. When I went to the office to complain, the staff directed me to an addendum in my lease saying I live in a construction zone, which apparently means anything goes. I've found nails on the street when walking around, too, so it's only a matter of time before I get another one. The washers and driers in my building are often broken and there are only two, so even if they do work, they're usually taken. The rent is way too high - I moved into a studio temporarily with plans to upgrade to a 2-bedroom once my spouse gets down here, but the rent on the studio alone is $1040. So if you're thinking of moving into this complex anytime soon, I would really think again. In a few years maybe, but I'm already looking into how to get out of my lease. Advice anyone?

After looking at several apartment complexes in the Domain area, I kept returning to Domain Parkside for several good reasons. The complex is new and beautifully landscaped, all the amenities are attractive, and my leasing agents were extremely helpful and friendly. I moved in December of 2012 and currently have enjoyed always prompt, friendly and helpful contact with the entire staff during this entire time. Although I haven't had many maintenance issues, management always responded promptly and they were addressed immediately. There are always lots of fun activities for the residents, and I have had only wonderful experiences with all of my neighbors. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Parkside apartments to any of my friends and coworkers.

Anyone have any advice on how to get out of a lease early. This place sucks. Its loud, they can't fix their security issues. The entry door on the right of the mailboxes has never once locked, the garage gate has been broken for months (and the security team sucks, especially the black lady that never looks up from her phone), the residents have no respect for anything, the staff is average at best, and the rooms are pretty cheaply made.

Our apologies for the negative living experience you have had while living here. I have my team checking all off the key fobbed, entry access doors for accessibility today. We will order all of the parts needed for repair, to be delivered tomorrow. Our primary focus will be to ensure all entry access doors will be working properly by days end. Due to the actions of one individual trying to drive through the gate with a U-Haul, we have had to manufacture the gate in its entirety. Since these gates are specially made the turnaround period is several weeks. In efforts to prevent vehicle vandalism during this period, we hired an unarmed security officer. Fortunately, the vehicle entry access gates should be in working order by days end, this Friday. We are waiting for the Tag Scanner to be installed. Our vendor is scheduled to begin installation tomorrow and to be completed before the weekend. If you have any issues, Management urges you to bring it to our attention. I am always available for any and all concerns, so please do not hesitate to ask for me. Management would like nothing more than to make Domain Parkside a home for everyone. I do not even know where to start with how frustrated I am on a daily basis living at the domain parkside apartments. I almost want to stop people taking tours and tell them not to move here. What it all boils down to is the fact that we pay a nice amount in rent so I expect a little bit more for my hard earned money. We pay close to $1600 (without the famous "a/c chiller" bill) for a two bedroom/two bathroom. For the experience I have been having from maintenance issues to dealing with the leasing office personnel, I bet the place down the street that rents a 2/2 for $900 a month could do a better job. So to start, I wouldn't be surprised if these apartments were not properly inspected. The first time we tried to use the oven it almost caught on fire because it was too close to the wall. Secondly, our dishwasher broke down: It sat with water in the washer for close to two weeks before being fixed and hence, we had drain flies. One toilet took them three times to fix (with reminders of course). The worst was that one day while cleaning; I noticed water damage and mildew in the bathroom area. It took me reminding them after a week that this issue still had not been resolved for them to "fix the issue. By "fix" they simply painted over the mildew. "Shockingly" enough the water damage and mildew returned once again after being out of town. Next thing you know there is an ozone machine and a huge hole in my bathroom wall. Sat like that for a week. While encountering all these issues not once did management call/email to let us know what was going on or to follow up. LACK OF URGENCY at its finest. So after a week with a fan constantly running in my bathroom and not being able to use it, maintenance simply stated " it was condensation " from the a/c chiller since the chiller we utilize powers all the apartments above us. Here is when things get super frustrating: This past month we had over a $300 a/c chiller bill. 300 DOLLARS?!?!? We keep our apartment at 76 and are frugal when it comes to conserving. The management team is less than willing to help us and I have now had to waste my own time asking third parties to help figure out this issue. The point is that this bill should be about $130 for a 2/2 since our utility bill is about $50. We have documented maintenance issues with our A/C since move in and all we get in return is that "it s a hot summer". Sorry, Domain Parkside, I have lived in Austin for close to three years and there is no way this bill is justifiable. We scheduled an appointment to discuss and of course the manager doesn t show or then respond to our email to reschedule. Sketchy? Yes. It how now been a month and we still have had no communication with management in regards to this bill. To put the icing on the cake, we received a letter from the office stating that all dogs have to be DNA tested. Something that was not agreed upon when signing our lease and if we do not abide we can be subject to lease termination or a $150 fee. Supposedly, they will begin testing dog poop and fine its owner $200 if it matches. I am curious to know who will be "testing" as management can t even take time to take care of its actual tenants and actual issues. All I can say that is if you want to spend a little more for a nice place to live do not move here. If you want to spend all your time in the leasing office and dealing with issues, this is the place for you!

