I moved into Sterling Village after my marriage of 38 years ended. Shortly after I was involved in a serious accident and broke my neck and back. Needless to say, I can't do things I used to do when it comes to maintenance etc. The crew at Sterling Village has been very prompt in addressing my needs. Thank you so much.... Reid Anderson

We love our apartment and the staff. Maintenance request are almost always completed the same day, usually within a few hours. We plan on staying here until we retire to a warmer climate. The exercise facilities are better than any other apartment we've lived in and broken equipment is repaired quickly.

This apartment is the nicest apartment I have ever personally been in. It has amazing views in a tranquil Jordan River Meadow setting. The management staff is very courteous and responsive. The pool area is very nice with a full sized pool and the hot tub is hot with strong jets. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. The gym has good equipment, including a stair stepper, with a nice clean and effective sauna and steamroom that I regularly use. The billiards room is nice, clean and functional as well. Living here is worth the money.

Large, very nicely designed apartments with some great views. Nice size garages are close. The community and apartments are very well maintained. Maintenance is very responsive to problems. Office staff is friendly and very helpful. Does lack extra parking, but has not been a problem for me. Wish I would've come here first when I was looking.

We are enjoying our stay at Sterling village apartments. Apartment is comfortable and so is the neighborhood. The only worry at time's is the pets that roam around free without being leashed.we love to see pets on the premises but would feel safe if the owners could keep them leashed when they are in common areas.

MARY'S EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN VERY POSITIVE DURING HER MANY YEARS AT STERLING WILLAGE. OFFICE STAFF AND MAINTENANCE HAVE BEEN GREAT. ONLY PROBLEM SHE ENCOUNTERED WAS A PROBLEM OF THEM REPLACING SOME INTERIOR LIGHT BULBS WHICH THEY SAID THEY DO NOT DO, BUT THEY DID ANYWAY AS SHE IS 94 YEARS OLD AND LIVES BY HERSELF.

Really great living space and location, but when I read that maintenance takes their time for repairs, I didn't realize it was true until I issued a maintenance request. If only they keep their residents up to date, this wouldn't be a problem

We moved into Sterling Village 5 years ago, thinking we might stay a year. However, we love living here. We're retired and have decided this will be our retirement home. We love our 3 room apartment, our large deck, fireplace, vaulted ceilings and the maintenance staff are fabulous as well as the office staff, always responding quickly to our every need.

For the most part I am pretty satisfied. Office staff can come across rude and condescending at times. However the property/amenities are great. They are also pretty quick to respond to apt issues. A better job could be done with bugs onsite.

Community is 99% wonderful. Everyone I meet is happy and loves the apartments, they feel so homey. I love the grounds and having a covered garage. Although I'm on the first floor, the view is great and the patio is often in use. I also use the workout facilities often and they are always clean and well cared for.

Stay away, very bad attitude from management. Parking is very bad. Once you move in, mgmt. wont help you even for a small thing. They will go out of their way to make it an unpleasant experience for you. Mice/rats run inside the apartments every winter. You are on your own to place traps and catch them. Appliances break down frequently. Even if maintenance repairs it, it will break down again very soon. Prices are very high. Quality of the apartment and the services provide is no way worth the price you pay.

Awful management. Unprofessional, dishonest, SCAMMERS. Beware, if your gut tells you it's too good to be true, it is. They seem all nice when you want to move in, but once your contract is signed, they can care less about you and your needs. And when you move out, prepare to get sent to collections over a bunch of charges that they made up!!

I've lived at Sterling Village for over two years. It's been a great place. Location is perfect, close to freeway, stores and mall. Every maintenance issue I've had was handled promptly by the maintenance staff and they were friendly and helpful. Management has always been great, friendly, reachable and very professional. One issue of concern (management DID disclose at time of looking at apartment) for some may be the winter gas bills as the apartments are gas heated. There are "LOTS" of window's in every apartment, steel framed, which requires leaving the thermostat up, resulting in gas bills well over $120.00 monthly from November to March with a 2 bedroom, south facing apartment. Overall an excellent, well run community!

