Do your homework!
We live here and have a few months left before we boogie. The office folks are really nice but they gotta do what the property owners say. The apt's are ok. Lots of trashy folks here in my opinion but most in our area keep to themselves. The gates are a joke. I see cars waiting outside for someone to leave so they can go thru. I even see people waiting by the gate in the morning waitng for someone to come out. It's the same when you come in. The maint. folks are decent. Check around you can get more bang for your buck! We will. Thanks

So far, ok apartments
I've lived in Stonebridge for almost 6 months now and I am fairly satisfied. The apartment is very big and I like the floor plan alot. The only problems I have had is the occasional ant trails in the bathrooms, which I didnt really understand why they were in the bathroom and the loud neighbors with the music coming from their cars.

Nasty Roaches and Ants
If you like roaches and ants this is the apartment complex of your dreams. I have lived all over even in some horrible places. Ive lived in New York City, Chicago Miami, London. I have never seen an apartment where a sea of ants (and im not exagerating) a sea of ants all comensurate in the bath tub on a daily basis (nice surprise in the morning.) Even in the winter. I have had so many other residents say the same thing. Even the Tons of FUN leasing office people addmit it. Also we cant forget the Nasty roaches even if you pull everything out scrub with clorox don t even cook in their kitchen still roaches. As for their pest control people I believe they spray water because they DONT WORK. The water pressure makes me feel as if I am living in some horrible part of Uzbekistan ( no offense to anyone) The undesirable crowd that lives there lets just say leave a lot to be desired as well. Its nasty project tenament feel isnt worth $15 a month. If you read this and still move in there you are really dumb and get what you deserve, because I am not exagerating I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. Oh yeah and that person who said they love it here at stonebridge roach and ant motel how much do you want to bet they are on the stonebridge payroll.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE
Desipte the renvation, the apartments are very old and falling to pieces. The managment seemed warm and friendly before we signed our lease, but after we moved in the managment showed their ture color of cold rudness. The calibre of neighbors was poor and very ethnic. THe plumbing inside the apartment was not up-to-speed, which refelcted our water bill. Overall it was a horrible experience and I would not recommend stay their, unless you are on your last leg financial and love kids and loud noise

Worst apartment I ever lived in!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes the apartments are cheap but they couldn't possibly charge you anything more to live in the ------. Apartments are very old and not taken care of. Buildings are falling apart and infested with roaches, ants, and rats. Beside the fact that you can never find a parking spot, when you do beware, my car was broken into right in front of my apartment. The office dosen't offer you any help with problems like these, after all they hear about it everyday. You can give them a copy of the police report if you like so they can post it in the "Crime Bulletin". People are mugged in the parking lot and apartments are broken into. Drug dealers can be found walking the streets at all times of the day. The gas station in front of the apartments is a local hangout for gangsters. Apartments on the bottom level flood in rain storms. The maintenance staff is ok but they hardly ever completely fix things, The girls who work in the office are incompetent and somehow blind to their surroundings. Trash is never properly disposed of and on the weekends it can be seen forming mountains all the way to the mailboxes. Water pressure is super low and it takes about a half hour to fill your washing machine with hot water. Traffic on Roswell road is horrible. Its backed up at just about all times of the day and sometimes takes me 15 minutes to go less than half a mile. There are always accidents and you must be careful not to hit any of the people hanging out on the streets waiting for work. Security dosen't exist here the gates keep the residents out more than anyone else, they are always broken, as well as the piece of junk gate openers from the office. I am moving out of Stonebridge as soon as my lease ends, this has been a horrible and frightening experience for me. To anyone thinking of moving here DO NOT!!!!!!!!!!

I never lived here, but...
Yes, I never lived here but I did consider it. I toured the property and the staff seemed nice (as most management staff is to a potential resident). What swayed me away from this property was 1.) all of the day laborers who hang out at the gas stations and other businesses right across the street from the complex each morning/afternoon. I just could not get used to that sight each morning. The second thing was a strong recommendation from another leasing agent within the same management company against that move, siting numerous problems with that location.

