OK, but not great
(I'm not sure what is up with the formatting of these comments ... not sure apartmentratings.com likes Chrome) I lived here for a little over a year on the 3rd floor facing Greenville Ave. The apartments look really nice and I liked the layout. The price was pretty low when I moved in. Walking downstairs to the shops was nice too. The walls are pretty thin though and you will hear your neighbors stereo even if it isn't too loud. The floors are thin too. I also had some type of electrical issue where my fuse kept blowing in the bedroom with only an alarm clock plugged in. They never really fixed that. There are only a few washer dryers for each building, so everyone is expected to have their own. I didn't but it wasn't too crowded using theirs even with the small number of them. When I moved in there were small things missing like a shower curtain rod and a microwave rack (I didn't know about the microwave rack until the billed me for it when I moved out and insisted I couldn't have moved in without it even though they missed a shower rod. :/). They also billed me for replacing the carpet which I think is them just grabbing for all the money they can get. I've lived in 5 apartments in the Dallas area with my cat and none of them had issues with the carpet. He didn't tear it up and there was nothing that couldn't be cleaned. In general I think the office is pretty nice, but I they seem to nickel and dime you once you are gone. It was my worst move out experience of the 5 places I've lived (Post downtown and the Village were a lot easier to deal with). Also parking is a tough one there. It was closer for me to park outside than to park in the garage, but I never did. I didn't mind it too much, but if you get in later than 9-10pm you often have to park on the top level of the garage. I only saw one car broken into and it was left on cement blocks. I had seen cops in there a couple times talking with residents so maybe it is worse than I know. No one ever messed with my car though. Compared to the places in that area, Post Eastside is a good deal. Just don't expect it to be amazing. It has some really annoying quirks.

As things are now
retail establishments great and improving and adding more frequently very safe; in two years I know of no personal crime to anyone women are not afraid to walk dogs on the mall alone at night with more retail establishments, parking is more of a problem especially for visitors

Renters Beware!!!
I've lived there for 2 years. And I've given the office ample opportunity to remedy the situations that I'm addressing here. 1. Do not rent apartment 2218. It is right next to the door to the parking garage. You might think this is a plus, but when people come in at 10 pm, 2 am, 4am - it gets very loud when the door slams behind them waking you from a deep sleep! 2. You have no allowances at all with this company. They've known for almost 3 months that I was moving - verbally, sent an email from their own portal site that I was moving and because their email landed in my spam folder and I didn't see that they needed even more notification in "writing" - I'm being charged for an extra week. Now, they also know that I've only been able to be in the apartment 2-3 days a month for the last couple of months - I'm fulfilling my obligations of the lease. So of course, I feel that they should make my move out date be the end of my lease. Come on, really? You can't overwrite for your own email landing in someone's spam folder - lucky I even go in there at all to clean it out or I guess I'd still be paying for rent for who knows how long!!!! 3. Parking on the level your apartment is on is IMPOSSIBLE. I frequently had to park on Level 6 when I'm on Level 2! Good luck toting your groceries up and down the elevators. 4. The outside of the apartments are trashy. How come you pay over $800 for a 1 BR and apartments in other areas that rent a lot less are so much prettier??? These are just a few of my complaints... Renters beware!!!!

I've had enough!
I should have known there was a problem when I went to move in and my gate fob didn't work - leaving me stranded at night with a truckload of furnishings. This turned out to be characteristic of the competence of the staff. Last week they sent back a package my friend had shipped to my apartment because it didn't have my name on it. The shops are nice at first, but after a while you realize it attracts the drunken college students yelling in the parking lot at all hours of the night - even on weeknights. I assume it's one of them that broke out my $300 window to steal a $100 nav system in the parking lot. To top it off, now they tell me I have to park in the parking garage and walk down stairs, through a hallway and across "my" parking lot because they made all of the (large number of) nearby parking spaces retail spaces instead of simply reserving a few for the residents. Every footstep my neighbors take above me is so loud is distracting. I'm out of there when my lease comes up in July.