When i moved in it Started off pretty well. Was not fond of the staff because of rudeness but I loved my floorplan and it was close to work. Location is good - quick access to the freeway and near a plaza with grocery stores and restaurants. Maintenance was pretty slow to resolve work orders but I am an easy resident to please and was always giving leeway for slow responses, etc. Never complained about anything. The office was closed during the times it should have been open. And when there was staff, they really couldn't answer much. The property has not been kept at all. There is garbage scattered throughout the property, some I've noticed that has been there for a few weeks now which just shows that there is no staff walking the property. Just wanted to put this out there so everyone knows what they will be getting into. Hopefully it gets better and they take more pride in their community. My lease is ending and I am leaving along with plenty other residents I've seen move out. Noise - 1 stars. Always hear our neighbors Grounds - 2 stars. Constant dog feces and garbage Safety - 1 stars. Issues with my neighbors parking in front of my garage Construction - 3 stars. Quality of fixtures - more than a few things falling apart. Normal wear and tear but looks like they're not doing a good job fixing problems. Maintenance - 2 stars. Again, takes them a while to fix the problem and when they do, usually seems like they do it hastily and do not care for quality. Staff - 1 star. Never seen a smile from that office. Seems like they do not value residents.

Don't do it. just don't. on top of several maintenance issues i had including drafty windows that they refused to fix during a winter in Utah, the main reason is most of the staff and they way they treat the resisdents. i came in the office to pay my last months rent and told the prissy little guy working there that this would be my last month at the apartment and handed him my last rent check. he took the check and said "alright" yet failed to mention or remind me that my 30 day notice had to be in writing or even ask if I'd be interested in renewing the lease. I left the state for several weeks and when i returned to my empty apartment that i was already moved out of to turn in my keys and sign any final papers, i was informed i owed them another $1,xxx because i was being charged for another month of rent because i failed to inform them i was moving. they didnt care that i told them i was verbaly, not in writing. reminder that i was already completely moved out for a couple weeks but i got charged for everything and they kept my security deposit so dont expect that back either. they handed the bill to there main office out in california and after a few phone calls i was able to get the debt down somewhere around $600, still $600 too much but it was a start. they told me to pay what i could and take my time, again, getting somewhere. i didnt receive any monthly bills ors anything of the sort, so me being as busy as i am, forgot to send a check and now i have part of that $600 debt sitting in the hands of a very annoying debt collector. do yourself a favor and find yourself somewhere else to live.

My husband and I moved out to Utah in mid-January and were really excited to move into Sterling Village. 5 months later we are even happier than we thought we would be. Transferring from the east coast was difficult and Sterling Village (especially Audrey) was completely helpful and reliable. Our place is very quiet and we have great views from both balconies. When we moved in the place was spotless and they even had the heat on so the apartment wasn't freezing when we arrived late at night. The garbage disposal was clogged so I called maintenance and within the hour they were there and fixed within a few minutes. The gym is beautiful and clean every time I go there (although I do wish there were more treadmills) as well as the pool area. They even hosted a wine and cheese night to get to know the renters and have us get to know each other. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to live in the South Jordan area.

DON'T LIVE HERE!!!!!
I have only lived here 2 months and already wish I could break my lease!! Everything seemed wonderful and I was so excited to live here, the space, the garage, the location....and in 2 months everything has changed. They closed the pool at 10 which in the summer is way way to early to be closing the pool/hot tub area. On top of it they decided to make a rule that you are only allowed to bring 1 guest to the pool area at a time...1 guest!!! So I have 2 nieces and a nephew, if I want to go to the pool, I can only take one of them. If my mother and father come to visit me, I can only bring 1 with me at a time b/c they can't go together since they do not live here. They even have a security guard that monitors the pool from 6-10. I've witnessed him yell at children, and put them in time out in the hot tub for playing. He disciplines them in front of their parents, it's very strange. The hot tub is cold. I've asked numerous times to see if it can be heated b/c the do not allow it to go over 101 degrees. The pool is too cold to swim in. When I've dealt with this staff I'm always trying to be understanding, and I just want to feel like they are listening and care about the people that live here....I literally just got off the phone with a leasing rep who stated that if I chose not to follow the rules, then that was my problem but this was out it was and there was a security guard present to reinforce these rules. This place has a lot of potential, but the staff and rules are worse then living in a dorm. I'm 30 years old, I don't need to be treated like I'm 17. Also withing the first month of living here my billing was completely messed up. The staff admitted it was their fault, but then stated that was just the way it was and if I didn't pay the difference of what they had printed on the bill I would get an eviction notice. It was ridiculous. I want to love living here so bad, but when my lease is up, with zero consistency and the fact that I feel like I would have more freedom at the BYU campus then I do at my own apartment, I will def. NOT be renewing my lease, and I wouldn't recommend you sign one either. Leases mean nothing if the staff feels they can change the rules at any time. Good Luck. I'd try Crossing at Daybreak...it's nicer, way more friendly and realistic to an adult living situation.

