My Fiance and I moved in June 2014 and have loved everyday. The complex is in an amazing location, offers amazing amenities, and most of all, we feel safe living here. When we first moved in Tina, Mary, and Sally were beyond amazing. They continued to be amazing for us with any request and are always helpful. We recently upgraded from a 1/1 to a 2/2 and Mary and Sally pulled out all the stops for us with our move. I am grateful for their knowledge and expertise. The grounds are always kept clean. Todd & his team are quick with repairs and they are friendly. I love that Uber is able to quickly pick us up from this location and that there are lots of food delivery options. Also that 24 hour fitness and Specs are across the street! Love this complex, its staff, and we highly recommend living here.

I lived here from September 2013-January 2015. I was working nearby at Williams Tower and wanted to be walking distance to the office. Overall, this place can't be beat for the price. This area is one of the best places for young professionals in Houston. Every other apartment complex in this area is 25% more expensive or so. It does have some occasional maintenance issues being an older building (my dryer broke multiple times) but the maintenance staff is friendly and gets things done quickly. Also, a lot of renovation is being done on the building, so the inside of the courtyard looks nice. The apartments themselves have been remodeled inside in recent years and look great. The grounds all around are very well landscaped. I really liked the walk-ability of the neighborhood, and the 24 Hour Fitness gym being right across the street. There is also 24 Hour CVS store a block away, and several restaurants in the strip mall across the street, including Chipotle and Subway. About the only negative in the area is that guest parking is limited and guests will have to park on McCue Road, alongside of the building. The staff here are friendly and courteous. They are very straightforward and honest, and also, they did not jack me up when it came time to renew my lease. My rent went up about $25 from one year to the next, which was shockingly low considering they had made a fair amount of capital improvements in revamping the landscaping and painting during my stay. One other random awesome feature is that the deep end of the pool is actually 8 feet deep, probably because it's an older complex that was built before everyone started making them 5 feet. The pool is huge, starts shallow and get deeper. It's definitely a nice play to swim or just chill and cookout. Also, they have an outdoor Jacuzzi that's pretty nice and secluded in a hidden area within a courtyard. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. The Galleria Area is my favorite neighborhood in Houston, and is close to everything. This place is a block from where 610 and 59 meet, so you can get anywhere fast. The apartments are nice, the staff is courteous, and it's significantly cheaper than all other complexes in the area.

I moved into the Galleria Oaks apartments at the end of August 2012. I am a happy resident that really enjoy living here! The landscaping & apartments are extremely well maintained and they recently painted the exterior, so everything looks fresh! I have always felt safe living here, which is very important to me. I have a small dog that occasionally gets walked late at night in the enclosed, gated area which is also very safe. The office & maintenance staff have always been helpful, friendly and professional, including the weekend staff. One thing I am extremely proud to mention is, there are NO bug issues here. I've heard other, larger complexes have roach infestations. I have never had any roaches in my apartment, including the little ones and the large, flying ones, too. Where I live in the complex, it's truly peaceful, serene and relaxing (the outside area) and I rarely ever hear any noise from my neighbors. It's a very special complex and I am so grateful it's inside the city, super close to major freeways, affordable, very well maintained (and clean!) and really safe. Another big plus is having a full size washing and drying machine inside my apartment. I am giving the Galleria Oaks all excellent rating (5 stars!) because I am very impressed with their maintenance, staff, grounds and safety.

Let's face it, there's no other apartment complex in the Uptown area that you will find for this price. That being said, the units had a major renovation inside a few years ago. Most apartments have tile or laminate flooring. The buildings are older, but the interiors are fresh. EVERY apartment complex will have it's issues. Yes the hot water may go out once or twice a year; but that is to be expected with a boiler system. You are actually saving money on your electric bill by not having to support a hot water heater in your apartment. Maintenance has always gone above and beyond. A/C units do go out, it's part of life, but how many complexes would have a tech in your apartment in less that 15 minutes? Didn't think you could answer that. They are on call and respond to their pages on the weekends and wee hours in the morning IF it's a true emergency. Parking is designated as one garage parking per bedroom. One bedroom= one parking spot. Two bedroom= two parking spots. The garage has cameras and with the majority of the residents working different schedules, its never desolate. Any where in Houston a car can get broken into. Armed guards and cameras can never stop a crackhead on a mission. Some of the reviews here were written like children complaining about a teacher; the leasing office is just that, a leasing office. It's not the hold your hand and cry about it location. The ladies in the office, especially Tina, go above and beyond to take care of every resident here. The reviewer below that called her racist is throwing that word around, as I doubt they know a thing about her. What people seem to forget is how many units these ladies support on a daily basis. I'll take honest, dependable and hardworking over someone that will listen to you cry and not fix the problem. The internet is sporadic at times, but I don't think it's to blame on the complex. They had their equipment updated last year; have you ever notices the amount of construction in the area, that could be a major factor as well as At&t? It's annoying sometimes, but usually doesn't last for long. I just use my cell as a hotspot for the time being until it's repaired. They are completely honest about your internet options upfront before you ever sign a lease. If you can't listen/read ; that's your own problem.