First and foremost, Management would like to apologize for all you have experienced since the day you have moved in. It seems you have endured more than your share of quirks with a new construction apartment home. Please I urge you to contact me with a time that you both are available to meet. Or if you find a moment where you both have time to come to the leasing office, I'm available for you. Our number one goal for you and all of our resident's is to have you come home to a "home" and not have to deal with issues whether it's construction or a utility bill. I am available Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:30. I truly hope we can find a resolution to where you both feel you are able come home to a home. Thank you, Trisha Thacker Business Manager

I came here about a week ago to tour. Oscar, was my leasing agent and I'm not exaggerating when I say this . but he is probably one of the best leasing agent I ve ever dealt with. I myself is a leasing agent for another company - so I m know what to look for. Oscar took his time to figure out what I really wanted and what I really needed. Never was I felt rush during my 35 minutes there. Never did I felt like he was trying to sell something. The property was gorgeous and I love the interiors. Pool was unique. The business center was small for my taste. I love the fitness classes they offer there. Love the residents functions he told me about. Overall Once I figure out where I m going for my next job and the time frame . I ll be back to lease here for sure!

I may gush to the point you'd think someone's paying me to say this, but I promise this is simply how much I love living here. The location is amazing: centrally located and within walking distance to the shops, great restaurants and bars. The units themselves are beautiful, and the management is super friendly and always takes care of things right away. Not to mention, they have GREAT perks: several events a month like happy hours and concerts that make it easy to get to know all your neighbors, and free gym classes including yoga and crossfit for residents. It's just an awesome place to live and enjoy a great quality of life.

Ty, Oscar, and the rest of the staff in the leasing office have been stellar. I recently moved into my 2/2 unit exactly two weeks ago and have received exceptional service both prior to moving in and on my move-in day. I am truly happy here, and really enjoyed the happy hour event that Domain Parkside had last week at the Westin Hotel-- I made new connections, had great food and drinks and all I had to do was show-up and enjoy it all, FOR FREE! The property is ideal for my current situation given the fact I live just a few miles down the road and you can easily access downtown Austin under 12min with no traffic (I have done it many times). All in all, I have only great things to say about this property, staff, and amenities.

