Staff is friendly and courteous. Maintenance does their best and quick to respond though what is requested is not always interpreted correctly. Insulation and air conditioning/heat flow is not the best. Neighbors can be a bit noisy with their music/instruments (really thin walls) and don't always clean up after their dogs. But besides all the minor details, it has been a good experience.

I lived there for almost 6 month's I have lived in several apartments this one is by far the worse! The ac was broke the whole time I lived there when I asked them to fix it the ac worked for a total of 3 days my neighbor played his music so loud it would shake my walls and when I asked then to take care of it they asked if I had spoken to him.... completely unexceptable. They cut of your ac in the winter and your heat during the summer so when we had days in august that dropped to the 60'S my apartment was 63 degrees. When you call the office you normaly dont get through and if they do answer they twist things instead of fixing the problem. I thought this was going to be a great place to live bit its not. I almost forgot the huge ant problem... I paid for pest control but in the 6 months I was there no one came out the only way I got the ants to go away was to put in the plug things. It was horible don't move there!!

I have lived in this complex for three years and have been pleased with the staff and the community. Maintenance is always completed in a timely manner, and notify residents the job is completed. This is the best complex I have lived in the metroplex

We love it here! Staff is great. We have lots of friendly neighbors. View from our apt is gorgeous. Lots of room for three of us here. Love pool in summer. Rent just has to stay affordable so we can stay here. We are close to school and work and family.

It is a great peaceful community overall. Lately there a some people who leave trash bags outside the container even outside the space reserved for this purpose and also I found several plastic bottles and disposable beverage cups in front of the building.

It is an older complex and does not have recent renovations. Over priced for the quality of whhat you actually get. Things are break all of the time. The only decent things in apartment are the appliances. Their sister complex, the avalon, was much nicer and I would have much rather moved in there.

Our experience at Thornbury @ Chase Oaks Apartment has been very good. The community, office staff, overall aura of the place is satisfactory. If without with the "high rent increase" with no apt features upgrades, we would want to stay here.

Very safe, secure community. Friendly, helpful staff who are willing to assist with any problem. Well maintained grounds and buildings. Clean grounds. Pet friendly with well maintained dog park. Great workout facility and pool area. Great location.

Thornbury is nothing special. There are no amenities to speak of compared to other complexes. A few of the office staff are very nice and a few are unfriendly. Maintenance staff has always been friendly. No assigned parking so if you happen to get home after 10:00 pm, good luck finding a spot close to your apartment. Hope you like walking in the dark. I find flyers for restaurants / moving companies / etc on my door all the time. Not interesting. I pay to lived in a gated complex and it seems that everyone has access to it.

I have been very satisfied with my apt. Even though this apt complex was further out if my radius, I chose this apt complex because of the outdoor settings. I love the terrain and the trees. The fact that the apt and the staff is nice is an added bonus.

Very professional and lovely community. I enjoy coming home from work everyday to such a pretty home. The layout is wonderful. Very quiet and beautiful landscape surrounding the complex. I love the view. I was hoping to find a place like this to call home.

Amazing Community with its surreal landscape makes this a rare find for apartments in the DFW area. Love the staff and their willingness to communicate with their renters. We are getting married in May 2014 and are happy to call this place home.

I have been extremely satisfied with my residency here at Thornbury. The office staff is courteous and pleasant and are willing to help in anyway their can. Services that have been rendered me while tenentcy has been done in a timely and courteous manner.

The complex is not kept up as well as it used to be. The landscaping is dying. The sprinklers run, but in front and back of building 16 it seems the grass and sod that was put out are dead. When these were planted they also trimmed trees back so the sun could get to the new grass. They said they were going to truck water in if needed. That has not happened.