Apartment Quality
While the complex from the outside looks upscale, it is not. When we reviewed the actual rental unit, it was dirty and had some damage. We were told it would look like new before we moved in. This did not happen. It took several weeks to get the hardwood floors repaired and cleaned. We found busted areas in the kitchen cabinets, the microwave door was damaged resulting in a new unit finally being installed. The unit has consistently been dirty/dusty from the dust that blows in thru the doors/windows due largely in fact of the open ends in the hallways. The cabinets as well as the appliances are more entry level items. The granite tops are not solid but more of a skin. In fact our guest bathroom countertop came loose from the wall requiring a new countertop in which they replaced with a solid granite piece. While the leasing office staff is friendly, they are not to blame for the quality of the complex. The electrical has also been an issue with the outlets malfunctioning. Parking is a joke. We were not told at the time of leasing one of the parking garages belonged to another company in the complex and that the apartments paid for parking. We have issues with other tenants in the area parking close the apartment entry doors causing the apartment tenants to park outside the gates in some cases or 2-3 floors away from their designated living floor. While the complex looks nice from the outside, the open areas at the end of the hallways are not efficient. The open areas allow for dust, rain, snow to penetrate down the hallways making it harder to keep the units cleaned, warm. A resolution would be to incase the area with glass windows. Local management has been notified that some of the excerise equipment require repairs such as one of the TV's do not work, audio issues on a treadmill and the stationary bike. These repairs have gone un-done for some time. For the amount of money we are paying, these items should be functional at all times. Overall the complex is over priced.

best in the area
We have lived here for going on two years now and after considering other apartment complexes after lease expirations, we always end up back at Post Eastside because we enjoy the safety & the upgrades that are standard with each apartment home (granite countertops, tile floors, stainless steel appliances, better carpet than most other places, etc.) Of course there are the usual drawbacks of living in an apartment. Anyone who enjoys the luxury of not paying a mortgage should not ----- about hearing your neighbors occasionally or dealing with the typical apartment issues. Although these units (we've lived in two so far) tend to be a little pricey, they're definitely worth the money. You won't find anything closer to Dallas that's as safe and well-maintained as post eastside.

don't bother
Its easier to just look elsewhere. I've been in nicer places and paid half the money. The apartments are completely over priced and I had an ant and bug problem the first few months I lived there. They told me they put me down for pest control but I never saw a difference until I sprayed for the bugs myself. Parking is horrible unless you live on a high floor. I used to park right by the door before they made that guest/2 hr limit parking, now I can't find one outside either. The staff is not that great, they are friendly, but won't really help you if you have a problem they just give you there straight response and won't really work with you to find a solution. Maintenance is quick they have always responded the next day when I had a problem. Office hours are horrible if you have a real job that you have to go to everyday, and there has been a couple times where I went over 15 mins before close and the doors were already locked. If you have a loud upstairs neighbor you'll never rest. I can hear every footstep they make and when they close or open their bedroom/bathroom doors. I can also hear my one neighbor when they had music on. This place is not worth your money.

It just looks nice.
I have been here for almost a year and am not going to renew my lease. Post Eastside does look attractive: stainless steel appliances, convenient location, new building--however looks aren't everything. The worksmanship is so shoddy. The kitchen cabinets are crooked from hinges being put on incorrectly. The tiles in the bathroom and kitchen are cracked. Nothing heavy was dropped on anything, they just cracked. Everywhere. And they keep cracking. It is a consistent mess. The A/C unit was not built efficiently so whenever heat/air comes on it is extremely loud. Extremely loud. The insulation is bad, your apartment will always be way too hot/too cold unless you keep the A/C on, no room to save money there. I have read other comments about noise but that fortunately is not a problem for me. One of my neighbors was a family with 3 small children and two dogs and I never heard anything. However, I always heard the upstairs neighbors. You will hear every step they make. Parking isn't an issue for me because I park outside, just a personal preference. However, whenever it was pouring and I decided to park in the garage it was a pain to look for a spot. This is the case all the time. The trash chute is awful, awful, awful. It always starts to get full near the weekends so you will have to go to the top floor to drop your trash. Or try cramming it on the bottom floor, also a hassle. The location is great but surrounding stores have not flourished yet. Maintenance is excellent. You can put a request online and it usually gets fixed the next day. The staff is alright, not great. They have a sweet couple here who manages monthly apartment activities. I received a special where I was prorated for two months free. I really like the location (2 minutes from work) but I cannot live here. It is way too overpriced for the quality you are receiving. Everything looks nice but it seems as if the builders used the cheapest/most incompetent labor/materials ever. Everything is breaking/falling apart. The rent of course will increase with the next lease and I will not be staying.