Remember I HAVE NEVER LIVED THERE, but these are the reasons why. I ended up renting at a complex that is right down the street on the other side of 285 and run by the same management company. That experience sucked as well, and I have written a review for it. And as I look at the reviews for these complexes I think it's amazing that this same management company has ratings in the high 60s and 70s when my experience with them was about a 30! I wonder if they don't enter their own reviews.

Happy Here
I just want to say to the Stonebridge office gals that I dig my new place. I couldn't be happier with the location that you chose for me and things are going great! I also want to give a shout out to the Stonebridge maintenance crew. I've only had one problem, and it was taken care of quite promptly! I have to say that I've recommended Stonebridge to several of my friends and co-workers. Thanks again for making my transition to Atlanta a smooth one, and I look forward to another great year here!

great find
we moved in about 3 weeks ago and so far have had nothing but great experiences with our apartment and the stonebridge staff. The ladies who work up at the leasing office are a a firendly group and extremely helpful. Anytime we have had a problem it has been taken care of that day, usually within a few hours of notifying them.
The aparmtent itself is fabulous. Spacious floor plan, washer dryer, dishwasher... all the things you could want.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! END OF STORY!!!!
My husband, 2 year old daughter and myself moved to Atlanta recently from across the country. We heard about Stonebridge over the internet, let's just say that the pictures are deceiving! My husband had to move our entire household by himself, and he let me know upon arriving that the neighborhood is Really shady, and he didn't know if he wanted to live there, so he took a look around the apartment and thought we would give it a shot, for the price sake. With in 3 days of unpacking all of our things there were a trail of ants in the closets, then they later spread to all over the bedrooms.
On the 4th night, we as a familey decided to watch a movie, I'll never forget it was "Mystic River". We got up after the movie ended to turn the light on and there running across the floor (as my husband called it) was a "cockroach on steriods". We were furious as expected, but not quite ready to pack up yet. Then as we went into the kitchen to find something to kill it with, there was a 12 inch RAT, and I am not exaggerating! I stayed awake all night until I could no longer keep my eyes open, fearing the Rat would crawl in my childs crib and snuggle with her.
This was the most Disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life. I can't beleive there are people who continue to live there. Especially people with chidren, I think I would turn to Prostition for extra money before letting my child sleep another night there.
The one redeeming thing I can say was that manager let us out of our lease and refunded some of the money back, after my husband threatened to call Health Services.
Please if you are reading this know that I would waste my time on writing this if I did want even my worst enemy to go through the HELL my family went through with this expereince.
Although I know everything happens for a reason, I am so happy about Everything in our new apartment (Gables Metropolitan) it is $300 more a month, but worth every penny!!!!

The apartment it self is nice, but the community has really gone down! I didn't have a rat problem but I had a violence problem. For the price you could find something better!

Great Location - Huge Apartments
I just moved to atlanta a few months ago and I really like it here! Its the biggest one bedroom I could find. I have met alot of cool people at the pool and social events. The people in the office have been great - helping me with finding the mall, restaurants etc...being new to the area, its very convenient to find everything you need.

Im really surprized that some of the other comments are bad. I hope that my experience at Stonebridge contines to be as awesome as is started.

Crappy...and cheap
If you are looking for a less expensive place to live- Stonebridge has large floorplans for the money. If you are looking for a nice place to live- keep lookin'.

When I needed to move in it was in a hurry and Stonebridge was the most cost effective option that was suggested. I didn't understand that along with the low cost was going to come rats, ants, salamanders and more bugs than I can name. If I wanted a pet, I'd buy one.

The glass door to the patio that overlooks beautiful I-285 was broken into. Took three trips from the maintainence team to replace, clean up and then finally fix the lock over a three week timespan.

I didn't mind the low rent neighbors, that gal smoking weed while cleaning her car at the carport, traffic on Roswell Rd, kids riding their bikes around the parking lot like they are blind and parentless or checking out the neighbors trash...I did mind the attitude I was shown when trying to get rodents out of my living space.