Let me start out with this first (and read the whole review to see where it went wrong). My husband and I have rented from Lincoln Apartments for a few years and decided to stay with them when we came to Domain Parkside because of the great experience we had from our previous rentals. We were excited to live so close but far enough from the Domain to not hear all the hustle and bustle of the mall. It was secluded with a beautiful courtyard and pool, with security gates at every entrance with easy-access fobs to get in and out of the buildings. A parking garage with access to every floor that had a state-of-the-art gate which prevented nonresidents from using our parking garage (or so our leasing agent said) which we were very happy about since we had been in other apartments where parking was an issue. We felt excited, happy, safe, and part of an exclusive community with a beautiful apartment in a convenient location where there was little to no noise and it was quite peaceful. We signed the lease and happily moved in. A month or so later, we started noticing as more people moved in, the more issues we had, and the less management actually cared enough to do anything about it. Issues with the complex/management team: -We moved in because of convenient access from the parking garage, and what seemed like a secure gate to the garage. People who come to the Domain or want to go to Top Golf have figured out to park in our parking garage. Just wait until an ACTUAL resident opens the gate and then pull in behind them. The door stays up long enough for it. I have adjusted MY schedule to do all my errands mid-day because if I leave my parking spot past 5 pm, I will have to park on the roof because the parking garage is full of non-residents (all residents are given TX-Tag sensors to activate the gate, but even then, people who have normal TX Tag badges and DON'T live here will still open the gate). It doesn't help that people have their guests follow them in too. Even though management lives on site, they don't care enough about parking, or don't believe that it's an issue, or (naively) believe that these are all residents that they have done nothing to address the issue of parking. My husband and I are pregnant, and when the time comes that means I have to run down the hall, go in the elevator, go up to the top floor for the elevator, then go up two flights of stairs and then jump in the car, all hoping that my water doesn't break in the process, or cause complications for my baby. It states in our LEASE that your tag has to be displayed, but even then it's not going to work because people with TX Tags can just open it. Even though a simple solution such as a resident sticker and partnering up with a towing company would fix the issue, they dont' care enough to do anything about it because, well, you signed the lease and are bound to them for 14 months. -Sending out threatening emails- management has twice sent out emails stating to "not put trash in the hallways" or to "not bring pets into the elevator" because apparently people can't read signs that say "no pets in the elevator" and have no control over their pets since their pets attack children in the elevator. They say that they'll fine you from leaving trash in the hallway, fining you if you use the elevator to transport your pet, but as I walk down the hall, the same tenants have trash out in the hallway (every few days they put out something new) that the management wont remove, wont fine them either (cause considering how many times that that tenant has crap out in the hallway, I sure has hell wouldn't want to pay an additional $300 each month from fines), and to this day I still see people use the elevator to transport their lap dogs. (there was this guy with a 14 yr old dog that was walking wobly, and I can totally understand her using the elevator, but still, lease a bottom floor, dude) - Don't rent from here if you expect lower utilities/water. There's this nice little thing your A/C unit called "chiller water" which uses "chilled water" from Austin Water to cool your air instead of electricity. I went from about a $50 water bill from my previous apartment, to a whopping $130 at this current one, and I have a 2 BR/1.5 Ba apartment. Our previous apartment was an open loft-style, and our electricity was $80, and our water $50. I have a smaller apartment, all one level and it takes more in utilities to live here than it did to live in a loft ($170 for Parkside, $130 for old apartment). They try and justify it by having a "lower electricity bill" because of it, but I'd rather have the higher electricity and reasonable water than the BS I have now. At least the electricity I have some control over. Doesn't help that my AC unit will randomly turn off (even though I've triple-checked to keep it at 73) so when I wake up in the morning it's 78 and the AC kicks on to cool it down to 73 once again...which ups the water bill to some stupid amount. -Oh I must also mention it takes them 2 months to change out an air filter. I call at the beginning of each month, and ask them to change it, and expect it to actually arrive at my apartment 3 calls and 2 months later. Issues with the apartment: -poorly made apartments, with an even worse maintenance crew. We had a fixture that was broken since we moved in, did not get fixed until 5 months later, after weekly (then monthly because we got tired of reminding them) calls to the office. They came to our apartment 5 times, giving a different excuse each time before it actually got fixed. They changed out the doors for our W/D unit with bi-folds since what they had didn't work before. Once changed, it fell loose while I was opening it, and when the guy came to fix it, he asked if we had any tape and jammed a piece of tape in there to do a "quick fix" instead of taking time to fix it. -door broke apart. Took 2 MONTHS to fix. Issues with the other tenants: -There was a gentleman that kept his porch door open (he had direct access to the courtyard) and had a habit of blasting his music so loud it sounded like they had speakers in the courtyard, pets running loose and scaring the children that were out there. We had an apartment (also bottom floor) host a party that spilled out into the courtyard that was loud, with drunk people making out with each other, girls flashing the apartments facing the courtyard, red solo cups strewn all over the place, and they didn't clear out until about 3 am when the cops were finally able to come and remove them. For what we're paying for in rent and water, I would expect it to be of a higher caliber experience than it is. They have events and what not, but it doesn't make up for the common-everyday amenities. I'd rather take my $1400 and spend it across the street where I can get a 3 BR, 2 Bath for a fraction of the cost. All in all, although the guy that leased us our apartment, Oscar, was extremely helpful and professional, the rest of the maangement team is greatly lacking in those same areas. Needless to say, quite disappointed with our experience here and will not be renting from Lincoln Apartments again.

