New company policy: screw everyone that moves out
DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! I lived here for 2 1/2 years and things were great until today. I got a bill in the mail telling me that my perfectly clean carpet had to be replaced and that I lost all of my deposit and now I owe them a crap ton of money for replacing the carpet. I was also charged for cleaning, when I left the apartment so spotless that you could eat off the floor. I was also charged for painting and the cost of paint, which is something that has to be done by law when a resident moves out anyway. This is total --------. If you do live here, make sure to change your air filters monthly, because they say they will, and then don't, then when you move out you're charged for their mistake. Do not recommend any of the sister properties or this one to any of your friends and family. I made the mistake of doing that, and now I know that I've screwed them out of money in the future.

BEWARE!!!!
We loved living here it was moving out that was the pain. Get everything in writing and trust no one. When we moved in the apartment and the carpets stunk. The previous owners let their dogs pee everywhere. We turned in our apartment status sheets without stating the carpet because a. it was obvious to everyone and b. they said they would take care of it. After three steam cleanings, the manager replaced only the living room carpet and refused to replace the rest. We had to live with stinky carpet. IT wasn t too bad unless you were sitting on the floor and then it was unbearable. When we moved out guess what happened. They charged us to replace ALL the carpet. We lost all our deposit, pet deposit, and had to pay them money!! It cost us almost $700. For that much money, I would have liked to live on the carpet while I was there. A COMPLAINT WAS MADE TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND THEY NEVER RESPONDED. CHECK OUT THE BBB WEBSITE TO VERIFY MY CLAIMES. It looks like a nice place to live, but it is smoke and mirrors. The staff is HORRIBLE the apartments are CHEAPLY MADE .and overall it is a DUMP. Ironically you can see and smell the dump from the place.

Just got here and ready to pack it up
Although I am new to the apts. I will say that it did not take me long to realize that things were less than perfect. I could tell immediatly that the construction was less than ideal and the apts. are only 3 years old I was told. The office personell always seems to be gathered around a table talking about the night befores events or what they are doing this weekend.I thought I was Casper the ghost until my girlfriend assured she could see me.As for the manager her favorite phrase is "Well that the way corporate has it set up".Well go to bat for your tenants and call corporate and dispute some of there ways.Grow some "balls" and quit being a yes man all the time. As for the golf view I paid extra for that great view of a hill in front of my place. I would rather have saved the 30 dollars and stared at the Toyato Land Cruiser in the parking lot.To wrap it up you can put new paint on an old car and make it look good for a while but eventually the thing will begin to unravel.

new opinion
i'm the one who wrote "fresh opinion" previously. after i looked at other apartments to move to, and i read their comments, i realised that my place at the timber links must be even better than all these high rated ones. really, the mis-happens we had at the timber links is minor compared to the conveniences we had: a big and every-time-clean swimming pool, the gym room very spacious and all equipment new...really, maybe if we are looking for THAT PERFECT PLACE, we might as well buy our own place. timber links is a good place to live. (i'm not an employee, i'm a resident for 2 years there now...so u don't have doubts.)

Pretty Good
Out of the other 2 apartments I have lived in here in Denton, this is by far the best. Pros: location: secluded with fast routes to 35 and the Loop. rent: very cheap pool: huge, clean management: very friendly. i called in a noise complaint at midnight and someone actually got up and made the people shut up. they actually care here. workers: all problems were fixed in a very timely manner. They have a harder time getting requests done during the summer move in months which is understandable. Grounds: very clean at all times washer and dryer in unit Cons: noise: very thin walls and ceilings. I can hear the people above me using the restroom, talking...its pretty bad. BUGS: HUGE SPIDERS IN YOUR BED. The smell from the dump is rather bad when the wind blows certain ways... Overall I have really enjoyed my experience here. I am only moving because I want a pet and pet apartments are very hard to get into here.

Life at the Links
I actually lived and worked at the timber links, so I think I have a view not many can have. My experience living here was ok. yes the view was nice, but that fades when the wind changes and you can smell the city dump that is not far away. The apartments are cheaply made and not one has an oval soaking tub as advertised on various websites. Hope you get good neighbors becasue you will be able to hear every little noise, including phone rings, toilet flush, animals, cabinet doors, etc. The TV and internet service is the only provider the residents can use unless you have a private balcony, which are very view. The TV & internet service always froze on certain channels and while working in the office, I always had people complaing about the internet speed not being fast enough. As a security the managment never changed the locks unless requested by the resident when an apartment was vacated. The staff was nice to work with, but the manager has never run apartments before the Timber Links opened and needs to take managment classes or some lessons in people skills. Be carefull not to violate any of the rules because 3 warnings are you are out of there, literally. It happened plenty. For the residents who are living there make sure you have the manager walk the apartment when you leave as it states specifically in your lease that you can do. After shampooing my own carpets before I left the carpet cleaning cost $123 which was taken out of my deposit. Hope you dont have any maintance issues because out of 480 apartments there is only one maintance guy becasue lindsey mgmt is to cheap to hire enough staff to provide the service the residents deserve.

