Really Enjoy My Apartment!
I moved in to my apartment 3 days after the other resident moved out. I told them I needed to move quickly, as my old landlord had leased the house I was staying in, and they worked on the weekend to get me in ASAP. I haven't had many other issues here. I have a washer and dryer in my unit which is really nice. I try to get my friends to move in whenever I hear they are looking for a place! I only have two grumbles (They are not bad enough to be called a complaint =): 1. I live by what was once a pool. When I moved in the pool was jack hammered up and they said that they were working on fixing it up to look like the one by the leasing office. Now, almost a year later there is still a patch of weeds out there. I really don't care if there is a pool, but I wish they would make it look nice, and level out the soil, so no water sits in it, like it does now. I think the office seems to forget about us in the corner farthest away from them. The walk through gate by the office was painted, and a nice big green button was installed to open the gate, and the other gate closer to Sage has a broken door bell button and a lot of chipped paint. Otherwise, the grounds are really neat and well maintained. 2. My second grumble, that they really can't fix, there isn't much parking. I can't get a spot, close to my apartment, after about 10 most weekdays. They do have a good towing company that helps eliminate people that should be parking in the garage though. I also wish they would let the McCue gate open at all hours, now it closes at 10. Since no guests can park in the garage after 7 pm, it makes it a really long walk to get out to the cars parked on McCue. There are two walk-thru gates on McCue that we can't use anymore because they have been welded shut. The drive-thru gate closing at 10 on McCue wouldn't be a big deal if we could walk through those gates. I don't like having to walk down McCue late at night, and the gates would let me in a lot closer to my apartment. (Inside the gates, I have no problem with walking my dog around late at night, I feel very safe here.)

Beautiful place to live
This is a great place - the managers are personable (they always remember my name!), you get to know the maintenance guys, etc. I feel very safe living in this complex. It has beautiful landscaping and is well kept, so I always feel proud to show my friends my apartment. It's not too expensive, especially considering the area and how nice it is. Oh, and the tile/hardwood floors are amazing!!

I LOVE IT! DONT LISTEN TO THESE BITTER REVIEWS..NOT TRUE
I have really enjoyed living here so far. I saw that someone wrote their are rapes and registered sex offenders, living in the apartments. But any one with common sence cna look up on the internet and see there are no sex offenders living in the Galeria Oaks. And people are also saying managment are the only good reviews that they are just making up reviews. Whos to say the people writing the bad reviews are not some other apartment complex trying to gain more business??? Think about it. For closing statments I love it! Its quite, very friendly people and the managment is very nice and has done everything I have asked. Just today on my way to work Sally and bumped into each other and had a great conversation. And she didnt have to be she isnt on the clock or working.....just being friendly.

John

Property & Staff
I moved to Galleria Oaks back in December. I was first worried about the property being a little older than I was use too...boy was I wrong! The Manager is Fabulous, very helpful and informative; her assistant is outgoing and very pleasant and willing to help out at anytime. This property is will kept and neat at all times. You can really tell the staff along with management care about this property allot. I feel very safe and secure living here. I suggest you come and take a look at this DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH yourself...its GREAT!!!

very informative
i have lived in these apartments for the past two years AND i have read the reviews for the past year. i find it quite odd and amusing that the main complaints are focused on three things: Management, Cars being towed, and the animals. this brings me to the conclusion that if the problem seems to be just the above three, then maybe something is wrong. i have noticed a few examples of the above three. but when im only paying a nice price for "Galleria" living, i really cant complain. if i wanted great management, my car not being towed and no animals to bother me, i should move to a more expensive apartment. we get what we paid for, so everyone, what do you expect? i bet if our rent was higher we would have nicer and cordial management, high security and less pet problems. matter of fact, try next door, the apartments there are nice and im sure so is the management. but the rent is high. so my point is, we cant have everything.

Great Galleria Living
I have lived here for four years, I have friends that have moved here as well. I love the property it is matured and quite manicured for Galleria Living. If you are looking for a quite neighborly, pet friendly, moderately priced apartment in the Galleria, you should stop your search here. I have found the leasing staff and maintanence crew to be quite accomadating to request.

Property Quality
I've read the past review and I disagree with the comments completely! The property is very well maintained. I have only seen a few cats on this property in the past year. Yes, this property has had it share of cats passing through in the years past. As fare as the "OFFICE STAFF" they are very professional and just follow the rules. As fare as people who don't like rules and want to live at a place that has little or no rules at all...they need to move. I feel very safe living at this property and the staff seems to have the best interest
of their residents in mind! I would encourage you to take a look for yourself...I think you'll extremely surprised at the property and the staff that runs it!!! I just renewed for another 13 months :)

Nothing special, but a huge litter box
Compared to other apartments Galleria Oaks may not be too bad little crime and little noise, but that is not all. First the office staff is rude and misleading. Second the grounds and parking garage smells horrible and the back is unkept. Third there are feral cats all over the property. You can smell their waste all over the property, which is their litter box. You can complain about these health hazards and ask the management to call animal control, but guess what the management fully endorses this huge, feral cat colony. I am a pet lover, but this is a health problem. I have also had several neighbors complain about them having their cars towed for no reason. So if you want to move to a clean problem free place with nice management who don't violate city animal laws and who aren't towing cars for no reason stay away from this huge litter box.