                    8/21/2013

Your Management Team would like to apologize for your negative experience you have had at your community. As always we strive our best for everyone to have a positive living experience. Last Wednesday, we were made aware by one of your neighbors, regarding Top Golf visitors parking in our garage. I immediately contacted the General Manager and had an in depth conversation that he needed to ensure that ALL of his employees and customers are not allowed to park in our parking garage at anytime. He informed me they recently purchased another 190 spaces at the Top Golf location in effort to solve the issue they are having. We always encourage our residents to inform Management if anything even remotely like the above is overheard so we can take the proper actions. The vehicle entry gate will only open for those vehicles who are programs into our software system. Management provides our own tag scanner badges, but we are also able to program those who have TX Tags as well. If you see the vehicle entry gate open for those vehicles who have TX Tags, Dallas Toll Tags and Harris County Toll Tags, those are vehicles belonging to lease holders at your community. Unfortunately, Management is not able to walk the property corridors on a daily basis. We always ask our resident's to help out your Management Team for those residents who violate our trash and pet policy. We have compiled a pet binder with pictures of each animal for cases regarding our "No pets allowed in the elevator" Policy. If you are seeing violators, we ask that you come to your Management Office and pick out the pet you see violating our Pet Policy. Pets are not allowed in the elevator due to having irresponsible pet owners who allow their animals to urinate/defecate in the facilities and do not clean up after them. Due to an Owner's or Animal's disability, verified through professionals, a pet may be allowed in the elevator. Management has sent out, via email, the Thermostat User Manual in our effort to inform residents how to save the most money, in the hottest months. We try our best to educate our residents the degree separation from outside temperature and the amount of cooling inside the apartment that causes increases in the chiller usage. We encourage you to call or stop by your leasing office, or we can send it via email, in efforts to save you money. If anyone ever has any maintenance issues regarding a "quick repair" or asking our residents for supplies in their own home, please inform me immediately. As immediate action will be taken to any half done request or requests that are not completed at all. Maintenance requests that are not being completed in a timely manner or is half way completed is not okay in our book. We are aware of the resident party that had taken place at that time. When the police were called out, two members of your Management Team were there as well. We took the appropriate action to ensure the party ended immediately and it was to never happen again. Management has not received complaints since this occurred. As always, if you or anyone has had any negative experience with your living environment, I encourage you to contact myself. This is your home, your neighbors home and some of your Management Team's home. It's where we all go to at days end to unwind and live happily and comfortably. Please contact me, us, if you experience any issues or concerns. Thank you, Trisha Thacker Your Business Manager

Domain Parkside has A LOT to offer! I've been a resident of Domain Parkside since early February 2013. I can honestly say that this is the most comfortable I have felt in any apartment in town. The community is well kept, the location is great and it's easy to get around town. The staff is ALWAYS available and helpful to answer all of your concerns. There is an amazing maintenance team who is quick and responsive, not to mention very friendly. Also - there is a team who hosts community events and happy hours to give everyone the opportunity to be social. The apartment interior itself are great. Wood plank - like floors - keep my place easy to clean. All my appliance work perfectly, no issues what so ever. My energy bills in this place are VERY low - believe the Green rating!! Some reviews I've read about neighbor noise, or thin walls - they're normal walls - it's an apartment complex. I dont hear much noise from my neighbors - maybe I'm lucky :) There's always plenty of parking in the garage, which is limited access for residents only. There are a ton of secure key doors - this place makes me feel safe. Overall - I recommend Domain Parkside 110% - and stand by that! The apt is awesome, the staff is helpful and efficient and it's right next to all the shopping you could ask for. Thanks for making me feel at home Domain Parkside Management, Staff, Maintenance and Cares Team!