Loving it!
I've been living here for about 1.5 months now and love it. While the rent is pricey, I feel the amenities and apartments are worth it. Yes, you can sometimes hear your neighbors walking above you or a front door shutting, but as someone who has lived in many apartments, you will find this anywhere! But I have never had any other problems with noise. The pool is an awesome place to hang out at and the monthly resident activities are really nice (the best I've had so far!). The managment is also fantastic, which is hard to come by these days. I also love the parking garage (which I didn't think I would) and have always felt very safe here. I would recommend living here to all my friends.

Great apartments, awesome staff
These are great apartments and the office staff is probably the best. They will go extra mile to help you out. Office manager, Maria, is doing a great job. Now that the apartments are at 100% occupancy, you might not get parking close to the gate but its not really a problem. There is a 'Cares' team which is doing an awesome job. They arrange for a monthly poker game(with $175 prize, no bad!!!!), they organize free breakfasts and other get together. I will definitely recommend these apartments to anyone. Almost 100% occupancy cant be achieved if the apartments are not good. I, myself, have been staying here since last one and a half year and just extended my lease by 1 year.

6 months and I want out
We moved here 6 months ago and we're chomping at the bit to get out of here! As previous reviewers have said, the walls are paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING that happens next door. On top of that, we're on the 2nd floor and our upstairs neighbors have large dogs so it basically sounds like there's a freight train above us ALL DAY...and I work from home. Here's the bad: Loud drunks go to the pool at 3 o'clock in the morning causing verbal fights that wake everyone and eventually the police are called. People let there dogs defecate in the hallways (sometimes large dogs, in front of your mailbox- you can imagine how disgusting). The doors to the parking garage stick sometimes so you can't get in the building until someone comes out. UPS doesn't even bother to come to your apartment, they just leave everything at the office without giving you any kind of notice that you have a package. The appliances look nice but they're cheap- my freezer doesn't properly freeze and my oven doesn't properly bake. The air conditioning system leaves one room freezing cold while the rest of the apartment is sweltering. The rent is sky-high but that doesn't keep out the trash and drunken college students who'll knock on your door in the middle of the night looking for a different apartment. What's the good? The gym is nice- it has good equipment and it's clean. The trash chutes are fantastic. The parking garage is a plus. The pools are nice when they're not overcrowded on the weekends. As you can see, the bad far outweigh the good. Skip this place.

Looks nice... but not worth the trouble
First off, I will admit the Post Eastside is REALLY nice. The apartment is new, the inside looks fancy, and the staff is friendly. It's in a great location with a variety of restaurants (and 711) inside the community. For the most part, the residents here seem like the quiet, working type. However... THE WALLS AND CEILING ARE PAPER THIN!!!!!!!!! I can hear every step the person above me takes as well as every load of laundry they run until 2am. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY. For a place that is so nice.. it's ashame you can't enjoy it. If you plan on living here... MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE 4TH FLOOR! AND if that isn't bad enough... The people above me (the loud ones) call noise complaints on ME when all I do is watch TV. You can expect officers to show up at your door if you plan on watching TV past 10pm. It's ridiculous AND I'm not the only one at The Post who is in this situation... Of course, I went to management. They were nice. But they basically said there wasn't anything they could do about it. I WAS given an option to pay a FEE to switch apartments. That was pretty lame since my lease is almost up anyway.. The police can't do anything either. They said the noise is "hardly" audible but they have to come knock (rather BANG) to let me know. They are nice though and seem to understand that I am not trying to cause trouble. Despite the convenience and appeal of this place, it's not likely I'll be here much longer. It's ashame the Post is nearly perfect in all other aspects...

