It's OK
We have lived here since September '06. My biggest complaints are the size of the parking spaces, our carpet is looking pretty nasty (not from us, old stains coming up), and the blinds are CHEAP, like the break easy.

The people I have delt with in the office have been great. I had one problem with Misty (I think that's her name) so I just don't deal with her. Andrea is wonderful! If something happened to her I would think about leaving.

I think the snow removal for the blizzard was OK. People have to realize it was a BLIZZARD! A lot of people were "stuck" at home, not just us.

You can hear some noises from other apartments, but this is apartment living.....

Overall, I'm okay here. It's not the best apartment we have lived in but it's OK.

Don't rent here
I've got a noisy neighbor above me that management won't do anything about, so it's a miserable place to live. I agree with the comment about the snow. I have a garage and they pushed all the snow in front of my garage so I was isolated for 4 days, when I called about it management basically said it was my problem. No effort was made after the big storm or the ones after the big one to keep the sidewalks/or breezeways to the apartments passable, it was hazardous.

The most horrible place on Earth.
This "gated" community is NEVER gated. We recently had a blizzard. In the following days, the parking lot roads were not plowed, sidewalks were not shoveled. After four days, there are still a few cars that cannot leave the complex from the snow. RESIDENTS were forced to shovel walkways, because the complex would not. An individual who had been living here since they opened offered to help clear the roads and help residents out of their parking spaces was KICKED OUT OF THE OFFICE and told NOT to help anyone out. Numerous residents have requested the phone number for the company that owns the complex, one of which was LAUGHED AT. The houses are not insulated well, I have my thermostat turned up to 85 at night and still wake up cold. During the summer, the pool was warmer than the "hot tub". Even after "repairing" it, I wouldn't call it anything more than a "luke warm tub". Their "heated" pool is always freezing, too cold for me to take my son into it, even too cold for me to go in it myself! They never perform requested maintenance. Speaking with the management is like pulling teeth. They refuse to take any of these issues to heart. When we complained about the snow, they responded that it was not their obligation. Apparently it is the obligation of elderly women and children who are forced to dig their way from their houses to their cars in freezing weather.

Nightmare
I was faithful to this community for 3 years, only to have my rent increased every year and to be treated poorly by the office staff, which by the way changes people every month. I never knew the person I was talking to it was so bad. After complaining about what appeared to be a leak in my laundary room off the kitchen I was completely ignored and told that it was nothing, by the time the downstair's person complained that water was leaking through her ceiling my kitchen floor was total ruined, the tiles were bubbling and sinking in places. They came in a put a huge hole in my wall to fix the NON-excistant leak, needless to say the never fixed the whole in the wall after requests for 6 months that they fix it. Then after fixing the tiling in my kitchen they left the tile glue on my floor and told me the would be back in 24 hours to clean it off and then I could walk on it... ohhhh well go and behold that they never freaking came back to take the glew off the floor, after two days I request that they do it where I could use my kitchen and laundary room and was told they had more important things to deal with... well I'm sorry that I'm not that important, I lived with tile glue on my floor for a week and a half.. needless to say when i went in and asked if they would clean the glue out of the carpet since I had to use my kitchen no one can go a week without eating, a guy in the office said that he would send someone to do it... well no one ever came, so I had glue in my carpet, which they tried to charge me for when I moved out.... NOT MY FAULT!! Another thing that upset me was that I had comcast when I was in this apartment complex and will never get it again, the maintance people that were not suppose to be in my apartment after 6pm came in at 8pm one night when I wasn't at home (I know because they left a slip with what time they were in my apartment though the complex said that it wasn't true) and found that over 300 dollars in porn had be charged to my pay perview account from the box itself which can only be done in the appartment... needless to say I ended up paying that since comcast would not remove the charges and the appartment complex wouldn't take responsablity for their employees... I wouldn't recommend this proper for many reason but these two are the main ones if you can't trust the people you are paying to maintain the building your in then what are you paying for?