Arghhhhh, still no internet service for more than 9 weeks and they have no solution to fix the problem. You can use CLEAR is the one and only answer to their issue. Prospective renters BEWARE if you re relying on internet for work. Say good bye to your online streaming (Netflix, Hulu , YouTube), online gaming and online chatting (Skype).

You cannot beat the location. The building is older, so there are some issues- probably with the foundation. There are some water issues as well- when I was moving out the city was redoing the sidewalk on Richmond, installing new street lights. The grounds are well kept, the pool is great, it is really secure- if someone tries to get in the garage, they are not getting out until someone lets them out.

Hello, This is not so much a review, as there are plenty of opinions on this place. This is more of a informative advisory as to a pretty annoying issue with this place currently. As of about a month ago the complex switched internet providers and the whole complex is dealing with incredibly almost non-functional service. When I moved in here you pay about $50 for 10Mbps internet from a provider they have a contract with. Speeds were pretty much in line with 10Mbps average. NOW, if you are getting 1.5Mbps down I consider it a victory. The office staff have all but said there is nothing they can do about this and there is no resolution in sight, we are still paying them for this service BTW. This would be fine if there was another service provider we could go to. There is not. You are stuck with this provider and their contract. So if you depend on functional internet for work etc, you have been warned! The most ironic part of this whole issue is this place used to be a Walden internet village now they don't even have functional service.

In September, I will have lived on this property for 12 years, and I would not be living here if some of these things being said were true. I'll be the first to say that YES - this place needs a paint job!! BAD!!! I have never had any issues with cold water or leaks on my car from the garage. My friends have never had a problem finding a place to park, although I do spend most of my weekends away. I think that the people here are really cool. I never have to worry about someone breaking into my apartments cause it seems as everyone watches what is going on. As long as I have been here, I have never heard of anyones apartment getting broken into. Yes, some cars on McCue on one point but, that's just Houston! The people in the office are fine for me. If I need something - they get it done. Simple as that. I don't request much, so when I go in there... they are nice to me. They recently put a new dinning room light fixture and door handles in my unit. They look really nice! Maybe if some people were a little nicer, they might get the same thing! The flowers are really pretty and it's always quiet here. I wouldn't listen to the people that write negative stuff.... they probably just want someone to listen to them. I think this is a great place to live!!

I've read some of the reviews and wow, reading some of the reviews makes me think that some people must of had a really bad day. I must say I have a totally different perspective of where I have called home for the last 3 years. Yes, the gardens, the pool and the hot tub are great and always well maintained. In fact the landscaping is great and I love taking pictures of the flowers. The garages are below the garden areas and I discovered that the water dripping is from the sprinklers and such in the garden areas....and yes, I not only asked the staff but I "looked" for the source of the water. That was too simple. I enjoy the apartment life here. I've met good people, have formed good friendships and I feel safe when I come home. I may not be able to park in the same spot every night but I have never failed to find a parking spot in the garage. I like the fact that a clicker is needed to get out as well as in.... I think it's a unique feature. And it's not that far off McCue for a visitor to park. It's well lit and it could be much worse. I don't have to mow my yard...it's done for me. If I have a maintenance issue, it's always been dealt with quickly and I didn't have to search out the solution. I turn it in and it gets done. Everyone on the staff here is always nice to me, but I try to treat people like I want to be treated and it seems to work for me. So overall, I'm happy here and I don't plan on moving anytime soon.