THE STAFF
I have lived at this property for about 6 months, and I am very happy the only thing that I have a problem with is that they don't enforce the rules they make. They have this leash law for all dogs must have and I walk my dog on a leash but you see the employees running around with thier own dogs off the leash. And also have you ever been in that office and see how they talk to each other. I was in there a few days back paying my rent and the leasing agent in there was telling some one that she loves to get vehicles towed and said something snappy about a resident that walked out. ( I can only imagine what they say about me when I leave). I would complain to the office but I am worried that the girl that works in there might have it out for me. The manager is a really nice lady, she has been nothing but nice to me and my husband.

Really happy so far!
I am quite puzzled by some of the previous comments, especially the one right below mine.

My husband and I just moved in about 2 weeks ago, and we have been really happy so far. Although it is an older property, the grounds are well kept, the walls and windows, etc look new. The pool area and the jacuzzi area are beautiful.

We have had no problems finding parking at all, and even at night, we'll see plenty of parking spots left in the garage. If people complain about their cars getting towed, it's because they have their parking sticker in the wrong place. But you should have known about that already. There are lots and lots of expensive cars in the garage, so that should tell you something about the community and the safety of it.

Also, electricity has been working perfectly so far.

My unit is really really nice, and it's one of the cheaper 1 bedrooms too. Maintenance have been really on top of it. They came and fixed all our little problems within a day of turning in the evaluation form, even the little problems that we didn't care too much about. The staff have been friendly so far.

I have to say though, I do think that all the units aren't the same. Some units may have more tile flooring than others, and some still have their carpets. It may depend on when you moved in. They just re-did my apartment before I moved in, so I'm thinking that they are re-doing most of the apartments once the previous teanants move out. But if you do check this property out, make sure the one you see is the one you get, cos it might be very different.

Also, there is only one laundromat in the complex. It's really huge and clean, but if you live on the other side of the complex, you'll have to lug your laundry all the way. I happen to live really near it, so I"m lucky that way.

The property is really quiet. It is located in a really posh and convenient part of Houston. You can't hear the highway at all even though it's next to 610 and 59, and it's walking distance to the Galleria. I love the location.

I'm really satisfied so far, but if anything changes I'll post it again. Until then, just assume that things are great. =)

THis place is old
the staff seems nice and all, but the apartments are old. i can smell my neighbors cooking and smoking through my a/c. sometimes in the morning, the water in the shower comes out really dirty. sometimes the water comes up my kitchen sink when i wash clothes. they do keep it clean outside though. parking is hell for visitors and owners of more than one car. also, they began throttling your internet speeds... the thing that makes this place worthwile...

Finally a nicer place
I've lived in Galleria Oaks for a little over 2 months. I feel very safe here. The apartment itself is wonderful. Don't see a lof of the neighbors. But the ones you do see are extremely nice. The parking is the only thing that I have anything negative to say about. Parking is very limited. The grounds are wonderful and well maintained. The staff are very helpful and respond to requests for maintenance. I highly recommend this great place!

I'm going to miss Galleria Oaks
I will be moving back to Dallas soon after exactly 5 years of living at Galleria Oaks. You just cannot beat the price for the location, the great and caring staff, and the well kept, beautiful landscaping and communal areas (including a great swimming pool). I have taken advantage of the availability of the inexpensive super-high speed internet services, loving that I have not had to deal with a typical broadband provider. The complex makes you pay for basic cable (TV MAX, which while not great does get you the local hi-def stations FREE) at a very affordable rate (<$20/mo). The complex also pays all electric in bulk and passes on a 10% discount to you - you're unit is individually metered. As I had a ground floor unit, and thus well insulated, my electricity would run from $35-$80/month. Very easy to budget. Most units have W/D hook-ups, some have W/D in them, and others have neither freeing up lots of closet space. Speaking of closets, each unit has two VERY large closets, and while the bathrooms and kitchens are smallish, the rest of your one-bedroom is pretty spacious. As previous reviewers have stated, you only get one parking space per unit, with the exceptions of the 15 or so 2-bedroom units (which are nigh-on impossible to get), but the parking areas are well lit and the entire complex not only 'feels' safe, but IS safe. Like the previous reviewer, I too would like to see the management put lights on the east side of the building to light up McCue for those that must park out there. For me, it has been a great place to call home in Houston, and I'm going to miss it.