I have rented here since the day they opened (August 31st, 2012); prior to most units even being complete. Haven't had many issues outside of normal renting woes (attention-deficit management, etc.). The apartment itself is ok --sub-par at best. Faux "wood" panels that pop up at the corners, extremely basic cheap appliances, paper-thin walls, & lackluster maintenance (how many men does it take to fix a door that should have been properly installed in the first place?). Not sure why they continue to advertise 2 pools; one is a pool, the other is a cruel joke. Come see for yourself! There's dog cr*p all over the "park" behind the building & the manager insists on chain smoking right as you enter the parking garage (get it together already). Management paid each tenant (via AMEX gift card) to post positive reviews (notice all are clustered within a particular timeframe?). I didn't partake because it just seemed shady, & financially I will be just fine without $20 gift card. On July 30th, 2013, myself & another tenant invited our friends & 2 clients of mine out to the pool. Between the both of us paying tenants, we had 6 pool bands, 1 for each of us females. We kept to ourselves as I always do, because after all, these people are neighbors --not friends. We don't care to go to their social gatherings, happy hours, or pool parities because, again, we don't care to be best friends with our neighbors. Apparently this is where the issue lies. While sunbathing & minding our own we noticed 1 particular man literally going to tell on us, I kid you not. A grown man went to tell on us. He called -----, the leasing agent, to come up to us IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE POOL, & ask us to leave since, "we don't live here." Excuse me? When we told ----- that we, in fact, do reside here & can show our pool bracelets as proof, he sheepishly said, "---------------------- there (pointing to an apartment --------------------) & she'll get mad if she sees people she hasn't seen here before." Again, as previously mentioned, I don't care to make friends here; I have friends in "real" life. I don't care to be social with a bunch of overgrown frat boys, because over-grown is the key term here. He then apologized (he was actually super nice; not the brightest crayon in the box, but nice) & said to us, "She gets mad when she sees ------ families come to the pool." I'm sorry, ------? Well hello, judgment. I'd like to know what exactly was ------ about six females: a neurologist, burn surgeon, accountant, attorney, MBA student, and PhD student? Was it because we didn't care to dance around to mainstream top-40 hits w/the coozie-bearing best friends the pool? Or because we were Asian? Or just that the manager hadn't stalked us through her window prior to this incident? If we're discriminated against because we don't care to socialize w/our neighbors, then come out & say it. Directly after telling us to leave a pool which we pay to "enjoy" (loose term), ----- went straight back to the very man who felt the need to tell on 6 females & let him know it was taken care of. Imagine how mortified I was IN FRONT OF MY CLIENTS when these shenanigans were pulled. Well now the 3 of them who are looking to rent in this particular area know not to rent here. It was the most ridiculous thing ever. I see the leasing agents & manager hanging out with the other neighbors all the time. -----, the manager, is likely wasted or chain-smoking (yet that's not "------") with the likes of the other residents by the pool each weekend. She has seen me at the pool NUMEROUS times w/out a bracelet without incident. Apparently our lack of interest in any of them was the catalyst for being told on. I can't even... There are far better places to live than this one, in the domain alone. Nicer, more sturdy, and less pretentious. And luxury? Nope. Not even close. Not these people, by a long shot. I invite you to come by on a weekend and see for yourself what the pool area looks like --the saddest group of adults trying desperately to relive their youth. Definitely an eye sore.

Paper-thin walls --avoid the 4th floor. #---- BLARES their music so loud, it can be heard down the hallway. Rude! #---- was having the loudest porn-star-like action last night, we literally had to bang on the walls to let them know we heard it all. It was not a pretty sound (either amphetamine-induced or just drunken stupor). The thing is that it's just rude. If you don't have the funds to purchase a house, don't make that our problem and insist on living as if you are not in a multi-family dwelling. There's a serious sense of entitlement (it took 9 months of being open for people to get the concept of not parking in a fire lane) as there is constantly dog waste in the debatably-nice "park" out back. Straight up, there's a lot of "new money" in the complex... with them come loudness, a lack of awareness of the fact that others live so close by, and a HUGE sense of entitlement. Garbage sits ouside of the shoot, as if lifting your own trash INTO the shoot proves to be too difficult. I have friends who live in the other Domain residence and never have such issues. Also, there's a super-nice facility (City Lights) being built right next door. With better options around, I can't see Parkside Domain justifying their ridiculous rent to live with a bunch of overgrown frat boys. Also, their "business center" was without internet last week. Not one person in the office could give me a concise answer as to why, rather, "We're aware of it." Get it together.

