This is easily the best apartment I have lived in, and I have been in quite a few. I continue to be impressed by the courtesy and professionalism of all the staff. I have not had any major issues since moving in, and the minor wear and tear is promptly taken care of when I ask for it. The maintenance staff is always on top of routine matters. The area is close to freeways and anything I need is in close proximity. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Good valve for price, great amenities, easy interstate access, friendly office and maintenance staff. A great location, couple blocks from hospital, many places nearby several within walking distance, several stores and pharmacy within a miles. What are you waiting for, waiting to meet you, neighbor...

Noise from the apt above, not sure if they removed the carpet cause it squeaks so loud when someone walks etc. We ourselves were conscious of the posible noise we make for the people downstairs and try as much as we could to slowly walk. Adalay overall is friendly and professional cant complain.

I have always been very happy with the prompt response time whenever I have needed maintenance. Since I have a large dog, maintenance has always been willing to work with my schedule so I can be home when they come by. Excellent service! Friendly and professional. Always prepared.

So far so good. The staff has been very helpful and the property manager Rebecca has been on top of all of our request. The grounds are immaculate at all times. To go from a house to an apartment was a bit intimidating but the staff has made the transition super smooth and painless. It is greatly appreciated.

I have the best maintenance and representatives in the office. All of my requests are handled in a timely manner! The women in the office are the friendliest people. Anytime there is a problem, question, or concern they are there to answer any question asked.

Have had a very good experience, the staff is friendly and very outgoing. Parking is the only negative part of living here but I think that's the way it is in other communities as well. But the pool and clubhouse enhance living here. I'm quite happy here.

The Good: The apartments are nice inside, especially the upgraded ones. The amenities are nice (gas grill, pool, car wash, etc...). The parking lots are pretty well lit and I've always felt safe at night. The Bad: Paying rent is a hassle every month, the system is down the first of every month. Also, they have a very large fine if you are late with rent ( 10%, plus a $130 attorney fee ). Only half of the cardio equipment in the gym works (only one treadmill and one ellyptical). They never have paper towels or cleaning solution in the gym to wipe down the machines after using them. The free starbucks coffee maker is usually out of coffee. Based on the price you aren't getting what you pay for in my opinion.

My experience living here has been a good. My place is clean and has good space in the living areas. I recommend living on the third floor. The place I rented in jacksonville was on the second floor and I will never do that again. I haven't had any problems with noise since I've moved to the adalay bay apartments. The swimming pool is great here. It was one of the reasons we decided to move into these apartments. That and the car wash. We wash my car every weekend not including the winter. I will warn you that they shut it down during the winter. We've always wanted a german sheppard and we just found out we can get one. That's why I'm writing this review. I kept seeing people with huge dogs here and I found out it's allowed. That's the best news we've gotten since we didn't want to move to this area in the first place. I knew a few people that lived here and recommended it to me and they all like it. Long story short, we like. We're not moving. Everyone is nice and you can have big dogs.

At first glance the apartment seems nice and professional. However this is not the case. I went on the lease with my Navy boyfriend and I specifically asked them before signing that if he deploys could I also break the lease since I couldn't afford it on my own. The representative assured me I could and wouldn't be held responsible. Now that my boyfriend is deploying, they won't let me off the lease. It was ignorance on their part for providing false information to get me to sign the lease so even if he breaks it, they're still getting their money from me. On another note, the water heater broke, the sink leaked all over the kitchen, the A/c went out, the heat broke for days. All of this broke within 45 days of moving in. Thank God I Only signed a 6 month lease. Oh And you can hear every little bit of noise outside and upstairs. Never again.

I have been here not even 2 months and already things are going haywire ... Nothing works in the apartment, they try and fine you for everything and the one chick ------ in the front office is beyond rude. They have no sense of urgency when half of the apartment has running water and electricity and the other half doesn't. I feel so bad that I have subjected my family to this mess. They want to get paid on time but can't render services on time. This is beyond my imagination. We won't renew our lease at all.