To prove the issue at hand I 'captured' one of the beasts! It was a mild mannered salamander we called Sammy and despite the fact that Sammy would never be able to do us any harm I didn't feel he should be able to come in a out as he pleased. When shown the lizard I was asked, "What do you want me to do with that?!" Good question I said to the frightened leasing agent. If you are scared when I bring it by in a box...how would you feel waking up to him crawling around your bedroom at night?

Pleasant Experience
Have only lived here for 6 months so far, but it has been pretty good. This complex is adjacent to the freeway, so be prepared for the odd tractor-trailer horn at 2AM (unless you live on the other side of the complex! <wink>)

The appearance of the complex is nice, and there are some coveys to walk through if you enjoy brief afternoon saunters. Nothing spectacular, just something to do if you don´t feel like driving anywhere.

The pool and tennis courts are both clean and well-kept, however, the garbage bins tend to get overfull on the weekends, which is most unattractive. This problem generally seems to resolve itself by Monday, as the groundskeepers work very hard to keep this place looking neat.

The complex itself is gated and generally quiet, but it´s also a ´pet-friendly community´ so watch your step.

Interesting item of note: Continental Breakfast (bagels, juices, granola bars, etc.) during weekdays starting at 7:30a.

Good maintenance, nice floorplan
I have lived at Stonebridge for a couple of months and have been very happy. Maintenance is good, quick turnaround, and the office staff is nice. They help out as much as they can. The prices are good for the size of apartment you get. The location is great because you are close to most everything in Atlanta. My lease isn´t up for a while, but I plan on staying.

Drugs, Gunshots & Domestic Violence
Is sitting on the sidewalk rolling a blunt proper etiquette? At Stonebridge it is.

I moved into Atlanta not familiar with the area, and I experienced things in one week that I haven´t been subjected to in all my life.

I think I got a live episode of COPS, right outside my doorstep....minus the cops. My first week consisted of witnessing a high level of drug activity- selling, using, rolling, smoking, and all other methods apply. I thought Smokey lived upstairs.

Then about 4-5 gunshots rang out in the middle of the night. I quickly got "stop drop and roll" techniques down pat....except for dodging bullets and not fire.

The string of ants in the apt was normal activity.

How about domestic violence? Want to beat your girl, move to Stonebridge, everyone is too damn scared to call the cops.

Have you ever felt scared enough to have to walk to your car with a gun for protection from your own neighbors?

Need a blunt? Just step outside, the dude is rolling one for you on the sidewalk. OR you can just stop the dude walking through the neighborhood back and forth to the store at least 5 times a day and he will gladly supply you. Dude is light skinned, has corn rolls or an ---- if not braided down.....and usually has a leather jacket thrown over his bag he has his "stock" in. YES.....that guy. And don´t worry, if you miss him in the neighborhood you can always catch him at the corner store or walking by the alleged narcotics officers apt.

Have you noticed the sign outside the security (and I use that term lightly) gate, that reads "Brand New Luxury Apartments?" Somebody call me when they decide to build those, because they are definitely not behind those gates. They might be referring to the condos that no one lives in that is in front of the apt complex.

Lastly, the staff is friendly but ditsy. Playing stupid does not work with smart people. Get a damn clue. You are in the ------, you are the ------, welcome to Stonebridge.

Pretty Good
So far my experience at Stonebridge (7 mos) has been for the most part pleasant. I think the complex does as well as it can given its circumstances. THe area is sketchy and some of the residents are sketchy, but the grounds are very clean and the staff has been nothing but helpful, responsive, and cheerful. I think what might account for the differnces in these reviews are the units people live in. The exterior of the northern apartments and the southern apartments are noticibly different, the south side ones look older and crappier- so those may be the ones with the bug and rat problems described. I live on the North Side and my apartments interior is VERY nice and spacious and everyone is surprised about my relatively cheap rent. I have had a few ant problems but its nothing that a quick spray of raid didn´t stop. Many of the residents seem pretty "low rent" as well, but I haven´t personally had any problems with them. On the other side of the barbed wire fence there is some big mexican ------ but I haven´t had any problems with them either, I almost feel safer with them there because they are always out on their deck so if something were to happen to me in my parking lot, there would be witnesses. Roswell road can be annoyingly backed up at random times, but its good and quick access to 285.

very surprised
I´m very surprised about the negative comments on this site! I´ve lived at Stonebridge for 2 years, and I intend to renew my lease again. This apartment complex has the friendliest employees, and the maintenance guys have always responded promptly to any maintenance requests I have submitted. The lawns are always clean, and I´m very proud to live here! I have referred several friends to live at Stonebridge, and I will continue to do so.