First of all please allow me to appologize to all of you who have had a less than perfect experience. You should realize however that apartments are never a perfect, cozy living experience. All LIVING SPACES (whether it be an apartment, condo or home) are subject to sinking foundations, noisy neighbors and bugs that think your home looks more inviting than the great outdoors. However, not all apartment communities have a management team who is so attentive and so genuine. I have also experienced some of these same issues that everyone keeps bringing up, but I am different in that I understand why these things happen. I realize that management is taking care of the problem as quickly as they can and that's all I can and should expect. Obviously none of those who have commented have ever worked for an apartment community or the like. I have, and trust me these issues spoken of are very minor and this apartment community should receive a score of 100% in my opinion. I have lived at The Timber Links for almost 2 years now and I plan to renew again. Thank you Timber Links staff for all of your hard work. Please don't ever think it goes unnoticed.
Beautiful property, but not a good experience
I lived there for 8 months. When we looked at the model two-bedroom apartment, we were hooked. It was so nice! But when we applied for an apartment, they only had the two-bedroom with no hallway available. We liked all the amenities on the property (golf, tanning beds, sauna, pool, jacuzzi, gym, media room, game room), so we went ahead and signed without ever being shown the style apartment we were renting before hand. WELL, on moving day when we walked in, it was literally a BOX! The two bedrooms were off the living room and the drawn out floor plans that we looked at did not match the layout of the apartment at all. The bathroom door on the drawn layout was at an angle, and the laundry room was at an angle, giving the apartment some architectural pleasing aspects, but like I said, when we walked in, it was literally a square with every straight line imaginable. The thin walls were horrible. Luckily we were on the top floor, I can't imagine living on the bottom with such thin walls. I could hear my neighbor on one side talking on the phone, and my neigbor on the other side using the bathroom! While living there we looked for a house to move into and buy, and we found one! We had to break our lease early and move into our very own house, which thankfully, the apartments only made us pay half our lease when we moved out, which was nice, but after we were done paying, I received a letter in the mail from a collection agency saying the apartments were claiming we hadn't paid anything! That was a headache! Luckily I could prove we had paid, and got that straightened out! Overall they are pretty apartments, but VERY cheaply made, poor construction, and yes, there is the city dump down-wind that stinks up the parking lot every time it's windy!

Still got a lot of work to do.
I was initially very impressed with the way the place looked, the price and the location. The place was definately put together overnight. When I moved in my bathroom door did not shut and it remained that way for several months. Shortly after my door was fixed me and my roommate found out we had mice. Several reports to the management only resulted in "spraying" and putting down bait. It was up to me and my roommate to trap them (we caught five all together) before my boyfriend found the entrance behind the hot water heater. I lived on a second floor apartment. When it was time that I moved out, they looked at me funny when I asked them that I would like to move out and my roommate was staying. It took them a while to figure out how to work that out. I also put in several requests because I had moved out, to get my name off the electric bill (it was in both of our names) and when I forewarded my mail to my new residence, my roommate's electric bill came to me. It took almost five months to get my name off that bill. Luckily me and my roommate left on good terms. There were a lot of college students there, including myself and I think the noise was a little out of hand, concidering all the children I saw waiting for the bus in the mornings and realizing there were familys who lived among these college students.

RESIDENTS A SECOND THOUGHT
I lived at the complex for a year and felt during the entire time the leasing office staff only has one interest - themselves. Whenever I stopped by the office I felt I was an interfence and not a valued resident. On my first visit to the property the staff was downright rude. The plus side of living at the property: a very good array of ammenities; golf course access; cleanliness of the grounds (garbarge dumpsters were another issue at times); and response time from the maintenance crew to address any request I placed with the main office.

Easily livable, reasonably annoying
I lived here for 9 months. There are several issues surrounding this complex:
1) thin walls/floors/ceilings- you will be heard
2) sinking foundation- cracks on walls, some doors won't shut
3) bugs- you'll need a can of "bug stop" handy at all times
4) unreliable, slow "high speed" internet- at times, you will be envious of a dial-up connection
5) sprinkler aiming issues- hitting windows, crossing walking paths
6) loudest dishwasher ever assembled
7) kitchen sink not very deep
8) "deposit" is more like "fee"- no option to touch-up paint, floors "must" be professionally cleaned upon vacating
9) electricity went off randomly a few times

All these things are annoying/frustrating, but nothing I couldn't live with for the PRICE, which I think is key here. This place is cheap, and there are also many positives I came across.

