A picture is worth a thousand words. This is happening most of the time lately, trash everywhere and some of them are on the ground for more than a week and it is not because holidays, it looks like this complex is getting worst and worst.

We have had some issues with management which were disappointing since we moved but overall our request were addressed and resolved outside of one. The parking situation is questionable at best. The supporting office staff is very nice and accommodating and always helpful. The new maintenance manager Herman is wonderful. A welcomed and huge plus for this community. I found him to be a breath of fresh air with a outstanding attitude giving confidence that maintenance issues will always be addressed and taken care of. A very warm welcome Herman!!

The maintenance staff is awesome. Met Herman today. Wow what a great guy. Was very knowledgeable and informed me of what he was going to do. Had our fridge up and running and also tackled a couple other small things we needed help with. Thanks so much for the help and smiles. Communication makes everything so much better

Thornbury has been a great place to call home for the past 2 years. All of my neighbors are very friendly and overall it is a very peaceful place in a great location. Maintenance requests used to be a little slow but I've definitely seen an improvement in service response time over the past year. I just renewed my lease for another year and I am very happy with that decision.

Oh man! I have so much to say. I was suppose to move into this apartment community on May 16th, but upon arrival the apartment had not been adequately clean or the make ready had been not finished. There was dust and cob webs caked up on the walls and the door frames. The floors were not cleaned, the base board looked dirty and inside of the cabinets were dirty. The guest bathroom had not been resurfaced, there was yellow staining in the grout of the shower. There was some kind of black substance in the sink. The guest bath light gixture was rusted, there was a chunk missing from the counter tip. There were so many holes in the walls, and you can tell the walls weren't painted. There were so many exposed wires. The guest bedroom window seal looked like it had water damage. It was buckled on both sides. I also believe there was black mold in the apartment. I am currently 9 months pregnant and did not want to get to close to see. The most upsetting part is that we applied for this apartment 2 months prior to our move in. So they were very aware of the time frame we needed to move in. About a week after we applied for our first apartment with Thornbury, the office called and asked if we would be willing to move to another apartment since the tenant in that current apartment wanted to retract their notice. Since they had a first floor unit available instead of the second floor we agreed to this. We did them a favor by moving when in reality they should have told the tenant that they had already leased out the apartment to someone else and made them transfer. After we agreed to this I asked for a new Welcome home letter so I can see the pricing we had to pay monthly and for the move in. But after a month I never recieved one and had to call and ask again. After I received the new WHL the price for the new apartment was much higher than what they told me when they asked us to move. They ended up honoring the price that they first told me.. Over the 2 months time frame I began setting up my services required for move in and provided those details to Ross (the leasing agent). But the week of move in Kadence (the assistant manager) had to ask for all the information I had already provided. I brought all of this information to the manager Chip, and unfortunately I do not feel as he has been much help. As I stated i am 9 months pregnant and decided to move out of my other apartment 2 weeks early to be ready for my babies arrival. We paid extra money to be ready and the apartment was no were near ready. They did start doing the make ready while we had moved stuff in the apartment but this was all stuff that should have been ready prior to our move in date! When I picked up keys, Ross told me this was the best apartment he had seen! I read bad reviews but decided to dismis them because I myself had worked in the industry and know how people can be. But in this one I should have taking them seriously! Stay away from this place!

I've lived here for about 1 1/2 years. It's been great- maintenance is prompt, staff is friendly. The property is quiet and off the beaten path with lots of walking & biking trails. My doggo loves the bark park! Overall, great value for a good neighborhood in Plano with lots of nature access. I'll be renewing in the fall

I have lived at Thornbury for the past year and have really enjoyed it. The huge trees are great, and the community is very quiet. Maintenance takes care of any issues quickly and I plan on staying here until it's time to buy a house.

Worst place ever. I had emails wanting things fixed and they would never fix. I ended up repairing ice maker, kitchen faucet, and closet shelves on my own. When we moved out they sent us a bill with ridiculous charges on the same stuff I complained about since day one. The office people are incompetent and worst staff ever. Beware. Don't let happen to you what my wife and I experienced

We moved here about a year ago, and have had a great experience here. Our apartment is modern and relatively well constructed, aside from the kitchen being a little cramped. It's really felt like home here. We absolutely love the neighborhood, and really enjoy all the trees on the property. If it weren't for the long commute to work, we would absolutely stay. The people working in the front office are able to answer our questions pretty consistently. Every once in a while, the office will have a resident event of some sort. We have had to call maintenance a few times, but they always arrived in a timely fashion to fix the problem, usually within 24 hours. We did see some bugs in the house especially in the summer as we are on the first floor, but that's pretty par for the course on lower floors- we just bought pest repellant and traps and before long it was taken care of. No infestations of any sort, just bugs coming in from outside. My only real note is the pool isn't kept up incredibly well, it always seems to have leaves and bugs and such floating in it, but I do know pools are hard to keep clean especially when surrounded by trees. So there's only so much you can do I suppose.