A very pleasant place to live!
I just moved out of Stonebridge after 2 1/2 very good years. It´s a shame to see these negative reviews on this site, beacase I can only say good things about the complex, the office staff and the maintenance staff. Michelle in the office was the one that leased me the apartment in 2001, and every good thing that she told me about the aprtment was indeed true. My apartment was beautiful when I moved in (much bigger and better than many others in the area). Everyone in the office was always very helpful (especially Michelle). If I ever had a maintenance problem, it was addressed immediately. The maintenance guys were always very professional and courteous. The grounds were always kept clean, despite some of the messy neighbors that had no respect for others and threw their trash wherever they wanted!
Yes - it´s true that the area around the complex isn´t the best, but this IS Atlanta! I can´t imagine that there is anyplace in town that is absolutely perfect and crime free. Stonebridge is a very nice place to live and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone I know.

Avoid like the plague of rats living in your kitchen...
This was my first apartment out of college. It was really close to work and convenient to everything. While it is in an awful neighborhood, the complex itself is actually pretty nice and secure since its off Roswell Rd. a bit. The 2 bedroom floor plan was great for my roommate and I. Additionally, the tennis court was great, and the pool is famous for the attractive people that hang out there on weekends. When I originally signed up, the office staff were nice and easy to deal with.

The problems came in many areas:

Twice there were horrible ant infestations (we´re talking trails of ants through the entire apartment. probably hundreds of ants). Despite requests to the office, they were handled with lots of bug spray. The cause was a neighbor leaving their garbage outside. We notified the office of that, and they did nothing about it. They informed us that the ants were after "water" because it was summer. They promised to send an extermintaor and never did.

The neighborhood is awful. While my car was never broken into, many were. The apartment complex is simply in a very bad area. The gas station on the corner had cops there for one problem or another almost every night. Its been shutdown and reopened many times.

When a bathroom started to have a plumbing problem, I called the emergency maintenance number. The crack maintenance team answered and said they would check in the morning. We told them the water was starting to get pretty bad, but they ignored the warning. The next morning, we awoke to 3 apartment buildings having flooded bottom floors (including ours). They did not replace the carpet (just the padding), and offered no discount that month for the inconvenience.

Like someone else mentioned, the walls are paper thin. You hear EVERYTHING. The person above us was a single female of average size, but it sounded like she weighed 500 lbs when she was walking around.

The rats problem is real and has been confirmed by someone else I knew that lived there. Again, the office was no help, so we had to take matters into our own hands with an air rifle.

In one bathroom, a pipe fell through the celing into the tub. The office tried to repair it 3 times. Each time, the paint bubbled, buckled, and eventually the pipe was back inside the room where it did not belong. Needing a helmet to use a bathtub is not a good thing.

There are better apartments in the area for similar prices. Shop around, and you´ll be pleasantly surprised.