NICE place!
I have lived here for about 7 months. My expereince living at this property has been wonderful. The landscaping is beautiful and very well maintained! The manager/office staff are very helpful and nice. This is an older property but everyone seems to be very trendy that lives here. I Love It! I strongly recommend this property.

Great Place to Live
I moved from Tulsa back in January and had a 6 month lease, but signed a 1 year lease now. The parking is sort of a burden, especially when you go shopping later in the evening and you're parking on the other side of the apartment and carrying groceries. I do not feel uneasy though, it's a very safe place. I feel that this is probably the safest place in Houston, it's gated, the garage is gated (and patroled), the staff knows most everyone by name, it's great to be known. This place feels like Raymond's place. The place was built in the 80s, but you can not tell that now, I thought it was only 2 or 3 years old. If management reads this, one suggestion: assign parking spots that make it fair for all people to park as close as possible to their apartments, don't allow the people on the east side to park on the west side of the garage and force the people on the west side to park on the east, the east side is always empty and they should park on their side. The west side has no more parking than the east does, nor does it have less people. Now that I got that off of my chest, it's still a wonderful place to live. The price is right too, except for pet deposit, it's too high and you get none of the money back.

Actually It's Quite Safe!
I have lived here for 3 years and have only seen the cops out once. I am a single female and feel nothing but safe. I know my neighbors and they know me. In the past few years they have done serious renovations. Both pools, parking garage, security cameras, new lighting... etc.... I think it's a great place to live and the rent is great for the area!

WOW is all i can say...
Since i moved here 2 weeks ago, i have seen nothing but improvements. The back pool, the pet walking area, etc...each day something new is happening to improve this place. All i can say is WOW. IT shows that these people really care about this place. They are doing everything to make this place look nice. Inside the units look just as great. The staff is outstanding...its true, they are very cheerful and the -------- looking one is so energetic its like she rubs off her energy on u when you go in the office. Because i alwasy leave the office with a BIG SMILE...So thank you Galleria Oaks for making me feel at home.

Great staff,location and apartments
Recently moved here from San Antonio and didn't even dare to dream that I could afford to live anywhere in the uptown area but here I am just a few minutes walk from the Galleria.
This place is outstanding ! The staff are very professional and caring,Yes caring ! They will go the extra mile to make sure that you are taken care of. The buildings and grounds are extremely well kept and the parking is excellent.
And the big bonus especially for a computer guru like me is the T-1 internet connection.
I would strongly recommend that anyone in the Houston area or coming to Houston and looking for apartment take the time to check this place out...it has it all !!!

Somethings money can't buy...
I've lived here for four years, and although we've been reasonably happy here, something happened today that made it clear that Galleria Oaks is 'home'. Our dog got out of the apartment and took off down the street. The manager, Sally, spent hours of her own time helping us look for her. The maintenance men and Tina helped as well. You can't buy that amount of compassion or humanity, either people have it, or they don't. I'm touched by their level of care of their tenants and their animals. We've thought about moving, but based on their actions today, I'm glad we're still here. Thank you Sally, Tina and staff.

What a Difference!
Moving here was hard because i came from Austin and that is one very safe place. However, i knew that Houston had more crimes than where i was coming from. I must say, living here has helped calm me down a lot. All my neighbors are friendly, the complex is SUPER quiet. The garage is being patrolled daily adn nightly. The staff at the office lives here and i see them everyday when i get off work. All in all, i'm happy to have picked this place. For those looking, come chek it out. I can DEFINITELY say im glad i made the right choice...

Not Safe!!
OMG! Richmond Ave. sucks a*@!!! Parking is horrible for anyone visiting you and only one car per house is allowed in garrage! Which brings me to my point... The first day we moved in, my husband bought a car the same day. We parked my car in the garage and his in the front parking lot (since only one car in the garage!). Got up in the morning to go to work and no car for my husband to go to work in!! The first day he got the car it was stolen! We found the car up on Hilcroft in some ------ apartments. This was like 3 years ago so I can just guess how horrible they are now! We had neighbors that were always fighting and the girl would beat up her boyfriend. Cops were out there a lot. Do not move here if you are single, female, married, male, desperate, poor, homeless, young or old!!! This place is bad for anyone!

My Judgement
I have one advice for those who are searching for their future home. Go and see for yourself. After reading the reviews, i was a bit weary thinking why am i wasting my time. But boy am i glad i went and saw for myself. The place is very nice and liveable. The complex is very QUIET and peaceful. I was so impressed, i filled out the application on the spot and put my money down to move in. I will be a resident starting April 1, 2006. So far, so good. I am very impressed and i DO feel welcomed by the office. As far as what happens while i'm there, trust me i will post it whether it goes good or bad. But as of right now, i'm looking forward to living there. So for those who are still looking: stop by, make your own judgement. I think you will be in for a very pleasant surprise.