                          6/19/2013

Management would like to apologize for your negative experience you have had so far. We strive our best for all of our residents to have a comfortable and happy living environment. We ask for all of our residents who may have noise/neighbor issues to inform us immediately, as we have strict policies set in place for such issues. The fire lane is not owned nor managed by Domain Parkside Management Team. We are unable to enforce parking/towing in the specified area. However, the owner of that property have recently taken steps to ensure violations are properly handled. In addition, Domain Parkside Management is not responsible for clean up and enforcing The Park's rules and regulations. However, the owner of The Park property has "Scoop the Poop" to pick up dog waste every other week. Your Management Team has the contact information for the property owner if you would like to speak with them. Domain Parkside's Application Qualifications are the same for everyone. We try our best to provide a happy home to all, who meet the criteria qualifications. The Business Center Internet did become available within two hours after Management had been notified. Management was aware of the problem and notified the proper person to repair. Unfortunately, Management had no control over the power outage that had taken place. Due to the power outage being in control of Austin Energy, we could not give a definite time frame for repair. Domain Parkside is a wood frame Apartment Community, such as all of the other communities located in The Domain. The facility being built next door, Street Lights, is built in wood frame as well. Domain Parkside Developers have taken additional measures to install an Acoustical Mat in-between the floors to try to prevent as much noise as possible within a wood frame building. This Acoustical Mat also has a hand in Domain Parkside Apartment's achieving Austin's only 4 Star Green Energy Rating, excluding Government Housing. Management is always open to any feed back, positive or negative, to make the best living experience possible. If our residents are experiencing issues that Domain Parkside Management can repair, please inform your Leasing Office immediately, via phone, fax or email.

MOVE TO DOMAIN PARKSIDE! You will LOVE it here! All the staff (including maintenance) are incredibly friendly, fun, and helpful. I've mostly worked with Oscar who, to this day, has made me feel very welcome! I moved from a house and Oscar was extremely patient in helping me make sure I found THE right apartment. He continues to be there (quickly) if needed and is very helpful (and hilarious!) with any random questions I have :-). Moving here was a smooth transition and I believe it was largely due to Oscar and the staff at Parkside! I did have a few small maintenance things that I requested (nothing major) and it was handled quickly and thoroughly. Parkside seems to have great resident get-togethers (which I haven't been to yet, but everyone talks about!). Moving here was a great decision...I LOVE it and highly recommend Domain Parkside to anyone!! From the location, to the apartment, to the people, this place feels like HOME!

I felt very welcome from the moment I entered the office at Domain Parkside. I had the best time speaking with Oscar Mendoza regarding renting at the Domain and he was able to pop me and Lisa Garza-Waltke (my Apartment Specialist friend!) to see Two 2-bedroom/bath apartments right away. I ended up renting one of the actual units he showed us the same day. I was able to move in the following week with no trouble and they had a good move-in special also! Oscar has done everything for me, from adding a storage unit to my lease, to recommending restaurants to eat at, to helping me with meeting the gym management and getting a personal trainer set up. Every time I have called or stopped in to the office for help regarding an issue I have been helped right away or as soon as possible. Ty and Ashley have also been very helpful and friendly when I had stopped in for help.

I've been a resident of Domain Parkside for a couple months now. From the first day I walked in the staff has always been more than helpful. The lease agent was willing to show me the exact available units, and even offered a great suggestion of a corner unit. He took his time and treated me like an individual. On a separate visit another leasing agent was just as helpful. I viewed, applied and leased my unit all in the same day. Maintenance on-site is extremely helpful, and always very courteous. I called today to ask a billing question, and the community manager actually answered. She was polite, knowledgeable and knew exactly how to help me. Domain Parkside staff, management and care team has gone above and beyond to make this community feel welcome. I'm glad to be a resident, thank you Domain Parkside!! -Joe G.