I wouldn't move in
The apartments seem very nice when you move in, that is true. The landscaping seems to be very nice and the lake is wonderful. When you are first shown an apartment here, they seem spacious, and nicely done.

Well I lived there for over a year, and by the end, there were too many things going wrong. Leaking sinks, walls are too thin you can hear other people's front doors closing, you can hear every movement from upstairs, and you can hear the next door neighbors tv's/stereo's as if they are just in the next room, not the next apartment.

Their staff are very unfriendly and aren't helpful at all. They don't give you the 24 hr's notice that someone will be stoping by as stated in your lease, they are uncooperative when you try to explain yourself or the situation at hand. There were times where there needed to be multiple phone calls made just to get an expert out to the house to fix something. I personally have had multiple problems with not getting enough notice that something major was going to be taking place the next day, or I didn't get a notice at all.

The parking isn't all that great either. The spaces are small and so close together you feel like you are parking in a sardine can instead of a parking lot.

The security is really lacking. This is a "gated community" but the gates are NEVER closed. Even at night there is always one set of gates open. I came home late one night and there were police officers crawling all over the apartment complex, and the person they were after was right across the way from me, makes you wonder who the heck they are letting in there doesn't it? There was also a time very early in the morning where there were gun shots right out side my window.

Their "playground" is non-existant. You get a little play set and 2 swings. The area is surrounded by a grassy area, but be warned don't let your kids play in it, it's covered in dog poop.

Worst place to live over all.

Heads up their Asses
My boyfriend first found this place and had a very nice experience....However, they kept coming up with one thing after another. We were both relocating from out of state and they were not very accomidating to this. They even changed our apartment on us. After much time and phone calls they agreed to mail the lease to me. All 45 pages. I needed to get it all notorized, each page since they didn't have a notary form. This took a very long time. I then paid alot of money to priority mail back the lease.
After they received the lease, which my boyfriend had to pick up from the corporate office because nobody on staff had a car to go get it, they informed us that they forgot to send several pages. Mainly the privacy rights of the tenant. Why they couldn't wait until we got there was beyond me. Dealing with Judi and these people in the office was an enormous headache!
After I was able to find a fax machine and sign and fax back the remaining documents they told my boyfriend that he would need to return the next day since they needed to type it up.
When my boyfriend returned the next day he was informed that I (after they already received my pay stubs and knew I was relocating) was now unemployed since I would be relocating. They made an additional demand that my boyfriend would have to have a letter from his employer, on company paper, that he made the required amounts.
We both got fed up with this neverending process. Neither of us can figure out if Lakecrest simply didn't want us to live there or if they could care less about running a business.
We asked for our papers back and the deposit and my boyfriend was given the wrong deposit back for the same apt (i.e. it was already being marketed for somebody else)!

The next day we got a call from Lakecrest saying that if we could prove good rental history, we could still move in. Keep in mind we already passed a credit check, criminal background, provided proof of income, and off the record are very educated (masters level), yet we still weren't "Lakecrest" material.

These people kept changing what they said and making additional demands. First yes, then no, then one more thing, then postively no, then we (lakecrest) screwed up and you were actually approved the whole time... what was Lakecrest thinking? What was Pauls Corporation thinking? We believe the problem not only lies with Lakecrest, but upper management of the Pauls Corporation. Our only regret, we don't get our app fees and overnight fee back. Please heed our advice and learn from our experience. They suck!!!

We love it
We have lived at Lakecrest for about 10 months now and we love it! It is aesthetically pleasing and quiet when you come home from a long day at work. I love the free movies and cookies and the office and maintenace staff are really great. Judi is always really helpful and helped us a lot when we moved and we are really glad Andrea is back!