I have lived in Adalay Bay for a few months now and hate the way management doesn't separate the water and the rent payments for convenience. I thought that the cost to exterminate was management's responsibility. They have huge cockroaches lurking around. I do feel that the rent is rather high for an older construction. The women in the office are very friendly and down to earth. I think that their coporate office should definitely consider placing two boxes that gives you the option to pay rent and water or water alone. It would make the process easier. All the neighbors are friendly. In reference to the late fee, I am a Government worker and was furloughed. My pay was delayed until that Friday which sucked. I would have been nice if the late fee was not accessed until the 5th of each month. Overall, there is a pest problem otherwise it would not be billed to our monthly statements each month.

I currently live here until my lease is up then we will definitely be moving. The girls at the office don't even know what they're doing or know nothing that's going on. Every time I put a maintenance request in I have to call them to come fix it after a week of putting it in. They charge you for anything you can imagine. The parking is horrible and you end up having to park a mile from your building. I was told when we had a rental vehicle that we had to park in visitor parking because parking in front of buildings is for resident vehicles. So after paying over $1500 a month I cant park in front of my building with a rental car and if I do I may be towed. Hmmmm makes sense. Overall I would not recommend this place. There's only ONE trash compactor and if you leave your trash outside your door they charge you $25 a bag but everyone else does it. We have had a horrible welcoming from this place. The play ground is located behind the trash so when you take your kids to play it smells like trash and the park looks grungy. The rent is way to high with all the stupid charges they include and the constant noise of the highway next to our building. And expect to pay water every month.

I have happily lived here for almost 3 years. The landscaping looks good,, the apartment is clean and large, and I can fit my truck in my garage. My issues are centered around parking and irresponsible dog owners not picking up. Parking fills up after 5 pm and some dog owners never have bags. My maintenance problems are fixed quickly. Nesbett and Alan are always professional. The office is helpful and knows everyone by their first name. I will not be moving anytime soon.

MILITARY BEWARE!! There are Chiefs, JOs, and Petty Officers (active and retired) trying to get this place blacklisted!! The front desk is super friendly... until you have a complaint about something, then they have no problem bashing you to the other residents and ignore every request that you have, and god forbid you contact the corporate office. Bills: They charge for pest control each bill, but there are rats running around the complex and spiders/cockroaches/beetles/ants/etc in your apartment. The Orkin guy comes by... but no one ever sees him. The water bill is split up equally. So that family of four using more water than you? The sprinklers going off during the rain? The car wash center? Yeah, you're paying for that water bill. The apartments looks nice inside dont they? Until you move in. The cheap linoleum will peel, and the carpets have stains (Despite the fact that every new apartment is supposed to have their carpets replaced). OH, and when you move out, you have to get your carpet steam cleaned. BUT DONT WORRY, they CHOOSE who you get them steam cleaned from, and dont worry, theyre expensive too, so they'll do a great job. The maintenance and everyone else hired by the management, are fantastic, but are totally used, abused, and treated poorly by the front desk. Its sad to watch. I could go on but you'll move in if you want to move in. I was ignorant and assumed it would stay nice.. I didnt understand the bad reviews about the staff until I moved in.

This complex is not worth the money they charge. Yes they have a beautiful club house with awesome amenities but the old saying of "you can shine a turd...." rings very true with this complex. There has been 3 different owners in the last 3 years and the newest one takes the take for a poorly run operation. The quality of residents is declining and if you don t mind hearing your neighbors every move then this place is for you. just last weekend i had to go next door and ask them to stop screaming while they had a party. the people above is have a very small dog that barks all day (which is fine because I m not home) but at 3 am when the dog decides to scratch its self and bangs nonstop on the floor, it s not so funny. Even my 8 yr old ADHD son complains that the apartment sucks and is too noisy. The parking is OUT OF CONTROL!!!! They do not enforce their parking rules and it has caused some of the residents to have to park OUTSIDE of the complex all together do to the lack of parking. I would say I m just bitter but this happens to many residents that come home after 8pm on any given night. A cardboard box under the bypass would be a better option than this shiny turd. Do yor self and your loved ones a favor and look for a house or townhouse to rent in the area. I am moving to a much better school district to a great townhome with 500 more Sq Ft and a 1 car garage and fenced in back yard for $100 less a month. DO NOT RENT FROM ADALAY BAY!!!!!!!!!