1) free tanning
2) free golf on their 9 hole course
3) big pool, nice clubhouse, decent fitness center
4) management was good to me
5) price- cheap
6) location- tucked away, minutes from walmart, quick access to highway
7) spacious living arrangements
8) cable/internet on same bill, lax on late payments
9) washer/drier included in apartment
10) rent automatically bumps from your checking account monthly- could be plus/minus depending on your situation

I see a lot of people commenting on the neighbors when they review apartments but that's really done on a case-by-case basis. I've had good and bad experiences with neighbors in both pricey and cheap apartments.

Overall, the Timber Links are a lot to put up with. But nothing I couldn't handle. I'm not living there again because I want to be closer to campus, and I wouldn't recommend it because of the reasons above. But it's not a bad place to live by any stretch; just depends on your situation.

P.S. Not quite sure on the rent, but we did end up paying an extra 20 dollars for a 9 month lease, and another 20 on top of that b/c we had a "golf course view" which faced the ditch next to hole 7.

Great!!!
We had problems with noise, but calling the manager fixed that right away. Everyone was always nice and helpful. Any time we had a problem it was fixed within the week. That includes ants and broken applicances. And as for you balcony...I don't know what others are talking about. We all have chairs and plants out and no one has told us to take them in. The sprinklers only run at night. Every apartment has its annoying moments, but this one has been the best experience.

Awful!
When I first looked at these apartments they seemed really nice. I put my name on a list for July and they all but forced me to move in June or otherwise they were going to put my name at the bottom of the list. Then, they tacked on an extra twenty dollars a month for a "golf side" view and then another twenty dollars because I didn't want a 12 month lease. So I moved in and all my problems started. There were ants in my kitchen, the dishwasher and garbage disposal was borken, and there were about 6 tiles that were cracked which they refused to fix. I called in work orders and it took nearly a week for them to come out. I can usually smell the smoke coming from my neighors because they're always smoking. And my worst complaint would have to be the noise. There mine as well not be a roof above my head because I can hear everything the guy above me does. I can hear him peeing!! When he watches TV, talks on the phone, or listens to music I can always hear him. The staff is really nice but they're practically useless. All your bills are sent to like Arkansas and Florida, so they won't ever help you on that. They're all young too and if you're lucky you'll speak with the manager, but she's no better than the rest of them. The facilities are also nice (pool, tanning, gym), but they're not worth the awful problems that I had here. I'm moving in about 2 weeks and I'm so grateful because this is the worst apartment I've ever lived in. If you ever go to an apartment and they only show you models...beware!! This has never been a good thing in my experience. Rent here at your own risk.

Uncomfortable experience
Out of my numerous years with apartment rental I must say Timber links has been the most uncomfortable complex I have had the unfortunate experience to live at. A lot of college kids live here so the noise outside and inside the apartments were unbearable. Unless you were able to speak with the head manager herself you probably would not get any issues addressed. The people she has working in the office were rude and not helpful. Rent was never late so they didn't have any reasons to dislike me. I feel it could have been more personal due to possible race issues.

The apartments themselves are very cheaply put together. I have cut myself numerous times on nails sticking out in the cupboards and on the ends of the ledges of window sills.

There are more issues that I have had, but I don't want to waste anymore of my time on this place. I just wanted to help direct future renters to be cautious when applying here.

Stop... looks nice at first, but think again
When I first saw this place, I was impressed. I saw how cheap the rent was for all that was given. In fact we were one of the first to sign a lease and then got about 7 other apartments rented because of our referrals. Then the management problems came along. First the actual apartment problems, these places were built in a day, everything is cheap on them, and fell apart because of that. You can't keep so much as a chair out on your balcony unless they approve it. Oh, and did I say THEY. Well that was before there was a little problem with one of the managers, and he is no longer allowed near the premises. They have a problem with the water sprinklers busting all the time, and without going into great detail they refused to fix some personal property of mine that happen to flood because of this. Don’t expect your car to be safe from golf balls either because they will not pay for any damages caused to anything that is not theirs, even if it is there fault. A golf ball went through our window and it took them 3 days to get out there to fix it, and it takes them at least 2 times longer than that to get anything else fixed around here. There happen to be a lot of college kids around here, hence a lot of noise. Well they have no problems with looking out there window and just picking the place they think its at because we were slapped with multiple warnings before finding an eviction notice on our door for noise that we not only didn’t make but were out of town when it had occurred, and not just on one of those but on all of them. They seem to try to get people out of this place when they don’t like you.
I have to say I really hated this place the whole time I was here. I am moving out as soon as I can and funny enough all of those referrals that I made are, or have already moved too. This place is a slum waiting to happen in my opinion.