I lived at GO for two years and initially moved in because of the galleria location and low price. The gardens are pretty and the pool is nice and well maintained. That is the only good thing I can say about this place. Parking is terrible. There is basically no visitor parking so they have to park on McClure street and walk all the way back to front of Richmond to the front gate. If you let someone in the parking garage during the day (which is permissible) or to drop you off or something, they are trapped in. The gates do not open to exit without clicker. So stupid. The water is disgusting. Sometimes it smells bad and comes out brown. The water pressure is low and the pipes leak into the garage. It's always dripping and gross in there. They are always shutting the water off for 'repairs' but it never gets any better. The unit are very old and since the rent has gone up they are overpriced. Not worth it! They also rip you off upon move out. I have had many problems with them and am going to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau. The staff is rude and the policies are ridiculous, designed to suck you dry. They have a contract with wave vision so you can't get any decent cable or Internet service in there. Sucks. Stay away from this place. If you move in here you'll regret it!

Parking is terrible here. Very limited; and the visitors parking is not regulated by Management office. There has been several cars on that area that do not move. On paragraph #21 says: vehicle will be towed if "has no current license, registration, or inspection sticker, and we give you at least 10 days notice that the vehicle will be towed if not removed." Well there is a vehicle that has been sitting there for several months without license plates, registration, inspection sticker and nothing has been done. Vehicle has not been moved for at least 5 months. Therefore us the residents that do have legally properly working vehicles and our visitors have to park very far (sometimes on the street) because no one is monitoring the visitors parking area. Why management does not sticker this car and have this person take the vehicle off the premises and put it in storage or somewhere else. Instead everyone else has to be inconvenient by this.

Hello ! I currently live in this place and I am going to be very objective with my review. Parking: While yes it's a mess. I have never had any issue with my car, sometimes I need to park far away from my apartment, but oh well like someone said before. Parking is a mess everywhere in town. So it's ok Noise:I totally disagree with a review I read about you can't hear the other neighbors, In my case I do ear my neighbors noise. NOt cool when you have to be up early am during the weekdays. Grounds: Maintenance guys are amazing, always keep the place neat and nice. Safety: Have never been in any special situation or heard anything. so far , good safety. Construction: Leaks everywhere in the garage, and the paint since I moved is coming apart, They don't give you any kind of special maintenance even if you renew. I had lived in places that they do special cleaning or so, well this is not the case. I have asked and they said no. and it they were kinda rude. Maintenance. Good, if you request something they do it right away. Staff. Don't get me wrong, you can tell I am being objective and realistic in all the areas. Staff is not really nice. Remember certain situations in which I needed to go either to request something or ask a question, and one of the ladies had an attitude all the times. So now I avoid to go and I do my questions and suggestions via e-mail or phone . So picture that, I prefer to use different ways to communicate instead of going in, you can tell how dissatisfied I am with the staff. I am not saying everybody but you several bad impressions gives your the whole idea in how it is. Again not saying everybody in the office.

Pros- Location. Love how convenient everything is. Grounds- The pool area is always clean and the grounds are nicely kept. Cheap rent- you cannot find a cheaper place in the area. Office Staff- Everyone, with the exception of one (Ms. T), is always consistently friendly- especially the manager. You can tell that she loves her job because she is ALWAYS friendly and ready to help you. Cons- Pest control is a HUGE problem. I have had several issues with roaches and bugs in my apartment. The apartments are old, the appliances are old, the fixtures are old. Parking is a mess. The garage is dark, constantly leaking and smells of cat urine. Speaking of cats, there are about five stray ones that live in the garage, aren't skittish of humans and will lounge (and scratch the paint job) on the cars. Basically, you get what you pay for. You want cheap rent, look forward to a cheaply made, old apartment. I am experiencing huge "buyers remorse". I honestly would rather be paying a few bucks more a month and living at a newer and nicer apartment less than a block away. This is an honest review from an honest renter. I'm baffled at all the great reviews. Is the apartment horrible? No. But I would not recommend it. I think you can find better elsewhere. I will not renew here.