I'm Happy Here
I am always amazed at the complaints people write on here. I have lived in an apartment or duplex since moving to Dallas in 1994. Out of 4 different complexes I have to say that Post Eastside is by far the best. Apartments have noise, especially if you have someone above you. Maintenance can be an issue. I live on the second floor, and yes, I have had to complain about noise from the apartment above me. After I complained, the loud radio/alarm at 3am was not repeated. The other evening, after maintenance had been thru to replace batteries in the smoke alarms, the smoke alarm in my bedroom started chirping at 8pm. I called in a request and within half an hour someone came & fixed the smoke alarm. The CaresTeam (hospitality) is great with several events each month for residents. I am going to be very sad in two years when I retire and move out of state. I will admit that the parking garage is an issue - if you come in after 7pm you will have to go to another floor to park.

Do not let the location fool you... keep driving
I needed a quick apartment and did not look around very much. I stopped by these apartments and was quickly sold with the exterior look and location. I was shown the apartment in the middle of the day when everyone is either at work or school which allowed them to hide the noise level that this location entails. They did not allow me to walk away and quickly threw in two free months of rent. What in this world is free? I have a pool view apartment and the actual look of the apartments is great. My friends are always impressed with the marble tops, patio, and view of pool. The 24 hour gym is for the most part available but as the spring is arriving some peak hours exist. The equipment is up to date but 50% of the TV's on the actual equipment do not work which defeats the purpose. Maintenance seems to be on the ball about fixing the necessary items. I have encountered some burnt bulbs and a leaky sink. I dictate when they can enter and they always respect my schedule. I am currently having a small issue with them fixing my door so i will update on how this 7 day request will turn out. There is a 1/4 inch opening in my door and this allows bugs and cold/hot air to enter in to the apartment. When I requested the door be fixed they simply stated that it was a warranty issue and i needed to wait for warranty guy. Hmmmm that was 7 days ago. The noise level at this complex is horrendous. I will lay in bed on a Sunday night at around 11 pm and without exaggeration i can hear my upstairs neighbors dog running around while her washer machine is running, my next door neighbor's tv, my downstairs neighbor's slamming of his doors and music, and about one floor up and next sections neighbor's conversation while he smokes and drinks with his girlfriend on their patio. The walls are basically paper thin and expect the noise to be bothersome and annoying. You will see this to be true by reading other reviews. I made a request to the office that my downstairs neighbor be asked not to play his music at 1am. The office's response "next time call the officer that we employ so we can do what we have to do here at the office." Why wake up the off duty officer, why do I have to go out of my way to make a phone call, and why simply not send a courteous letter? The parking situation is bad at this point but as time progresses they will run out of space. My girlfriend parked her vehicle in the parking lot of the unoccupied businesses next to the complex. The business locations literally have no walls inside and therefore no parking is needed for that particular location. An office worker notified us that parking was not enforced after 6pm and therefore parking was available in those spots. The next morning we discovered that her truck had been towed at 6:20pm. When we confronted another office employee he simply responded "well i did not tell you that so it is not my problem." They ask you to park in designated parking lot however this runs out at about 8pm. Drive by at night and take a look for yourself. I am in my 5 month at this location and the tenants have received notification of many car burglaries and one actual home robbery. I am an officer and by my standards that is not acceptable. No measures are being taken to ensure the problems is solved. I reemphasize that the location is great and it is close to shopping and dining. However, this should not take away from your comfort level. The comfort level is less at an apartment however the cheap structure of the apartment and the office's inability to help control the noise level make this place unbearable.

