This is my first place so I love the community and everyone has been very friendly. Although there are a few things I would change about the interior of the apartment is it a very nice place to stay (I also am an interior designer at an architecture firm so I may be more critical to appearence). I do feel very safe in the area and love that there are so many things around and it is very easy to get to eveyrhting.

The Courtyards of Chanticleer has been a good place to live for the past four years. I only intended to live in an apartment for a few months, but the cost and location for a safe and convenient community helped to make my time here more appealing each year. The customer service and on-site maintenance is commendable. Other than my very friendly, but noisy neighbor upstairs and the quality/appearance of tile repair on the front roof which impact curb appeal (maintained by outside company), I have really enjoyed my stay here.

It is a family friendly, and dog friendly quiet neighborhood! It has a nice pool That has been remodeled I hope opens soon. My dog loves the dog park and meeting new friends. My daughter loves the playground, and we all love living so close to the beach!

The Courtyards of Chanticleer is very pleasing to the eye. The apartments/townhomes are perfect for single or smaller families. I love the amenities we're able to use here and the partnering community, it makes things a lot nicer and easier to be satisfied.

Here's a link of the roach infestation we were stuck with . Poor management lots of maintenance issues, we were shown a nicer apartment than what we ended up with. They replaced a window and ruined the whole frame and left it, had clothes stuck in the broken washer for over two weeks, dog poop disposal wasn't changed often.

Live here currently. Lots of things in walls. Very old but recently repainted and new carpet. Light fixture kinda pointless in living area. Laundry situation is average. No dishwasher makes things complicated in 2020. Dont mind the back patio albeit old and not frequently landscaped. Door hinge gaps in house let a lot of draft in. Thermostat will frequently read 73/74 while on heat and apartment will ice cold leaking air out of doors. Closets are just pitiful. Someone has taken tape and wrapped it around an old hanger rack and spray painted it white instead of buying a 3$ bar to put in the closet as a replacement. Most doors in house have holes in them with obvious patch jobs, again, a cheap fix but odd repair job. I do like the paint color, makes it look not so old. Spot is convenient but at around $1,100 with utilities, this place is super cheap and old. Some minor updates could go a long way in boosting value. Id pay more for rent even if the quality wasnt so poor. Staff is kind and helpful. Parking is a challenge for residents and guests alike. Most of lights on walkways and sidewalks in neighborhood are out or damaged. Dog bags will go unreplaced and letting your dog pee/poop in others yards happens often.

I dont know why I get surveys because Ive communicated to the office time and time again my dissatisfaction with the entire community. Maintenance does not complete the work but theyll submit a completed form to check it off their list. If something is completed its completed half --- and doesnt match anything else.

Last year we were dealing with a persistent issue with our townhome that could have very easily gone poorly. But the entire staff from the maintenance guys, the ladies in the office and the management all went above and beyond to help us try to fix the issue and eventually got us into an new upgraded townhome. My family is very happy with our choice to live here.

This place took us in when our last apartment complex really messed us over . The application process was very fast and efficient and I loved it . We definitely enjoy our home . Anytime we have questions or are unsure about things any of the office staff is ready to help us.

Ive lived at Chanticleer since Ive moved from Texas, great staff and maintenance. I have two big dogs and the property is extremely dog friendly which is the best part about living there. I have no complaints about Chanticleer. Would and have recommended it to many friends.

I enjoy living at Courtyards of Chanticleer. My apartment is hidden behind trees, which makes me feel safe, and the pet friendly atmosphere is rare, so I love it. The office staff is very helpful, and the maintenance team works hard. The only thing that bothers me is residents are not always diligent to clean up after their pets, and sometimes the plumbing backs up, but rarely. Over all, very satisfied and would recommend families with pets to come live here.

Courtyards of Chanticleer is a beautiful area located near a good area in Virginia Beach. The staff is super friendly and do a great job making sure that youre their number one priority. Ive only been living here for a month but I absolutely love it here! 10/10 recommend!

Its a great community as far as location but its pretty expensive for what you get. We moved in and the washer didnt work, the garbage disposal was broken and had gum,nails,caulk, and hair in it. Took me over an hour to fix it. Exhaust fan in master bathroom has broken a few times but they never want to replace it. We still dont have a screen for the front window downstairs.They did a horrible job getting the place ready. We have 2 different pattern floors downstairs and they wont replace them? The toilet downstairs has had a few backup problems so the water caused water damage to the baseboards and walls. The upstairs widow leaked in a storm and made the whole carpet and walls smell of mold for weeks. They charge $30 per dog no matter how long you live there. Its just little things like these that make it hard to pay almost $1500 a month for a really old place with no gym or extra benefits.

I truly have nothing bad to say. The community is nice the employees there are extremely help. The girls in the office are amazing I love them both. They will help you with anything. Even though the rooms are a little pricey you do have to understand that the area is amazing. The beach is a 10 minute drive and everything is close by you. I like how they also helped with transition of us becoming parents and needing extra rooms.

Nice people all around havent met anybody that are rude or mean. The grounds are well kept not really any trash anywhere landscape is amazing. There is a pool nearby that is really nice to go into when it is very hot outside.

This is really a nice community to live in. The location is perfection, its five minutes from shopping and less than ten minutes from the oceanfront. It is quiet and safe-I feel comfortable coming home or walking my trash to the dumpster late at night, Ive never been harassed or made to feel unsafe within the borders of Chanticleer. The apartment I am in was recently renovated so its quite nice and up to date. It required some pretty deep cleaning when I first moved in, but once that was completed it turned out to be the perfect little place for me. Management and maintenance are always friendly and do everything they can to resolve issues in a timely manner. I do wish there was a clubhouse/gym on site rather than having to drive to the sister community and I would love to have a washer/dryer hookup in my particular unit, but the community as a whole is quite lovely and always taking steps to improve. I wish the price was a little lower as it can be a bit expensive once pet fees/water/etc are added to the rent, but overall I really like it here and would recommend this as a great place to live. The noise from the Navy jets can get pretty loud so be aware of that if you have a noise sensitivity or pet who does not do well with sudden loud noises. It was pretty easy to get used to and I barely notice it now, but it can still get pretty loud if theyre flying low and/or the windows are open.

Everyone is absolutely wonderful. Laura in the office is always so friendly. Todd, Mike, and Jordan with maintenance are absolutely amazing! Im so glad I picked here to call home. Maintenance requests are always fixed promptly. The complex is extremely dog friendly which is a huge plus!

My wife and I completely love Courtyards of Chanticleer. After touring several complexes in the area, Chanticleer was a breath of fresh air. We knew we were moving in before we even toured the model. The neighborhood is beautiful and the staff was absolutely delightful. Chanticleer is located near tons of great shopping and specialty stores, YMCA is right across the street, close to the interstate, and close enough to the Oceanfront but not too close. Now in all honesty, you get tired of the Jet Noise, but other than that, this place is incredible.

Courtyards of Chanticler is an amazing apartment complex. The staff in the front office are alwaya friendly and there to help. They are constantly striving to enhance the appearance and remain among one of the nices complexes around. 10 out of 10 recommend.