When I first moved in, this place was rather nice. Read below to find out why it's headed down hill: -Water: The water is a rust color with debris. It stains everything from white laundry washes to the inside of the dish washer. Water Pressure: for second floor apartments, the water pressure is a mere drizzle; when you notify the office "There is nothing me can do". They blame the dirty water on the City of Houston....funny that other apartment complexes on the same block don't experience that problem. It's either old pipes or a dirty boiler! -Parking: THERE ARE MORE APARTMENTS THAN THEIR ARE SPACES IN THE GARAGE. Now that we have that out of the way, parking is a joke... you "get towed without a sticker", however, if you drive a large vehicle, chances are they can't be towed. -Paint: FOR THREE YEARS WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY WILL PAINT. Take a look around at the multiple colors being used, this place looks like a clown car. BUT you better believe the manager's courtyard is up to par! -Garage: As mentioned in another review, the garage constantly leaks water from the upstairs gardens...BUT when they decided to paint the garage, then run the sprinklers, it caused several cars to be dripped with paint. Take a look around the garage, if you see cars with white/beige paint streaks, that's what happened. Electricity: You get a great deal on electricity due to the complex buying it in bulk HOWEVER, the wiring in the apartments are not grounded! I don't know how this is even legal, but if you use a quality surge protector or power conditioner, it will display "not grounded". Out of curiosity, I checked every outlet in my apartment and not a single one is grounded. (Also checked with two other neighbors, their outlets are not grounded either) This will render would surge protectors for electronics useless as they have no where to send the overload of electricity. Doesn't sound like a big deal? Google it to learn more of the importance of grounded outlets. -Rent: Constantly climbing even though no improvements are being made. For what some of their prices are, you can go to a newer complex in the area for $30 more a month. Why not right? -Fees: I have not moved out but am close friends with many residents who have. Move out fees seem to be as much as rent, no water how well you clean. One ex-resident had to get legal representation as they were charged for something obviously considered "normal wear and tear". Read you lease agreement and attachments VERY carefully.

Hi Everyone! Well I thought I would share my thoughts about Galleria Oaks apartments since I am moving out into my new house. I have lived here for almost 6 years and I loved every minute of it. The people, the staff, the apartments and the location can not be beat. Working in the Galleria area and living here too was the best time I have had in Houston. The apartments are perfect for everything I had, lots of storage space, considering it was just a one bedroom. The neighbors are awesome and always there to say hi. The pools are great. Parking is not too bad, but where is there NOT a problem with parking in the city... The maintenance people are always there to help out in any situation and the ladies in the office the best Landlords you could ask for. Very polite and professional and even will have a laugh with you! I will miss Galleria Oaks terribly. The people, the location, the PRICES!! If you are considering an apartment in the Galleria area, you can not beat this place. Every apartment complex I have stayed at has had problems here and there, but can can Galleria Oaks knows how to take care of its residents!!!

I typically do not write reviews online and unfortunately, those that do, often only take the time to write a review when they are angry about something. I have lived at Galleria oaks before for several years and just recently moved BACK in. Considering the general cost per sq. ft. in the area, this place is perfect. Concrete in the walls so I never hear much and my neighbors don't hear my stereo. The utilities are low and they have a T3 connection built in. The ladies in the office have always gone above and beyond and maintenance is always timely. All in all a great place.

I've been a resident of GO for almost 5 years and I don't plan on moving out. The staff is extremely courteous and if you have a request, it is handled within 24 hours. The grounds are well kept and everyone seems to know each other. I live by the pool and never hear any noise. Also, the location is accessible to any of the major areas in Houston from the Galleria to downtown. This is Houston and you hardly ever see any insects, which is unheard of in Houston! They staff keeps the residents informed of any updates and they are constantly making improvements to the property. GO is the place to be!!

Where to begin... The landscaping has to be in the top 3 "OMGs" for this place. I have seen not only the maintenance crew, but the Manager herself, covered in dirt and mud while landscaping the terrace and courtyard to cultivate an outdoor scene that would rival any botanical garden I have ever visited. Not only is my patio visually appealing, but the sounds from the rock waterfall are right outside of my window and make for great nap music. This is the largest 2BR/2BA apartment I have ever rented. Because of the price, I thought I would be sacrificing space and comfort but nothing could be farther from the truth. Resident living in this area is very expensive but Galleria Oaks surprised me with a very affordable rental price for the square footage in my apartment. Covered and secure garage parking were a big selling point for me as well. The building management and maintenance team obviously work well together to provide a very comfortable and secure living environment. At the top of the list of OMGs HAS to be the two ladies in the front office who have gone above and beyond anything I would expect from an apartment manager. The gratification of my living experience at Galleria Oaks is made so by the personal, yet professional, hands-on, "the customer is always right" attitude displayed by Galleria Oaks Management. One year ago, my employer relocated which not only increased my drive time, but also added tolls to my daily commute. There were cheaper apartments that were closer to where I now work but the savings didn't match the level of service I was going to lose. I would, and do, recommend Galleria Oaks to anyone looking for a great living experience.