Condensation & Lies
As a consumer when I am treated rudely I rarely make a fuss, simply because it is usually not worth my time and effort. Rather, I choose to take my money and business elsewhere. In this instance the treatment was so outrageous that I could not sit by without comment. Recently, my husband and I were seeking residence at Stonebridge because of their proximity to Buckhead and their no weight/size pet requirements. We have two rescued Great Danes that are approximately 100 lbs. each. Great Danes are not an aggressive breed and for about 99% of the day are big mellow couch potatoes. After calling and going in to view the property with a sales consultant, we were told that our application could not be processed/approved without a managerial interview with our dogs. This was fine and understandable with us and we brought our dogs in to be interviewed by property management. While the manager was unavailable the assistant manager was on hand to meet and observe the dogs while questioning us as responsible pet owners. The interview took place in the front of the leasing office and lasted for 20 to 30 minutes. Frankly, I was insulted by her overall treatment of us, while I do not expect everyone to love animals as I do, I expect courteous behavior and less ignorance from a place that supposedly welcomes pets. Her overall attitude was condescending and unwelcoming. The assistant manager asked us if it were quote "cruel to keep to big dogs indoors in a small two bedroom apartment." Mind you this is Stonebridge´s largest two bedroom apartment floor plan at 1330 square feet. After the interview was completed, we were told that she would consult with the manager about our interview and contact us soon with their decision. The following day we were called and informed that the leasing office would lease to us contingent on a reference letter from our current landlord of 4.5 years that we were good tenets and that the dogs had not damaged our existing residence. Also, they would only offer us a 6 month probationary lease to be renewed upon apartment inspection. While we were more than happy to comply with the reference requirement, I thought it was outrageous that they would require an inspection to renew a 6 month lease. I did not want to live in an environment that was represented in such a manner. On the other hand my husband wanted to give them a second chance thinking that the assistant manager was not representative of the apartment complex. That same day he went to the leasing office and spoke to another leasing agent. Afterwards he asked that our application fee and deposit checks be returned to us. Upon his request the leasing agent returned the deposit check but not the $100 application fee. When he questioned the agent about this, she responded that she had run the credit checks and we had been approved and that our application fee had been “sent to the bank and deposited.” We did not approve this action and he asked that she refund the application fee immediately. She responded that she could not make out a check due to some sort of processing and when he suggested that he issue a stop payment on the check, she called for the assistant manager. When the assistant manager arrived on scene, she wanted to know why we had changed our minds about living there. After a short explanation, she then went to the back office and returned our original check that had been “deposited”. When he confronted the assistant manager about this she brushed it aside as though the leasing agent had not been evasive and LIED directly to him but that the check had been “logged” into their accounts. The management is awful better to avoid it all together even if your desperate, go elsewhere.

Not Bad...especially for the neighborhood
These apartments are very convenient...on Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs, literally about 200 feet from the I-285 freeway. This neighborhood is, shall we say, a Third World area, but this complex is better than most of the complexes around it. It´s not Park Avenue, by any means, but it is decent.
Horrible, Scary, with Rats!
I have lived here for 2 years, and the first year it seemed pretty good. Management is nice, maintenance was prompt, although never fixed things right the first time around. Apartments are large for the cost, but THERE ARE MANY PROBLEMS!!!! BEWARE!
1. In the 2bed/2bath, bedrooms are on top of each other and walls are paper thin, so you not only hear EVERYTHING your roommate is doing and saying, but also the neighbors as well.
2. High crime-vandalism to vehicles, stolen vehicles, and armed robberies from 3:00 in the afternoon to all hours of the night. Granted, management tells you about it instead of hiding it, but I now fear my safety to the point that I don´t walk in the parking lot after dark unless I am with someone or on the phone with someone.
The gate is a joke, broken probably 60% of the time, and 5 cars get through before it closes anyway. There are driveways that people sit and wait at to enter when someone else either comes or goes.
3. RATS, MICE, RODENTS-THEY WILL BE YOUR ROOMMATES!!! The buildings are built horrible, with walls behind the cabinets that do not reach the floor so that critters come in and eat your food, poop all over the floor, and eat through tupperware to get to food. They actually ate my mop to make a nest. Management ignored the problem so I had to call the health department to let me out of my lease.
4. Traffic on Roswell stinks. You can hear the noises from I-285 some places.
I am about to move because of the rodent problem, and am glad to walk away from this place. Carefully read the other reviews, and DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!

I bet you´ll like it
I have lived in 6 apartments in the last five years and dreaded going to the office with a problem knowing somehow it would be my fault. But here everything seems a bit more personable. Especially Christina.
Sure security is lacking but its an apartment complex. If one wants to get in they will. Regardless of the gates. Its a great location with huge apartments at affordable rates. I have heard of stolen cars, but honestly, if you drive high priced cars, what are you doing renting? Just live here. Noise is nil. Windows are large. and there´s two doors.