this place is a rip off old apartments charging the same as the new ones plus whoever was the architect in designing this place was probably on drugs there's only one trash container for the whole entire apartment complex which is conveniently located 10 feet from the big children's playground that by the way is useless for kids that are not teens very unsafe for small children I wouldn't put a 10 year old on it and the smell of the trash overwhelms you when you're out trying to play with your kids they don't show that angle in the pictures though very misleading my apartment was broken into by the maintenance staff and a lot of my belongings were taken is then try to deny it and the cops prove otherwise then when the lease is up hey Jack your end up almost $200 to stay there each year which is way above inflation then when I moved out they charge me for not cleaning the carpets when the carpets were not new when we moved in and they had a carpet truck outside to redo the carpets when they were in perfectly good shape SCAM ARTISTS dog ---- in all the grass VERY RUDE STAFF

DONT MOVE HERE! Parking is cool in the daytime, but at nite its terrible!! guest parking is in horrible places. Yu wake up to leaf blowers and lawn mowers and trucks doing yard work. you wont get any peace of mind here. Maintenance SUCKS. If all your worried about is how nice the outside of your complex looks, then great move here. But if you get annoyed easily DONT DO IT

When I first moved in to the apartments, the staff was really nice. I loved them! Then, when they changed ownership to MAA, they had an almost completely new staff. The new staff members are not nice or helpful, and I did not feel comfortable with the new maintenance staff coming in to my apartment. The apartment itself was constructed with VERY cheap materials. The linoleum in the kitchen was bubbling up and all of the cabinet's laminate was coming off. I was shocked that the apartment was in this state because the property company charges luxury rent. For my tiny, cheap one bedroom apartment, they were going to charge me $1200/month if I renewed my lease - not including all of the other fees. This is a ridiculous price for the apartment that I had. I now live in a 2500 square foot house, 4 bedroom house with a large yard for $1400. Another thing is, I had a neighbor above me that I thought would fall through the floor because he made an incredible amount of noise. I had to go talk to him twice to try and get it resolved because he kept me up until 3 am sometimes (this was a huge stretch for me because I am a non-confrontational person with a live-and-let-live mentality). The office staff pretty much told me that they couldn't do anything about it. They said that they could send him a letter, but that did not change anything. I have lived in other apartments and I have never had a problem with a noisy neighbor. I think that if these apartments were constructed better, it wouldn't have been a problem. Also, the previous reviewer was correct re: the water billing. It's ridiculous as well. I was one person, using very little water, and was charged the same amount that they were. It seems like the management company is determined to get as much money from the tenants as possible. When I was moving out, the staff actually sent me a bill! I am one of the cleanest people that I know and have actually had a landlord call and thank me for taking such great care of an apartment before. I spent hours cleaning that apartment, and I had no doubt that I would get my deposit back, but these people will take your money, your deposit, and send you a bill. I really could not wait to get out of there! I hope that this will help others make a good decision about where they will live. I definitely would not advise anyone to live at Adalay Bay unless they like throwing their money away.

I lived at Adalay Bay for a year and to be honest when I was there I didn't think it was too bad. It was only when I moved to another apartment complex that I realized how bad Adalay Bay is. My water was ridiculously high $160pcm on average I now pay $50 and thats for a 4 bedroom house. There is a lack of parking anyone who states there isn't is lying. The apartments are out dated and are in need of an overhaul. The windows leak when it rains to much. Insulation is poor again my electricity bill was more when I lived at Adalay then what I pay now i'm in a house. I had no problems with the staff a little ditsy but they were never rude. Overall No I wouldn't recommend Adalay Bay unless you are only staying there for a very short drop over. There is nicer apartments in better parts of Chesapeake that are also cheaper.