This is my second time living at the GO. My first time I had to leave for a job and as soon as I could come back, I did. Overall, I've lived here since 2005. The person who wrote the previous review had to be disgruntled for some reason. Almost everything that was said was either a flat out lie or it was twisted and distorted. Yes, there are roaches... TREE roaches. So unless you don't want any kind of plants outside, you just have to live with them in Houston. The hot water is AWESOME. We live in the city so yes, there have been a couple of incidents which are promptly reported to everyone on property and now they have additional security cameras. But really, I had probably three times more notifications of criminal activity in a "upscale" property for that one year in The Woodlands than I've had in all 7 years here. The property is absolutely beautiful and meticulously maintained. Issues are resolved immediately. The property manager loves the property and the residents and it shows in everything she does. She works very hard to make it a home for all of us. The neighbors are great. The locations is great. Really... If I had to find something wrong with the place it would have to be the limited parking. But, unlike what the previous reviewer claimed, I've never had to park on McCue.

Great place to live!
If you are looking for a small, quiet complex in the heart of the Galleria, THIS IS IT! This is a mostly one bedroom property. They are great for young professionals just starting out or if you have decided to downsize and simplify. The units can be a little tight for a couple. If you have a w/d in your unit the storage is a bit tight for two. I have seen a lot of people move in single and move out with their bf/gf into a larger place. The rent is reasonable for the age and amenities. The "rack rate" the management thinks they are worth and uses to calculate month to month and pro-rates is ridiculous. The units are clean and working upon move in. It would be great to see them replace the kitchen counters. They are 12x12 tile and uneven. The pool is immaculate! I just wish people were courteous enough to be quiet late at night so the management would let it stay open longer. The walk-in hot tub is a real bonus and a joy to use in Houston's "winter." Because of their small size and a great contract with the utility, electricity is CHEAP! I rarely had an electric bill over $70.00. Although, last summer the complex went over their allotted kWT usage and bills doubled for two months. It was over 100 degrees for at least 60 days in a row. Parking is tight. You are only allowed one space in the garage per apartment. If you live with someone, or guests are over you must park on McCue. I never had any problems with damage or break-ins, but I have seen cars with smashed windows and even a hit and run. I made sure that I NEVER left anything that looked like a laptop bag or briefcase in my car and always take your GPS cables and mounts down. It is the Galleria and auto break-ins are the number one crime in the area. On a pet note, the Manager and Assistant are dog lovers and the complex provides a dog walk park with clean-up stations. However, in order to love your pet, you will be charged a NON-REFUNDABLE pet fee of $400.00. That would have been $800.00 for my two cats! They went to friends instead of moving in with me.

Great location and lots of character
I lived at Galleria Oaks/Walden Internet Villages from 2006-2009. I think it's a great place for the price. You're right on Richmond at 610. There is tile and laminate/wood in the entire apartment which I liked because carpet can get really gross. I really can't complain. Sally and Tina were in the leasing office while I lived there and they were pretty good about responding to any need I had or any issues in the apartment (but I can't really think of any problems that I had while I lived there). I did have a 2nd floor apartment near the hot tub, so on the weekend, I could hear whoever was in the hot tub (and usually drunk). Other than that, though...I didn't have any out of the ordinary issues with noise. Had a washer and dryer in the unit and really fast internet, too.

Awesome Place to Live
I spent about 4 years in Galleria Oaks. I was on both a regular one bedroom and then on the rooftop apartments. The property is well maintained and the apartments are perfect size for a one bedroom. I ultimately decided on Galleria Oaks because the apartments had a more homey feel, not a "sterile" feel like many other newer properties I looked at. The management was awesome and mingled with residents well. I always felt welcome to just sit and chat in the office (when not busy) and was assured that my apartment needs/problems (when they occurred on rare occasions) were well taken care of. I had great times at Galleria Oaks and would recommend to anyone who doesn't mind an older property that is very well maintained.

This place is amazing!
I just moved in to Galleria Oaks. I have always lived in a brand new property and they all seem to have building issues or new construction problems. So, my girlfriend moved into Galleria Oaks about 9 months ago and loves it, so I decided to give a older property an chance. So far I LOVE IT! The office has been extremely helpful throughout my move-in process and the landscaping makes me feel like I'm living in paradise! So far so GOOD.