We have been here almost 3 months now, and has been nothing but a great experience. Ashley (leasing staff) went above and beyond from the start, and met me on a Saturday early am before the office was even open to hand me the keys as I had deliveries starting at 8:00 am. That evening was one of north Tx. cold snaps and we had no heat, I called the on-site maintenance, arrived in 5 min. just a flip of a switch. Brittany (staff )always helpful as is the manager Julianna who will always take the time with you. This property may be a little older but well kept, and it's beauty charm, and staff make it a great place to call HOME. C.

This was the first apartment I moved to when I moved to the DFW area. Location was amazing! It's literally 5 minutes away from Interstate 75 which basically connects you to everything! My apartment was very spacious for the price. The whole team Juliana, Iris, Brittany, and Ashley were always a joy to visit in the leasing office. I would definitely move back if I ever end up back in Plano!

Maintenance and staff are worst at this place. The staff was replaced few months back and they are all new and does not even know who to enter the maintenance requests to the system. I have to call multiple times to get maintenance taken care of and last work to replace a metal plate in bath tub took them over a month. I would not recommend this place anymore

The only issue i have since I've lived here is the maintenance team. Well more so one individual in particular. I have gone two days without AC. And this guy, who is suppose to fix it, keeps shutting it off and telling me it's fixed. It has been 100degrees in my apartment for two days. No fault of the office since they atleast have been great at sending maintenance guys over when i need them. And are able and willing to assist fellow residents such as myself. My issue is literally this one maintenance guy. He's making me not want to continue my stay with thornburry even though up til this point my stay was extremely satisfactory.

Thornbury at Chase Oaks is great place to come home. The ladies in the office are amazing: Juliana, Brittany, & Stormi, & recent addition of Ledley. They truly care about the tenants and will do their best to ensure all issues are resolved promptly and courteously. The office is open & staffed 7 days a week, with always pleasant staff ready to assist. Safety-parking lots are well-lit, and neighbors are friendly. Noise level-at a bare minimum, and in a 3rd story apartment no neighbors are heard at all through the walls. Property grounds-a work in progress, with the clearing away of tree branches & debris as ongoing. Another reviewer advised in an earlier post about power washing being needed in the stairwells/buildings/walkways, and yes, this is true, it is needed! Grills & Picnic Tables-located throughout the entire property. Dog Park-onsite. Pool, hot tub, cabana-onsite, and well maintained year round. Gym/work out room-onsite. Maintenance requests-appears to be a challenge resulting in the 4 star review.

This apartment complex looks nice (looks good from afar, but far from good) and is shaded with large trees, yet that's where it ends. It would be easier to discuss what was good; which I can summarize my 1 year lease as I had a roof over my head, When I first started the lease here, I was told I had to wait one week for the apartment to be cleaned and made ready. Upon entering the apartment, the paint was uneven throughout the unit; sliding glass shower doors had been removed from the bathtub... yet left in the bathroom on the floor. White paint residue was everywhere, on the fan blades, on the black painted cabinetry, the wood tile floor. The keys provided didn't work for the storage closet on the patio. The gas company said the gas water heater was not to code, wouldn't touch it, and simply stated that the maintenance staff would have to light the pilot; this meant no hot water for three days. The refrigerator was slightly dysfunctional, some weeks it would freeze everything in the fridge compartment while items in the freezer would never stay frozen (not once did I feel good about putting seafood in the freezer). They changed out the fridge with a larger unit, which sounded good until the laundry door wouldn't open. The solution was to remove the laundry door entirely. Opting to keep the laundry door, they reversed the door... which you can open the door but with the fridge being so large, you cannot open the laundry door all the way. In one bathroom the access hatch leaks, the other bathroom running the shower results in a sound I can only describe as a tugboat horn. I submitted at least 5 work orders for water leaking from the bathroom and the average response time was >1 week, with my last issue still unresolved after 30+ days. The office staff acts as if they care, yet there is zero follow-up... actions speak louder than words. In closing, with the inability to maintain the property compounded by office staff inability to follow-up with tenants leaves me with a feeling that property management company is only concerned about their bottom dollar... which may not be an issue now, it will end up costing them as these instances increase or continue.

