Some good, lots of bad
Luckily I only planned to be here for three months. The apartment itself was clean and well kept, and maintenance was very good about fixing problems as quickly as possible. Never a problem with maintenance people. This is my first ------ experience and I'm glad I didn't stay long. My neighbor's car was stolen and my female roomate did not feel safe at night as she was harrassed more than once. Several creepy people just hanging around. Management was sometimes helpful but didn't seem to care too much about the residents, but this varies with the individual I'm sure. This is a big complex with lots of traffic. No gate security as cars line up to follow the one car with a key into the complex. Hot tub is rarely hot, luke warm maybe and the pool is not always clean, even though it's closed every monday for "cleaning". One good thing, if you need to get rid of furniture before leaving, just place it next to the dumpster with a free sign, it'll be gone in minutes, literally.

can u say ------??
this place was nice when i first moved in, lots of nice cars and people in the complex, however, that all quickly changed. it seemed like management got sloppy and stopped checking credit and criminal backgrounds. there were suddenly thugs hanging out in the parking lot, the pool was over crowded and ill-kept. wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy

I use to love calling it Home!
I have lived at the Camden West Oak since May 2004. I loved the property well maintained, nice neighbors, courteous office staff. Things however have changed. Regardless of what day of the week it is, I hear loud bassing music into the wee hours of the morning. I am harassed daily by group of men who want to stop and chat with me, and for a single gal that's a bit scary. My downstairs neighbor smokes up a storm and then takes her ashtray and dumps her butts all over the stairs that I have to walk down. The neighbor beside her comes home intoxicated -i assume- and thinks it approriate to vomit in front of the door and leave it there."thanks for the ants". I love the floorplan of my apt but I hate calling this place home. I have gone so far to move out and pay rent at two places until my lease is up.

Great Place to Live!
I have lived here for a year and I have had no problems. Maintence always comes the same day the problem is reported, the managment is not bad; overall they are nice people...my only complaint is the early shut down of the pool and tennis courts...10PM and the expensive pet deposit.

They don't really check for pets so most people with animals have not paid the pet deposit, which is wonderful b/c the deposit is expensive...$400 per animal or a $240 nonrefundable...unfortunately if you have more than one animal, like myself, they expect you to pay the full $400 an additional $400 for the other animal and they do not allow payments...like people have $800 to just shell out.

Basically they force you to choose between your home or your pet. Other than that I cannot complain.

Was Better Before Camden Took Over
I've lived here for 4 years now, and I've watched this place change quite a bit.

When I moved in, it was still called Roseland Place. We had valet trash, great service from the staff and maintenance, and there was an excellent quality of resident throughout the complex.

It seems to have gone downhill ever since Camden took over management. They immediately got rid of valet trash. The staff is only so-so, there are a couple of good people in the office but a lot of them are rude and seem annoyed by my maintenance requests. (My hot water heater died a wet death all over my closet and bedroom - they didn't offer me any kind of concession for the problems that caused.) The quality of tenant has been on a rapid downward slope for about 2 years now. Lots of booming bass and loud parties (and I don't necessarily want to hear Tejano or rap at the pool all weekend long) not to mention the fact that my last 3 next door neighbors have been evicted within 3 months. There are also a few people around here that scare me a little bit. There's a bit of a mold problem here, too...things get musty and mildewy a little too quickly.

On the good side, they have excellent security, they have a security guard that patrols the property after dark continuously and the gates are always in working condition, which is reassuring to a girl living alone like me. The landscaping is very nice and well-kept. Rent isn't due till the 3rd which is nice, and for the most part the apartments are in good shape. The floor plans are well-laid out, too.

I'm voting that I'd recommend this place. It's a good place for a first-time renter or someone who's looking for an "upscale low-end" apartment. I've liked it here but over the past year I have seriously begun considering finding a nicer complex.

Great Place to Live!!
I lived here for a little over a year, and have loved every minute! The office staff is wonderful, maintenance is prompt, 24/7 patrol, and the property is beautifully maintained. The floor plans are a nice size and layout. There is plenty of parking and the pool and fitness areas are nice. They also regularly run specials on rent and these are very good deals.

Great place to live!
This complex is now Camden West Oaks. I moved here a year ago. After reading reviews on other complexes, I feel lucky to live here. The staff is great, maintenance calls are answered same day. The pool is great. The residents are pleasant. I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone.