Favorite apartment
We lived here for a year before buying a home and absolutely loved it. It was only about 200 sq ft smaller than the house we bought. These apartments are huge! I loved the bathroom off the master bedroom. We had a seperate shower and deep bathtub. It was very nice to relax in. We never heard any of the neighbors around us. The only problem we had was with spiders. Never seen so many before but its to be expected with a big field not too far away. The patio is huge and the attached garage is very convenient. There isn't much parking for guests though. The pool and club house are among the best I have ever seen in any apartment complex.

Rented Here for Three Months Each Year for Five Years
We were pleased with all five apartments we rented between 2006 and 2011. Every apartment needed maintenance from time to time--you cannot expect all things to be perfect here any more than we could expect no maintenance in our home in Tennessee. The important thing: maintenance was prompt and well done. The staff was always responsive and helpful. Again none are perfect, but they try hard and are dependable. We plan to return in 2012, if the price is affordable.

Looks nice but beware
This place looked great for my family until a week after we moved in. First we found mouse poo everywhere all over our dishes all over everything. First they called an exterminator that put down sticky traps that did nothing and he even said they will do nothing. So then they had to hire a new exterminator that took 2 weeks in witch the maintenance put in snap traps and said if you catch any call us day or night and we will come get it. One Sunday night around 8:30 pm a mouse got caught by his foot on one of the sticky traps we called maintenance 3 times they never called back I had to get out a knife and kill the thing because it was suffering. Next our kitchen sink was leaking and maintenance just said oh its just like that. By the time we moved out the damage was real real bad but not my fault. Because of cheep windows in the apartment during the winter time you will get a lot of condensation on the windows witch will freeze at night and eventually turn to mold. The tile in our shower fell out and we where without a shower for almost two weeks in witch time they had to use a big industrial fan to dry the wood in the shower so they could re tile and put in new dry wall. The fan ran up my power bill and made the whole apt smell like mold. Last our dryer vent had to be cleaned out because we had to run the dryer 4 times to get clothes dry. It turned out there was a bird nest in the vent that could have caused a huge fire. I did get a small credit on my rent due to running the fan and our dryer problem. All in all this is one of the biggest apartments i have ever lived in witch was what sold us on them. The materials used are cheep and fall apart very quickly, maintenance is a bit lazy but they do have one guy who is great i just don't think they give them quality replacement parts. If i had to live here again i would live in my car the office is not vary helpful and forgets everything and never notes your account so they will call and call due to them forgetting about a conversation. Do not rent here do you family a huge favor....

Haters gonna hate
To the people that talk trash on this place...REALLY?! Have you ever lived in another apartment in Utah? These are as good as it gets. Sure, there are newer ones, but they are made of cheap material and will fall apart in a few years. These apartments are solid. I actually had to move due to hard times but was able to move back recently. Everyday I think of how lucky I am to live here. Just the other day, I sent in a maintenance request that had a long list of about 8 things. ALL the items were resolved within an hour. I've never had a more responsive maintenance anywhere I've lived! I don't hear the train where I am but I can in my buddy's place which is in a building closer to the tracks. The price is a little high but it's worth it. The neighborhood is safe and friendly....but not too friendly :P The floor plans are scattered so you only share part of one wall with your neighbors. I never hear them, yay! I have people over very late at night and I've talked to my neighbors, all of them say that they can't hear me.