I have lived in several different apartments in the Plano area (5) and this one is by far the best. The grounds are very clean and well landscaped with lots and lots of green/trees. It makes walking my dog outside actually really enjoyable. By comparison, most apartments just have cars and concrete everywhere with the occasional small patch of grass here and there...kind of like a mall parking lot (with the exception of the pool area obviously). Speaking of pool, its a nice one although I honestly have never used it. The deck area around it looks really nice, it has allot of shade (again trees everywhere) and would be great to have birthday parties, etc. They also have a dog park in a wooded area with lots of shade. Its an actual park too... meaning its big enough for dogs, lots of dogs to run around in. Its not a little 10x10 yard fenced area like what most apartments call a "dog park". Also, those with pets here pick up after them (nothing is worse than neighbors that don't). with apartments in the area... just cement everywhere. The office staff here are pretty awesome... they actually treat you like a valued customer, not like a pain in rear tenant. Sadly I cant say that I have been treated like a valued customer at any other apartments I lived in once I signed that contract... unless of course it was time to renew the lease again. I have had a few major maintenance issues (my apartment flooded twice), but they were really good about taking care of them. They even replaced the carpet (they offered) and made it a hassle free experience (It was done in a matter of 4-5 hours, and they moved all of the furniture... I just watched TV). For minor maintenance issues, you can expect to have them fixing the problem the same or next day. The apartments themselves are on the nicer side (crown molding, new/nice fixtures, plush carpet, modern appliances, simulated wood floors that actually look nice), but I wouldn't call this a luxury apartment complex (no marble floors, granite counter tops, stainless steel refrigerator, etc). Lots of space wide open space is important to me because I have allot of big furniture and hate the feeling of being confined. The floor plan I live in delivers (the larger 2 bedroom)... its very spacious feeling. Parking is a non issue. There is plenty of parking close to my apartment, I would assume its the everywhere else within the complex. Covered parking is free... garage is extra. Most of the neighbors are great, I only had one I didn't particularly care for and they only lasted a couple of months. I live on the first floor and cannot hear the people above me walking around, which had been a big problem at my previous apartment. I actually cant hear any neighbors at all... the walls must be pretty decently insulated. Speaking of insulated walls, running the A/C and heater doesnt cost you an arm and a leg. I usually keep the thermostat around 75 year round and am very pleased with how low my utility bills are (I lived in an older complex where I would get electric bills north of $300 while keeping the temp on 78!). We have a smart electric meter so I can log in online and monitor/track our electricity usage in real time (I don't of course... but its there if I wanted to). Okay, now for the things that I don't like. I wish there was more lighting surrounding the parking lots and grassy areas around the complex. Its by no means dangerous dark, the actual parking lot and breeze ways are adequately lit. I would just like to be able to enjoy the scenery while walking around the complex once the sun goes down. Also, I wish they had a trash pickup service. I know that comes with negatives too(people leaving trash in the hallway for more than a day), but the dumpsters on site tend to get full too frequently. When the dumpster near you is full, you are supposed to go find one of the other many dumpsters on site that is empty. Like a good little tenant you trek down the street with your trash to another dumpster only to find that one full as well. End result, the trash usually ends up getting piled up in front of the full dumpster anyways... I don't think many people put much more effort in "dumpster hunting" after the second attempt. Finally, if squarrals bother you, than this may not be a good place for you (again, the trees). I personally like them around, but I could see how it would bother some people because sometimes you can hear them climbing around on walls/windows. Overall, I would say that this place is awesome, I would definitely recommend this place to people I like.

Overall I can say it hasn't been completely terrible, but not really a lot of great things to speak of either. Nothing that stands out enough to mention. The apartments themselves are decent for what you pay. The neighbors are another story. I understand some noise is to be expected in apartments but when it sounds like your neighbors are hosting UFC nightly & wakes up your infant child that is just people being inconsiderate. Doors slamming, drunk friends coming to visit (yelling, banging on doors, and loud music) AT ALL HOURS! Also had a neighbor cut me off at the intersection by the apartments. I honked at him, as any person would who had been cut off, and he then followed me into the apartment complex, parked beside me as I was checking the mail and started yelling at me and calling me profanities before going into the gate to park. I now have safety concerns as I have to walk by their door EVERY DAY!! Once I went to confront the upstairs neighbor about the noise after my child had been awakened and saw AT LEAST a dozen people in the apartment, and I'm pretty sure they all lived there, in a 2 bedroom. So, yeah not bad apartments, maybe I just got stuck next to the crappiest reisidents in the community because they have absolutely zero regard for the fact that people live around them. Also don't expect to EVER be able to park close to your building. People leave their cars parked in prime spots for 6 months (I counted once), without EVER leaving. They do this because they have multiple cars and just use one and leave the other parked in front for months and months. The office can't/won't do anything because there are no parking rules. When the tags expire and they attempt to tow it, the owner just puts on new stickers. Residents are also lazy and do not put their trash IN the dumpster they just toss it in front of the dumpster and block the entry way for people like me who actually know how to pick up after themselves, be responsible for themselves and are considerate of the community. Clearly not everyone has the same values.

The move in process was wonderful. Constant communication from the staff. Only 2 items to be addressed when moved in and those items were dealt with within 24 hours with an email confirmation containing an ETA for the part that needed to be ordered. I was impressed. All the residents I have encountered are friendly and appear to be very respectful of each other.

My overall experience is very good. No issues with any of my neighbors after over two years. No noise complaints, everyone just does what they do and they don't bother you. I love the trees in this complex they are very high with not a lot of branches.

From move in through current stay it has been a great experience, very well kept community and if there are ever any maintenance issues they are addressed immediately. I would really recommend this property for anyone looking for a nice, clean place to call home.

I moved from a house i owned - really happy - office staff great - - maintenance staff say hello when you pass them outside and they get things working - Im no handy man so appreciate that. Usually the service issue is resolved the same day or the day after ... really excellent

I love this community - you can be involved or not. The atmosphere is easy going. Golf course views, so peaceful. Grounds are kept neatly trimmed and seasonal plantings abound. The office staff are friendly, helpful and seem to care. I would recommend living here to all.

I enjoy how quiet it is. I feel safe. I like how spacious it is, rooms are a great size, ans well as living space. Having a toddler it was important that the two bedrooms were in the opposite side of the entrance. No bug problems since I been living here.

I have really enjoyed living in this commuity because it is so peaceful, quiet and a beautiful property. I am on currently living on the ground floor and my patio view is incredible! It is like having my own backyard. My current and previous neighbors are and have been friendly people. It's been a great experience, thus far.

It hasn't been good at all which is why I am Being let out of my lease. Last I counted in the almost 2 years I've been here I've had 22 work orders & 2 floods. They offered To move me & waive the move fee. Wow. A crappy location when On the golf course & both of my garages are Right by my apartment. Needless To say they also went up higher than any apartment I've lived in with no justification & I got nothing in return but a flood with no concessions To even help offset my move. On top of all of this I am on disability.