The seals in all my windows are broken, The window need to be replaced. I have been sick with the flu and the phenomena since Thanksgiving, and I am not living in conducive living conditions to get over the illness. It is like sleeping in the great outdoors. Does not feel good running a fever with a breeze blowing up my pajama back. Now my doctors believe I have been exposed to black mold which is coming from the leaky windows. Talked to management last friday and they basically looked at me like I had two heads and asked if the mold could be window dust. Then acted as if I was keeping it dry and clean. Kind of hard to keep dry with the window leaks. Mold is forming inside the windows and spreading out. Also my two puppies have both gotten sick and had siezures from the landscapers not marking when they are using Round Up and other hazerdous materials. We had snow come in three days ago and they have yet to remove the ice from the sidewalk. I don't like the idea that the community is not breed sensitive as there has been a few problems with a person and another dog getting attacked. It would be wise if they could put larger dogs on first floors so it does not sound like a horse running above your head. Also they need to enforce people picking up after their dogs.

hi. i do not currently live in these apartments. me and my family are apartment hunting and decided to check these apartments out. here are the reason I WOULD NOT MOVE HERE NOR RECOMMEND ANYONE MOVING HERE. im a firm believer in "3 strikes and you're out". Strike One: when we first walked up to the leasing office door, there was a huge spider just hanging there. so as we went in as we were greetedi informed the lady that there was a spider plus spider webs hanging on the door. she just brushed it off like she didnt care. but in my opinion outside appearance is everything. Srike Two: when we sat down she showed us a paper that had prices of the apartments a d the size of the aparments. as im reveiwing this paper i am satisfied because the prices where very reasonable for the area that we were in. so she asked us what we were looking for and we told her. she looks to see what she has availbale and the quotes us prices higher than whats on the paper. so if the paper you gave me wasnt the actual prices then why did you give me the paper in the first place. Strike Three: she took us on a tour of the apartments. very nice looking i must admit. especially the ugraded ones. the older ones are not bad either. very roomy. she showed us a 2 bedroom and a 3 bedroom. once we saw the three bedroom, i was happy. as we were touring the three bedroom she opens a closet to show us the space, i so happened to look on the floor and there is a HUGE roach laying there. i asked her how often they exterminated and she said 2 twice a month but it is the tenants responsibilty to pay for it. i have children so im really picky about critters! so i would not recommend these apartments but to each is own. poorly maintained.

i dont understand any of the good reviews. they are misleading, to say the least. i have 2 months to go on my lease and i cant be happier. i signed a lease last year because i will soon be getting out of navy and didnt want to move again for a year. this place sucks and it looks ------ with dark paint. dog crap is not picked up. you can hear your neighbors when they urinate upstairs. one plus, pool is nice. thankfully the old hag ---- doesnt work here anymore but she still walks around like she owns the place.cant wait to hand them my transfer papers.

We found this place on a whim because another complex had compeletely screwed us over. We needed to move in to Adalay Bay the same day we saw the place. But, I absolutely love living here! Everyone is so friendly (even the staff!) We had a neighbor offer to help us move in the day we got here. Everyone picks up the dog areas very well. I feel absolutely safe around here as well! Stores are walking distance which is very convenient when I like to take the baby on a stroll. For military families, Tricare Prime office is right down the road as well! It takes my husband 25 minutes to get to NOB on a good day. If carriers are in port it's more like 35-45 minutes due to back up at the gate. They are well kept apartments. The only thing I was quite upset about was that one maintenance guy was quite rude when they were painting and yelled into my apartment asking if "THIS WAS THE ONE WITH THE SLEEPING BABY?" well gee, not anymore thanks! But I reported him to management because I was so mad!