The amenities are very nice and the appliances/finishes are great. Plenty of cabinet space. When I moved in, I was told that because of the income requirement, there were very few students. Not true. There are students all around here. Also, I was told that there was no need for assigned parking as there was always plenty of spaces. If I come home after 6pm, I have to park at least one floor away from my entrance and if I have groceries that's really a pain. Reserved spots are $50 a month. The noise is sometimes bad. I can hear my neighbors tv every night, and if someone above you owns a sub woofer (like me) then forget it, better get used to the noise. I've made several complaints and nothing has changed. The upkeep and maintenance are great. Whenever I have a service request, they are always here immediately. Sometimes people leave trash in the hallways or let their dogs pee in the hallways, but its not too much of a problem. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. If there is ever a break in, they report it to all the units. Supposedly they do background checks on everyone, and you park in a gated garage, but there has been one robbery and at least two car break ins. You can't beat the area and easy access to the freeway. If you are sensitive to noise, I would try to get a top floor apt. Otherwise, great place to live, get a reserved parking spot if you can afford it.

Nice, but Pricey
Usually a no frills kind of guy, I decided to splurge a bit on a one bedroom apartment here ($900/month). I use the word "splurge", because for about $100-$200 a month less, one can find roughly the same square footage in an apartment in most other areas of Richardson. What makes this place premium are standard stainless steel appliances, granite in kitchen/bath, and modern decor in every apartment (lower units have hardwood but are even more expensive). The grounds are also fairly nice, with two pools, a REAL 24 hour fitness center complete with dumbells and about eight Cybex weight machines, a cozy business center/lounge, and parking garage. The good news is, living here for eight months has made me realize that I don't need all this useless fluff. The bad news is, all other aspects of the apartment community are pretty much standard fair. Thin walls/floors/ceilings, people leaving trash in random places, and drunkards marching through the hallways like a heard of elephants at 2 AM. Oh, and one unique characteristic, AN ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE MAIL MAN! I have gotten others mail at LEAST 20 times, and I am sure other people have received mine. The couple things that I will miss when I move out are the fitness center, restricted access, excellent location, and overall nice office staff. However, I just don't see the point of paying this kind of money for it, as one can find an apartment Uptown for the same price. In a way, I feel that this community did get the short end of the stick, as approximately 30 of the 40 shops below the apartments are still empty even after a year and a half. Maybe when/if this area fills out, this will be a more happening atmosphere; worthy of the lofty rents. Until that time, this is an above average place, with well above average prices.

Post eastside, bahhhhhumbug
At first since they were new I thought they would be great but after being here a year I am surprised at how cheap they are built. Typical apartment problems, cheap appliances and inadaquete air conditioning system equate to High electric bills. carpet is cheap and was obviously painted by blind people. The apartment building already has mold and water issues that they are trying to fix. Management is nice but uncaring about tenet issues with wiring and cable issues. They could do a better job of keeping the place clean. Not really worth the money but a great location.

Have not been impressed...
I'll be honest, I was so excited to move into an apartment with some wonderful amenities and kinda a cool/hip vibe to it... but I've been incredibly disappointed with the quality of service overall that Post Properties have exhibited. There's my move in date... I really had hoped to get the first appointment of the day with my moving company (8 a.m.) but was told I wouldn't be able to get the keys until after 10 a.m. - - so instead of being moved and packed earlier in the day - it was much later. Then there are the parking and fob issues. For a 1 BR apartment I only was given one parking fob - which was more than enough. But I have parents who come to see me frequently and I wanted to see about an extra fob for them. I can have one for a non-refundable fee of $50. What's that about? What am I to do with the fob after I move out???? It makes no sense. I've lived in several upscale properties that always gave me a second set of everything (parking, fob, keys, etc) without charging me - unless I didn't bring it back - which never happened. I guess my expectations of this community were extremely high compared to the level of service I've experienced. Abby and the staff at Eastside are nice - just not able to really go that "above and beyond" which I've experienced at other very nice communities. Her manager said that she hoped my experience with Post improves, and my response to this is yes, I hope it does inprove - at this point it wouldn't take much for it to improve - - it's been so sub-par to begin with. I really wouldn't recommend this property just yet... the retail portion needs to really flourish and Post would need to stop hiding behind the "We're a publicly traded company" stance before I would consider renewing my lease or recommend to any of my friends or social groups.