Go Live Somewhere Else
We lived at Sterling Village for about 6 months. We moved out a few months ago. We have had problems since right about when we moved in all the way until now. Within weeks of moving in, our microwave started sparking out of the blue. We submitted a maintenance request. 2 days later, the maintenance people showed up and put a new piece of cardboard on the top of the microwave and then some nail-polish looking paint on the two prongs holding the cardboard. A week later, the microwave lit up again. We asked for a new microwave and were told that maintenance had fixed our problem and that they couldn't do anything else for us. We ended up unplugging that microwave and buying ourselves a new one. The apartments look ok on the outside but aren't that great inside. The apartments have very thin walls and do not hold heat or cool air very well. Plus you can hear and smell your neighbors through the walls. We had birds living in our chimney that maintenance would never do anything about. They suggested we open it up and turn the fire on full blast. Our garage door keypad stopped working after a while and then only worked periodically. When we first signed our contract, they told us that in addition to all the other stuff we paid we would pay an admin fee that would cover all cleaning costs when we left. They sold us on the idea that when we left they would have the apartment professionally cleaned at no cost to us. Then when we left they told us that was just an administration fee and that we still had to leave the apartment 100% clean or we would be billed for the professional cleaning. The garages are very narrow and hard to get in and out of. Half the people in the complex have loads of junk in their garages (which is against the never-enforced policy that renters have to be able to fit a car in their garage). This leads to a very bad parking situation in the few parking spaces around the buildings. And if that weren't enough...a few weeks after we left we received a check from them with no description or statement other than "deposit refund". We assumed that since we had paid so much in fees/deposits up front, and also a bunch of stuff around our lease break-up that this was truly a refund. Three months later we started getting calls saying that their accounting department had made a mistake and that we needed to return the money to them as soon as possible. What kind of accounting department takes 3 months to figure out they issued a check in error? So now the money is spent and they expect me to pay them back ASAP...right. All in all, we have a lot of bad memories.

Very Nice Place to Live
Having lived in 3 different apartment complexes over the past 3 years after moving out to Utah for school, I can easily say Sterling Village is one of the nicest, most spacious apartment complexes I have seen here. Sterling Village was the first apartment complex I looked into prior to moving in, and after dropping my jaw to the floor at the shear beauty of the one bedroom floor plan, every other apartment I looked at in The Valley didn't even begin to compare to Sterling. After a few weeks of looking around I came full circle back to Sterling Village. When I came in to make my down payment I was a bit frustrated with their staff because the rent and deposit amount they had promised me just 2 weeks before had expired the day before I came in. They knew I was coming in the day that I did and they were well aware of the rate I expected to receive. It was quite annoying to find out that they not only wouldn't honor the amount they promised, but wouldn't even meet me somewhere in the middle either. That being said, I love just about everything about these apartments. As others have said there are bees/wasps, but maintenance has always been responsive to my needs (including spraying). The caliber of the residents here is exceptional which became obvious to me when I was foolish enough to leave my mail/house/pool key stuck in my mailbox lock and then received the whole keychain back the next day from the office staff (who even dropped it off in my apartment for me while I was at work!). The nearby traintrack IS loud, but it doesn't bother me too much. There seems to be a late train most nights (11 or so), but it goes by pretty quick and isn't too bad. All of the amenities are fantastic from the pool to the hot tub to the great gym equipment, sauna and even a steambath. Parking generally sucks late at night, but as a resident with a garage it doesn't bother me one bit. The one bedroom floorplan has to be seen to be believed. The garage is CONNECTED to the apartment with a staircase leading up into it. No huffing through snow required, just walk downstairs into the garage and get in your car. The vaulted ceilings are beautiful, the living room is truly massive, the bathroom is gorgeous, the kitchen is spacious, the bedroom is ideally located away from the living room so that people can sleep without being bothered by the TV in the other room, the patio is HUGE, and the layout of the apartment is such that the living areas of the apartment don't actually touch wall-to-wall with any of the surrounding apartments. There are 3 garages below the one bedroom model, vaulted ceilings above, and a 4-foot wide staircase adjoins the next door apartment. I have never once heard my neighbor, and based on what they tell me, they haven't heard me either. The one major complaint I have is that the bedroom has a big bay window looking out into the courtyard- and facing an exceptionally bright, orange safety light. It is NEVER dark in the bedroom and shades/drapes must be purchased to keep the light level down (if that sort of thing bothers you). Other than that, I do not have any complaints whatsoever about the apartment.

Better than expected apartment living
After being fortunate enough to own three beautiful new homes prior to moving into Sterling Village, I was preparing myself for less than ideal living. Sterling Village was far from that. I looked at multiple apartments in the area but after a personal visit and tour of the complex here I was sold. The units are spacious, well sorted and nicely done. I don't feel at all like I live in an apartment. The grounds are beautiful, well-kept and peaceful. I love having the garage and the pool area is the best I've seen. The management and maintenance are very responsive and helpful. Access to shopping, entertainment and interstate are a huge plus. Everyone that has visited my place comments on how nice it is, like a mini house. Great choice.