This review may be a little unique as it covers only our experience with the Thornbury At Chase Oaks Staff throughout our search and leasing process via long distance without ever actually seeing the property in person. My family is moving from Los Angeles to Plano in early April. We started our search in January and narrowed our list to the final two properties based on our many criteria - area, safety, affordability, size of apartment, location, on-line reviews, etc.. The Thornbury Staff couldn't have been more helpful, pleasant, responsive and professional. We mostly worked with Juliana who made us feel welcome, answered all our questions, was proactive and sent us all the information we requested. She was extremely easy to work with and we feel we got to know her and that she had our best interest in mind. We also worked with Brittany who actually confirmed for us that we were approved for our lease. We honestly can't wait to start our new life in Texas at Thornbury At Chase Oaks and we are confident our experience living there will be as wonderful as it has been working with the Staff.

Living here Is such a peaceful and pleasant dream. It's beautiful aura and nature can put anyone in a zen mood. My apartment like many others here on property overlook the Waters Creek Golf Course, which makes living here even more worth wild. Neighbors are kind and to themselves. There is nose but that of the beautiful nature. Choosing to live here wouldn't be a let down! Oh and ask for Brittnay when you come. She is the best and will make you feel at home with her genuine personality and down to Earth character. ~DesireA

I have had multiple issues with management until Christi became the new manager. She listened to all my needs, addressed them & called me back. She is making my living experience way better. Maintenance seems to be addressing issues faster & the girls in the office are nicer. Thanks

I enjoyed living at the property mainly due to the management staff. Juliana and Brittany were always so amazing and helpful whenever needed. They responded to any maintenance requests and make sure someone took care of the issues inside our apartment. The only downfall is the limited parking, but that is outside the control of the management.

Everything about this property, from the leasing staff (especially Brittany) to the structures, are phenomenal. Throughout the whole process of showing us the property, Brittany remained patient and honest with me, even offering great and significant discounts and deal packages to help me save. Her knowledge of the property and the surroundings was remarkable as well. I give her and the property the highest recommendation.

This is not a bad place to live. I actually really like living here. What I REALLY don't like is that the office won't hold tenants mail. If it won't fit into a TINY mailbox the office refuses to hold it even for just a day. This has been a ridiculous problem for me as I order a lot of things online (Etsy, makeup brushes, etc.) and I've had to start sending everything to my office. MY PLACE OF WORK because the place that is supposed to be HOME to me that I pay $1400+ a month for won't hold packages anymore. They held packages when I first moved in but after I was here a little while they decided, for some unknown reason, not to anymore. Can I ask what the deal is with that? The office isn't big enough or what? There is plenty of space in that stupid office for people (who pay to live here!) to have their mail held and not have to send it to their place of business. I shouldn't have to drive 15 minutes to the post office to pick up my things or worse have things "lost in the mail". It's starting to cost me money. Besides that there's the raging herd of buffalo above me with four kids stomping at all hours. Who moves to a second story apartment WITH 4 KIDS??? Nothing is done about it. I'm just stuck living under these noisy, inconsiderate people until my lease is up and then I'm moving to an apartment with an elevator. Because if there's an elevator there has to be a certain thickness for each level. I don't know why I didn't think of that before I moved here. I will say that maintenance is very prompt. They always take care of things quickly if it is within their ability to fix. However, if it's not... tough. They tell you that it is the sub-contractors that need to fix it. The oven in this apartment is older than me. The burners don't fit so every time I cook I have to do a lot of stirring. Lol! Having said all that I will say that I do like the grounds, they are very well maintained and I love the amount of trees here. Other than the people who live above me (that apparently are 600 lbs or most likely the flooring is just suuuuuuuuuper thin and crappy) it is really quiet. I hope this helps someone. If I had to do it over I would move somewhere else. I was just tired of apartment searching and this was close to work but now that I've had some time to research... I'll be moving when my lease is up. #1 question at the next apartment: DO YOU HOLD MAIL FOR YOUR TENANTS?

My mother in law and I came to this property on March 2, 2017 around 5:25pm. This property is in a nice convenient location in Plano. It looks like it's been there for a while, but recently has some updates. We walked in and stood in the front waited to be greeted. Nothing.. We walked further into the leasing office one lady sitting at the first desk to the right looked up and and continued speaking to a gentleman in front of her. The other associate/ associates were going through paper work and walking around the office. A lady walked passed us us teoce talking extremely loud. After waiting in the office for more information to move into this property we finally left. As we walked out I turned around to see if they even noticed we were there (of course they did) the lady at the first desk (now to my left) as we walked out looked me in the eyes then turned away. Moral of the story... Move here if you want to be treated as if you don't exists. Move here if you don't want to be acknowledged.. Move here if you want TERRIBLE customer service. I can only imagine how their occupants are treated. If you didn't understand the Moral of this story DO NOT MOVE HERE!