I live in Apt. 1524 and I can't wait to get out......!!!!
Hi, my name is Jose and I live currently in apartment 1524 at the Lakecrest apartments. I moved in here in January of 2006 and it was hell even before I moved in. The staff have no clue of what they are doing. First, they gave us the wrong price for the first month. We had to tell them they were wrong..... Sencond of all, they never kept in touch with us.
Judy actually was very rude, and nasty to us when all we were doing was just asking simple questions about the approval of our apartment. She also hanged up the phone on us too. She has a bad attitude and have no customer skills at all.
On March the 1st, I went to the office and make a formal complaint about the laundy room being dirty, and disgusting. It looked like the maintnance guy don't take care of the place. Well, when I walked into the office, Judy was there and I told her about the problem. ........( just to let you readers know, I had previously complaint about the laundry room to Judy before and she told me she would take care of it)............Well, as for Judy's answer was.." OH, I toltally spaced it out"... This made me think she didn't care at all. She raised her voice towards me and gae me attitude and also gave me the hand and told me"have a good day"... as if she wanted to get rid of mr.
I tell you, this Judy needs to go, because I will not stop until something is done about it.
I will attent to collect signatures from residents that agree with me and will take it to Property Owner, or whom ever it needs to go.
As a resident of Lakecrest, I have the right to be treated like one. I have never disrespected anyone from the office at all. I'm very profesional and will expect the same from Lakecrest Staff.
Please call me at (720)217-5291 , my name is Jose Mendez.
If Lakecrest apartment staff cares, they will do something for us, your tenants.Thank you

This place sucks!
This is one of the worst places I have lived. The ladys in the office are very rude and only look at things from a corporate view instead of a human view. They really do not know how to do anything except get packages for us in the mail room. This place does not help anyone out even if it benefits the complex. This place has turned into a ------ over the past year. Shady people walking around all of the time, kids unsupervised in the pool area, people driving way too fast, arrests, and domestic disputs in the stairways to name a few. It doesn't matter how often you wash your car, because all of the goose ---- will get on your car. There are termites and vermin in many of the apartments in this complex. Beware before you lease this place.

A nice place with an uncertain future
I lived at Lakecrest for a little over a year. When I first moved in, I was very impressed. The lake is gorgeous, and the apartments have a nice plan. Maintenance did a great job. I felt bad having to summon them so much, though. There were a lot of small cheap construction corners that were cut in the building, so there were a lot of small problems: leaking caulk in sink, piece of cabinetry fell off (only glued on), part of the plastic hinges on the kitchen cabinets snapped off on virtually every cabinet, etc. I removed the blinds immediately - I saw they were flimsy - then just rehung upon leaving. The insulation for noise was excellent. We lived in a family-filled apt. and it was quiet unless kids were playing outside my window. Office staff is half and half. The main manager is nice and two staff members in particular are outstanding. The other two were offish and rude sometimes, but I found that things got resolved in a very satisfactory manner despite initial aggrevation. I was grateful to have a garage. Kids do tend to play on the cars in certain areas of the complex. Now the outside: The grounds are beautiful. The lake is splendid. Dog feces are too plentiful. I like to walk and I have small kids. The residents do NOT take care of dog leftovers appropriately on the whole. All in all I enjoyed the grounds a lot despite the dogs. The main concern is the newer residents. Upon arrival, the Freng CARES team was excellent and set a nice family-oriented tone. They have a new CARES team, but I do not know them. I think they are one crucial aspect to fix the problem that is starting to occur. A few of the residents who moved in just prior to my leaving were causing problems. Loud inappropriate conversations in public areas, glass containers and food IN the pool/hot tub, too little supervision of out-of-control children, vandalism to playground, soccor nets, etc. The tone has changed. Lots of the nice people who were planning to stay are leaving. I think the annoying residents are few in number, but they seem more common just because they are so flamboyant. I hope things can turn around so it doesn't lose its appeal. It's such a pretty place it would be a shame to see it deteriorate. We did not move because of the tone change, we moved because we have a house now. I would have renewed for 2005, but I'm not sure about 2006. I would have retained an open mind, but kept my eye out for the neighborhood. I don't know what can be done to discourage the bad behavior of certain residents, but something needs to happen. I think if there was a community standards clause where repeated complaints led to eviction, and it was strictly enforced, it could improve. I sincerely wish the best for its future...