Staff is 100% incompetent and absolutely useless!!! The materials used for this complex are of the absolute cheapest quality. The walls are paper thin and the windows are absolute crap. I have curtains up over the shades and when it's windy outside the curtains move. I've only been here a few months and I'm already looking into moving. When you move in they don't tell you where anything is, nor do they give you a welcome packet. You just have to figure things out on your own. Even if you do call the office, it's pointless because they are incompetent and lazy. This is not a luxury apartment complex, not even close. They just get to call it that because it's in the Domain.

Definitely not worth what they are asking for in rent... Notice how all positive reviews are written around the same time? INCENTIVE --Amex gift cards, which I was told I would receive but never did. Even emailed the manager about it, have yet to receive a response --questionable, right? A manager who doesn't return emails? Also, let's talk property. It's like driving a shiny new Jaguar, with a Kia interior. Fake "wood" floors that come up @ the seems, DATED appliances (very economy / cheap). And now I'm sitting here w/out a shower because, for the 2nd time, our AC unit broke & is leaking water into our bathroom. Wouldn't be much of an issue if the building wasn't built a year ago. Walls = paper thin (I can hear EVERYTHING). Our sliding door on our study simply stopped working as it FELL OUT OF THE WALL FRAME entirely. I made the manager aware of it, but again, no answer. I suppose she'd rather the whole door frame just collapse? It's sad actually, to see a place with so much potential yet everything is so cheaply made that it falls apart. My friend lives in the other complex here at the Domain (literally on top of Zara) & her place is AMAZING! It's much larger than mine, has real wood floors (which makes a major difference in appearance), brand-new updated appliances, and... IT IS CHEAPER BY A LONG SHOT as far as rent. Also Domain Parkside advertises on their site that they have "2 pools" & a massive gym w/classes? I've been her since August & have yet to see this. I see ONE gym, the size of our bedroom, and ONE pool --usually full of leaves. As far as the reviewer below how complained about noise from the balconies; I haven't had any issues. I go on mine all the time to catch a smoke, it's never loud or annoying. In fact, I see neighbors on theirs & we wave at each other :) Some people have MASSIVE dogs that bark really loud, but they're just being dogs. All in all, as someone who moved in here the 1st day they opened, it has only gone down-hill since that day. Considering the other (more appealing) choices w/in the Domain area --especially the even newer ones to be finished this spring--I do not recommend moving into Parkside Domain. Don't get duped b/c it's "brand new" as I did; it surely does not function as new construction. BOTTOM LINE: IT'S NOT WORTH THE PRICE --just not logical.

Garage security has been broken for more than three weeks total time off and on since I have been here which basically means it wasn't secured access. People are noisy and rude on there balconies and I have talked to management with little response. It is hard to get your mail without being inundated with cigarette smoke. I would assume with the premium paid to live here there would be a higher level of care taken with residents. Also there were multiple promises made by management about security and discounts that have never materialized. Also showing they pay for reviews leads me to believe that these reviews may not be the most truthful. Half the lights in the garage seem to be off most of the time. Tub caulking is already cracking and grout is poorly finished and paint spots on the floor from the new construction. Garage lights are still only half on. When will they be turned on.

I met with Oscar and he was AWESOME! If you check this place out, I highly recommend you ask for him. He is the most helpful leasing agent I have ever worked with and actually cares about finding the right apartment for you. You will know this when you see how genuine he is when asking questions and showing you around. I have looked at the other apartment communities in the Domain and I like the Parkside because they address a lot of the negatives that others have expressed about the other communities. It seems like they took the feedback and made efforts to change things for the better. I look forward to moving in shortly.

Pros: great location, new construction, nice common/pool area, decent amenities like faux wood, grantite counter tops, and garden tub. Cons: narrow parking garage lanes, water pressure in the shower sucks, annoying kitchen faucet out of the 90's. All in all, I highly reccommend the place.