------, they'll let ANYBODY in; lowered standards
We have lived here for over 2 years. We are moving out due to multiple incidents regarding resident's behavior. The pool area is totally unsupervised, any passerby can get in and trash the place, have loud music, drinking excessive alcohol and foul language. Not a family environment anymore. Poor security standards; "gated community" but the gates are ALWAYS open to anybody to come in and disrupt a once peaceful environment. People get arrested here, among other reasons for child neglect. Gunpoint robberies, vandalism in the facilities which forced management to reduce the use of such facilities to business hours only. Management unfairly ruled out any kind of grills, even the gas ones that were allowed before a near fire incident. BAD PLACE to live in with you family and small children. Playground is surrounded by dog feces. Neighbors leave trash bags on hallways. Etc, etc. The list could go on forever. DON'T MOVE IN. Customer service from lease consultants and managers has significantly demenished. Only good thing about this complex was the former CARES team ran by the Freng's whom recently moved out themselves. Summary: A good place gone bad!!!

Not somewhere that I would recommend
Staff is rude, and have no clue about anything. The apartments are cheaply made. I do like the layout and design, but that's about it. The parking is ridiculous. I am constantly seeing cops at the complex. It was really nice when I moved in, but soon after living here me and my husband realized it was ------.

I Agree...Don't Move In!
The women in the office are very rude. I have had a couple of problems with my apartment. I have called the office many times and the problems are still not fixed. Judy in the office is not helpful at all, I have actually paid out of my own pocket to fix some of the problems. That Judy promised that maintenance would fix. My lease is up in 2 months and I can not wait to move!

Better than expected.
I actually am surprised to read the previous reviews that are negative. I have lived here for almost 8 months now and I have never had a problem with this place. The only minor problem I have is with my neighbors music, but I also understand that the walls and floors are obviously made thin. I also listen to music so I can't be too upset. I feel that it is a good community that seperates itself from the surroundings, (montbello, aurora, etc.) When I come home I feel like I live in a very nice place, that seems to be expensive but in reality it is very resonably priced. The Lakecrest community is very involved with it's tenants and does a very good job of keeping us informed of activities and programs. Although I do not have children, I for once, actually considered some of the activities they offer. (They aren't bad at all) I have not had any problems with maitenence nor have I had any problems even occur in my apartment. Everything works fine, and I enjoy this place very much. I have only lived in Denver for two years but for the price I pay I think 5-points is more expensive. When I introduce my friends and family to my apartment they can't believe I live in such a nice place. And I couldn't agree more. I would recommend this place to anyone. By the way, I just got done reading the reviews on my old place that I lived and I think Lakecrest's %67 is a lot better than my old place with 9%. I plan on signing another lease in June 2005.

I have lived here for over a year and I think this place is great! The grounds are beautiful, except when residents don't clean up after their pets, but the staff seems to try to keep up with that issue.

The pool is lovely. Its big and has a great view of the lake and mountains.

The office staff is very polite and also very helpful.

Overall I believe Lakecrest is a great place to live.

Don't be fooled!
I live a very clean life and I had mice tons of them. I contacted the office and the problem persisted. I still have mice, and they were initially reported in May and then on every occurace they were spotted, which was often. Someone just got held up at gun point in the building next to me. I lived there for 16 months and had to renew my lease Not by choice, (military) and they raised the rent over 60.00 a month. The people at the office are snotty to deal with and have no customer service. When I moved in I had recommended this establishment to many individuals who are now tenants, big mistake, we are all moving.

Could be worse...
We like the size and layout of our apt., and I love all the birds in the lake, etc. Not real excited about hearing the roar of I-70 all night long. Maintenance is really into quick fixes, i.e., forcing a valve on the water heater closed by wedging a battery instead of fixing the actual problem, screwing in the kickboard under the cabinet instead of redoing the adhesive. They got a new maintenace manager recently; hopefully that will help with the jury-rigging. Generally poor construction indicates that while they look nice now, in a few years they will just be assimilated into the Montbello culture and nice apartments east of Denver will be on the other side of E-470.
